While CC claims to have followed up with me, that just means that they did not resolve the matter at hand while sending unhelpful emails. Again I received a new iteration of my medical record files but no written guarantee that the file is indeed complete and accurate, which would be imperitive since I have several versions of it now, all several 100s to 1,000s pages long that cannot be compared, to identify all the differences in it. As a result it is impossible to verify if the file is now complete and accurate. Instead they let their lawyer reach out to me, telling me that they will not sign something that provides certainty regarding the latest file being complete and accurate. This is just another way of saying "We do not know if this file is now complete and accurate, that's why we won't sign a guarantee.". The matter is not over. HHS is monitoring them now and I am not done getting my complete and accurate medical file one day from CC. On the day of this update being posted, CC is 511 days (!!!) behind on what the law requires, which is to provide the complete and accurate medical file within 30 days. read more

We went through 3 doctors in 8 mths. When they left, quit or were dismissed it was not communicated in a timely fashion. 2 of the 3 times my daughter's meds were not filled and I could not get on touch with anyone and when I finally did they apologized and said the provider is no longer with us, you need to schedule a new appointment and her meds lapsed. Highly unprofessional and not concerned for patients will being. I would not use for psychiatric services. read more

They are a bunch of pill pushers. I have been reaching out to them regarding a patient who is abusing medication and going off deepens and they do nothing but keep feeding him more and more adderral. I know there are hippa laws but when you live with the person for and you see whats happenign and the doctors to do absolutely NOTHING to stop it. No random counts, nothing. Patients are treated more like cash cows than people who need care. I had a call this past Friday with a staff member who spoke to me in an incredibly disrespectful and demeaning way. I would give it 0 stars if I could - don't go there. I enrolled in group therapy hoping to connect with others dealing with anxiety and panic attacks, but the experience was disappointing from the start. About half of each session was spent doing yoga, which felt like a poor use of time given that sessions cost over $1,000. Things got worse during my fourth session, when I was the only participant. I was told I had to stay or risk insurance complications, and the therapist agreed to charge me for an individual session instead. However, I was later billed the full group rate anyway. When I reached out to billing, it took four weeks to get a response, only to be told that individual billing wasn't possible--even though I was the only one there. Overall, I'm extremely frustrated with Clarity Clinic and feel like patient care is not a priority. read more

Overpriced and a scam their fees for everything they will send you to collections over seven dollars and they will often offer you unnecessary testing that cost hundreds of dollars, done by them of course. Doctors will often quit or be terminated with a day or two's notice to patients. Therapy here goes about as deep as a Google search would, just the most bland generic CBT slop. Sounds like a horrible place to work for judging by the fact they have their staff write positive reviews. read more

Two years later, I was able to get my diagnosis reviewed by a panel of psychiatrists, and, after an interview with me, the panel decided that I definitely do have ADHD, and that Clarity Clinic's diagnosis was clearly wrong. I was seeing a doctor here for a year and never saw a bill and never had a balance on my online portal, no evidence of the amount or what percent insurance covered, and then all of a sudden they say they have sent an outstanding balance to collections and canceled my appointment day of, when I need my prescriptions refilled. I've emailed, messaged on facebook and in their portal begging for any tangible paper evidence of my billing history and this debt and no one will give me anything. read more

I've been doing online visits every few months at this clinic for a little over a year for medication management for anxiety and depression. Nothing complex. My first psychiatrist left with NO warning, and today I received notice my new psychiatrist has left and can't make the scheduled appointment. Again NO warning. Just a text and email basically saying, "Sorry, she's gone, but here's a personally selected physician's assistant we've matched to your needs." What?! Once again, they've chosen to replace my degreed psychiatrist with a physician's assistant? It doesn't take a PhD to know that about the worst thing a medical practice can do to someone with anxiety is changing doctors and treatment midstream with no warning and NO input from the client. This is beyond impersonalized care. If you need help, look elsewhere. read more

