If I'm being stupid about something, she will fix me with her eye and tell me straight-on that I'm being stupid about it. She also can connect my reactions and common themes in seemingly unrelated events in my life, exposing patterns that I can attempt to change, if necessary, or deal with and explore more. Add to that, she's just a good person. I've never gotten any sterile, distant vibe from her, and when I leave a session, I nearly always feel better about life in general, or any specific problem I had when I walked in the door. Dr. Lippman is teaching me - giving me the tools - to be able to handle the stressful parts of my life on my own. I totally respect her for that. And now that I have a solid, recurring day/time on her calendar, I can Yelp her without fear that she'll get too swamped with new clients to see me! Sweet!

She remembers life events without referring to her patient files - it's quite impressive how she connects. Her style is quite simply "no beating around the bush" or "no b.s.". Questions are asked, information is dissected and she provides answers and the necessary tools. When I am "having a moment" she will simply smile and say "Come on now you know the answer". I laugh and then we move on to the next topic. Recently I went in with what I think is a very challenging situation and without hesitation she told me exactly how to solve it, Dr. Lippman followed up with an email, and I was left feeling like the situation is going to be resolved (sooner than later). I started seeing Dr. P shortly after moving to Chicago. I was going through a lot of change and I was looking to get adjusted and in a really healthy place mentally. I've dealt with anxiety all my life and I was ready to get it under control. A friend from work recommended her and I'm so glad that she did! I'd say I connected with Dr. P immediately. She made me feel right at home, never pushed me too hard but just enough to get me to focus on improving certainly things about myself. It didn't take long before I was looking forward to our appointments. I'd often come knowing what I needed to talk about and what I needed to work on. But if I didn't, she knew what to say to get me going. Talking with her really helped me process and reflect on things in my life. From there, I was fully capable of dealing with them. After 2.5 years, I can truly say that I am a healthier person, both mentally and physically. The issues I had years ago have improved and I now know how to better handle stress and anxieties that come with everyday life. We were allowed to make a couple of fit changes for one of our minors. Once we found the "right" counselor, it bloomed.
