Update 7/2/23. All the features, design and initial assistance with the punch list items were great…read moreas in my original review. Last year, when I had a major roof leak, I attempted contacting them, as the leak was due to improper installation, where no flashing had been installed as is required at a roof overhang. $8k in repairs later that I had to endure because they wouldn't respond to calls or emails and I didn't want to go through the hassle and expense of a lawsuit. A 10 year defect warranty is only good if the builder will abide by it. I only remembered I had this review when we saw an Open House sign for them today that directed to a street where there was no model home to be found. This is a great metaphor for Sierra Homes.

bought house in 2019 and was told home warranty would cover all repairs for 1 year- We had a lot…read moreof problems so we would call warranty people and They kept callinjg Sylvester Harding(owner, realtor, builder of sierra homes) and not one thing got fixed. We are trying to sue him, but he has locked himself in his compound and we havent been able to serve papers in over a year. Cracks in floor from one end of house to another, across porch ,porch ceiling. No return calls-We tried to put pool in but Sierra had bulldozed wet lands, so county fined us $4300 as we were new owners (part of our lawsuit). The survey Sylvester gave us showed no wetlands, but the county had one dated same day that showed wetlands. His surveyor is part of law suit as he deleted wetlands per Sylvester, sent him a copy for us, then put the wetlands back in survey later that day (we have time stamped copies proving this) Surveyor said sylvester called him and had wetlands mitigated and to send copy without, then called later that day and said mitigation didn't go through, so send me a real copy which he gave to Orange county. 1st day we were her, hanging clothes in closet, shelves fell down as they hadnt hit a single 2x4. Toilet in master bath pluged 1st night. Long story, employees had put put spray foam down drain where it hardened-cost us $3500 to use cameras to find problem. Sylvester said it was probably diaper-youngest child was 39 (part of our lawsuit) There literally is not enough space in here to write all problems (I'm realizing this as I am typing) Suffice to say, best thing to do is call me live 407-765-6181Pete Baker

My husband and I came in to look at a new build townhome. We brought our 1 year old son with us and…read moreimmediately should have left when condescending greeted for our appointment with "oh you brought your little decision maker." We were never asked a budget or what we were looking for. But we're told multiple times that we should just break our current lease and buy now...why? Because according to the sales agent, their fiscal year ends May 31st. Told on her self there. The homes themselves were very nice and we definitely considered what life would look like if we bought one while touring. Upon coming back to the sales office, our agent reviewed pricing and pushed a larger, more expensive home we didn't even go see. Mind you, she added an extra 0 into one of the numbers which skyrocketed the monthly quote she gave us (which she didn't catch until we had driven home). When we finally gave her our monthly budget she said we were unrealistic. Yet remove that extra zero and it would have in fact been pretty close. She really discredited herself multiple time and I had no confidence in her even if we were to move forward. We ultimately didn't because lake Nona was not the right fit but I would have asked for a new more trustworthy sales rep.

POOR QUALITY! We…read morepurchased a brand-new home in Meridian Park just one month ago, and we're already dealing with serious issues. One of the AC units suddenly began making a loud noise. When we inspected it, we found that the fan had come off and damaged the unit, creating a hole. It began overheating and leaking refrigerant. The technician who came the next day was shocked--he said he had never seen anything like this in his career. He confirmed the refrigerant was leaking and that the damage was significant. Despite this, the only solution the warranty team and AC company are offering is to replace parts of the unit. For a brand-new home, this is unacceptable. The unit already has physical damage and will likely lead to corrosion and more problems down the line. To make things worse, they now claim that the parts needed are on backorder. It is hard to understand how these homes are being built and sold at such a rapid pace, yet they cannot provide a functioning AC unit--or even the replacement parts in a timely manner. We are asking for what's fair: a completely new AC unit for a new home. We should not have to settle for patched-up equipment and delayed fixes. This has been incredibly frustrating and disappointing, and not the experience we expected when purchasing a new construction home.