More than that, Dr. Rao has kind and appropriate manners, and is full of intelligent ideas and well-founded theories concerning how to maintain the balance in "brain health" through the longevity of time-- he took the time to carefully listen to all my concerns: what was unright, what was not balanced in my life, and then, through discussion with me, helped us together find an appropriate combination of medicines that set my balance just right! If I had the ability to leave no stars I would. I made an appointment with a provider using the ZocDoc function for my child. The morning of his appointment I was called by the clinic cancelling the appointment because the provider called in sick. The appointment was rescheduled for two weeks later, to which I received an email requesting that I fill out an entire new patient packet. I had already done that before the first appointment so I called the office to find out why I would need to fill out another packet considering the amount of time and the number of forms and surveys that needed to be done (16!). The receptionist then stated that it wasn't necessary, but I would have to fill out the minor forms as they weren't included in the first packet. I did my part, and received a phone call today TWO HOURS before the appointment informing me that the appointment is cancelled because the provider does not see patients in this age group. The person I spoke with stated that the appointment was not set as a minor appointment, even though two weeks ago I was given minor forms to fill out and sign. This practice has extremely disorganized appointment setting policies and should not utilize ZocDoc if they cannot distinguish the types of patients their providers are qualified to see. They have had four weeks to discover their error and waited until TWO HOURS before the appointment to inform us that we could not be seen and could not offer an alternative. We waited a month for this appointment and now I am left starting over trying to find a provider that sees teens. I'm concerned that there will be a disruption in medications. And for those that wonder, I have been searching for a provider that I can bring my son to without taking him out of school and without me having to miss work, as I am also a provider and worry about how my time off affects my patients' schedules. read more

Clarity on Belmont accepted an appointment for my daughter to see PA-C Emilie Mies Clarity Clinic - Belmont. They were aware that we live in Indiana. My daughters first appointment today lasted 2 minutes after finding out that my daughter lives in Indiana. The provider rudely stated "I don't see Indiana residents and hung up on my daughter. I am a Registered Nurse who is disgusted with how my daughter was treated and with the Mental Health Care in this area. To Emilie Mies PA-C, you accepted this appointment, I will report you for your rudeness and lack of professionalism and care. You do in fact have a responsibility to be cordial and kind. I've had an amazing experience working with Dr Emily Hoag at the River North location for the last 6 months or so. The staff at the front desk who supports these doctors and therapists are truly exceptional and really care about us, your patients. I was having difficulty with my portal and they walked me through several options and I was also having trouble paying my bill. They were able to clear my balance immediately during one phone call. Specifically Tevia and Yousef at the front desk are amazing!! I would trust them with any problem that you have for they always have a solution with a smile! I highly recommend clarity and Dr Emily Hoag as well as her amazing support staff. If you're looking for a real psychiatrist MD that understands multiple diagnoses medical and psychiatric, and not a nurse practitioner or NP for short, Dr Emily Hoag MD is your person! She was my fifth psychiatrist in the last year and the only one who could solve many of my issues and continues to do so to this day. Thank you all at River North you are amazing! read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I started seeing a provider at this clinic after being diagnosed with and going through treatment for breast cancer. To help me deal with the anxiety and depression I was experiencing, my provider prescribed Wellbutrin. Well, I'm taking Tamoxifen which is a drug reduces the chance of recurrence of cancer. After months of being on Wellbutrin, my oncologist's office called me concerned about the interaction between the two drugs. Turns out, Wellbutrin affects the efficacy of Tamoxifen. I immediately messaged my provider who took no responsibility and didn't even apologize for such a careless mistake. read more

My psychiatrist (Dr. Maharaja) was extremely negligent with my medication and I ended up in the ER because of it. My brother-in-law works in pharmaceuticals and helped me get the emergency help that I needed and basically helped save my life. He was furious with how Dr. Maharaja handled the situation and said it was definitely malpractice. Now that I'm switching providers, I've contacted them at least 6 times to get my medical records, and have gotten no responses. Clarity Clinic is truly awful. There are some good therapists and psychiatrists at Clarity, but the office staff is rude, lazy, dismissive, condescending and very abusive toward patients. First, you can never speak to a human being or a provider on the phone and there is no way to send a secure message to them. Hello, it is 2022 and every other doctor's office has this capability. As a result, when there was a dosage error with my medication, it took DAYS to resolve and I was without medication. I don't know why a practice that charges such high rates treats patients this poorly, but I guess this is a supply and demand issue and they can mistreat people and will still have patients. If I were an owner or practice manager here, I would be very very embarrassed by the incompetence of the staff, particularly in billing. As you may know, the CEO of Clarity Clinic was disciplined by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation in June 2021 because they employed a fraudulent practitioner there for some time. This is really indicative of the way the entire practice is run. From a compliance/ethics/business practices standpoint Clarity Clinic it is a flaming garbage dump. I hope the great Clarity Clinic therapists leave this horrific factory of abuse and start small, thriving practices FAR AWAY from the ignorant, rude office staff and management. read more

In march of 2024 I was placed on a waitlist for the Arlington Heights location. The appointment was for one of my autistic children. May 15th I recevied a text stating "You were referred by your Clarity Clinic ...for an appointment..use this link to book...if you need help booking, respond with H." I clicked the link and it took me to a web page that essentially said there were no therapists available for me...I was confused. So I responded with "H" for help. Received a message stating "Thank you! Your message has been received. I representative will contact you within 48 hours." Never received a call from anyone. On 5/18/24 received same message with a link to book an appointment...link still didn't work. Responded with H again...no one ever called me. On 5/23 I text "H" again and again received a message that someone would contact me within 48 hours (you guessed it! -Nothing!) On 5/24 I received another message with a link to book...link still saying no therapists available for me....responded with H again...no call. Got another message with a link on 5/27 now stating "we noticed you haven't booked your appointment yet. Please book using this link....if you need help...respond with H". AGAIN, I responded with H- same message again that someone would contact me within 48 hours....STILL no call from anyone. Finally I got fed up and called them. They tell me I'M NOT ON THEIR WAITLIST....ummm WHAT? They put me back on their waitlist to start all over again, except they claim they will place me at the front of the list and 'make a note' of what happened (to explain for why I was being placed at the front of the waitlist)....I hear nothing until 8/15/24 (so they must not have put me at the front of the list b/c this is the same amount of time I waited the first time around...). So 8/15 I get the same message saying 'you have been referred...click this link to schedule...if you need help...." So I click the link and it brings me to the RIVER NORTH location (?!). Never wanted the River North location...I wanted the Arlington Heights location (so now what? Put me back on the waitlist AGAIN??)...I respond with "H"...no call. Get another text on 8/18 "we noticed you haven't booked your therapy appointment yet...." J$s#s chri$t! I FINALLY get a call on 8/28 (missed the call/voicemail) and the person states they are calling from the River North location..So I call back on 8/30 and tell them the whole damn journey I've been on with them and to please remove me from their list because I no longer trust them. This place is SO disorganized. What a damn mess! Clearly no one is even responding to their automated system - so why use it? Why are you wasting people's time having them respond with "H" for help when it's likely no one is actually going to respond to it!? I work in the mental health field...this is unacceptable. The billing department is very efficient at their job, the Drs and staff, not so much.

Unorganized and wasted weeks of our time. My partner and I made an appointment for our first session of couples therapy weeks ago. On the day of the appointment we were called and told that the therapist doesn't provide that therapy. This is a therapist who when you search couples therapy on the site, they are listed and we were also able to book an online appointment under this specific kind of therapy. Worst of all-- we were not alerted shortly after booking-- but weeks later on the day of the appointment, even after numerous calls between now and the time of booking to check insurance coverage and fill out appropriate forms. We were sincerely disappointed and feel completely burnt out about seeking therapeutic help. The Clarity Clinic organization preys on patients struggling with mental health issues, in a time when there is a shortage of mental health providers. See for yourself! Just try calling their phone number and see how long it takes to get through to an actual person. Now, imagine you needed to reach your doctor to leave a message or to ask a question. Trust me, unless you spend the entire day on the phone following up, explaining and re-explaining your situation, no one is going to reply. We all know psychiatrists aren't the most easy people to get ahold of. But you won't believe what a hellish nightmare it is to even send your doctor a message (via email or phone). 2) THEIR REPLIES TO YELP REVIEWS DEMONSTRATE HOW THEY OPERATE A good indication of how Clarity Clinic operates is demonstrated in how they reply to their Yelp reviews below. You can see that the ever condescending and disingenuous yet perky "Jessica" seems to have a limited selection of responses from which to cut and paste. One reply that's used repeatedly states that discussing a patient's case is against Federal and State law.......... duh-no one asked Jessica to discuss a patient's case. I had the same experience with a FAKE "Doctor" at Clarity Clinic, who refused to provide his/her name and physician license # after presenting themselves as a doctors during a call in which they violated HIPPA (my wife is a medical practitioner) Look up their record online in the state of IL official records... I was a patient for years until their unethical breach of conduct at the River North location. Very poor experience. Impossible to get directly in touch with provider. Patient was incompetently managed and got worse. Likely due to the practice putting pressure on the providers to stuff as much appointments as possible in a day so the provider cannot manage patient well and not being able to communicate with Dr directly. Received very poor medication management and it caused more damage. As a HCP myself I knew it was incorrect so we left the practice. It also seems the psychiatrists leave because the practice is so bad. I'm specifically not mentioning the dr we saw because I think 50% of the issue was the practice management which bleed into the psychiatrist patient care and clinical ability, so I do not want to put his name to a bad review. But he definitely was rushed and mismanaged the patient care. Stay away if you can. read more

When a doctor takes an oath to practice medicine, they commit to "treat the sick to the best of one's ability" -- sadly, my experience with this "clinic" is a mockery of professional standards, ethics and this oath. This clinic and their doctors should be ashamed of their practices -- and since this is dealing with mental health, I have no words for their lack of professionalism. I was asked to see a psychiatrist for medication management and to explore adjusting anxiety meds after nearly 10 years. I met with Dr T K and while he was nice and genuine, my appointments were very "transactional" and he read through a checklist of questions -- one of my half hour sessions lasted ten minutes max and of course he's billing my insurance company for a longer period. I'm ok with that as long as my needs as a patient are met (and they were), but he's now got some extra time on his hands... (you'll see where I'm going with this shortly). Fast forward a few weeks and after trying a new medication and battling some minor side effects, I realized I was also having more serious ones. I noticed a correlation between the time of day when I took a pill and the specific side effect, which was pretty severe and quite concerning. Dr T K was very friendly in the session and told me to let him know if I had any concerns or issues and to contact the office if so. Well, I did just that and the way they addressed it is why they're getting a 1-star review and why I'm warning others to just stay away. So let's just say the "office" was like a prison fence keeping me away from the doctor. I didn't know how to contact the doctor, so I sent an email to the general inbox asking them to have the doctor call me as I was having "severe side effects". A short reply was sent back to me saying that I should "contact [their] office to speak with our call center" but that she forwarded my message to my doctor. So - the word "call center" was used and to me, that sounds like I'm calling an airline or the cable company -- as in there are hundreds of "customers" and basically I'm just a number. (And based on other reviews here, my gut reaction is correct with that impression.) I had an appointment booked for about a month out but couldn't really continue to deal with these side effects for that much longer, so I was hoping for a quick call from the doctor or perhaps take a slot from a cancelled appointment. I was not expecting to be seen same day or even next day, I just wanted to speak to the doctor briefly. If you call a doctor and tell him or her you're having side effects from medication they prescribed -- under their medical license -- chances are you'd have a chance to speak to them relatively soon to address the issue. Remember, there's liability here AND we are talking about mental health issues. So it's not just a pesky nail infection or ingrown hair we're talking about -- for some patients in distress, what if it was truly a matter of life or death? I received a follow up email and was told QUOTE "since he does not have any sooner openings, that you call our office, and we schedule you with another provider to be seen to discuss these side effects you are experiencing UNQUOTE. As my appointment was a month away, I was mortified at this response considering Dr T K blew through my prior appointments in 10 minutes leaving 20 minutes free. And what about a waitlist for cancellations...? Oh, they don't do those. I need to check back on the website to see if something opened up sooner. Thankfully for the last month, I've been successfully tapering myself off this medication that was prescribed by Dr T K because he was just too busy to treat me and my unexpected severe side effects. If anyone is thinking of using this clinic, beware. Yes psychiatrists are in short supply - but find one that will truly care about your well-being and be there for you when something doesn't go according to plan. While Dr T K does have a medical degree, he doesn't appear to have the ethics that most MDs have, where they took an oath to treat patients to the best of their ability. A five or ten minute phone call isn't too much to ask for -- but perhaps with these folks, maybe it is because perhaps it's not a billable event? They have a high turnover rate for employees it seems and the way they handle business is awful. In the 1 year I have been a patient at Clarity, I have seen 4 different providers. Basically all commutation with the office is by voicemail only, which is pretty problematic. This might be due to COVID, but it's been over a year and still doesn't seem to be worked out. My last straw with them- My psychiatrist left the practice and I got notified via letter in the mail after the fact, and future appointments cancelled. There weren't any recommendations for other doctors to see, rescheduling of my appointment, or process of transition. Because it takes several weeks to book medical appointments, I have since run out of prescription refills and am currently withdrawing from my antidepressants. (Have been on these for a couple of years and at a max dosage so I'll just say that it is not a pleasant experience.) I contacted the office and left a voicemail before I completely ran out of medication () that was never returned. Do yourself and loved ones a favor and find a practice that is better at handling business, their employees, and their patients. (This isn't at all a reflection on the actual providers, as they all seem to be great people.) read more
