So when we found ourselves all gathered back in Middleburg Heights again this year we made reservations and they graciously accommodated our group of 20. Our server, Gina was very helpful, friendly, outgoing, and did an amazing job taking care of our large group! The food was excellent too! Their stuffed peppers weren't spicy, like I like, but the filling and sauce was so darn tasty! Their papperdelle was incredible! Oh my gosh.... This place is a dream! Tucked away in a charming old building in the heart of Historic Olmsted Falls! Love this area, it's so adorable. The food is absolutely legendary! I've been here twice in one week! Once for dinner, then today for Sunday brunch. Their crab cakes, are the stuff of legends, seriously! Out of this world. The Caesar salad had excellent flavor. My entree at dinner was beef medallions with truffle oil, risotto and broccolini. It was outstanding! My martinis were perfection. Brunch was a whole 'nother experience. I had chicken and waffles... I cannot express how phenomenal the flavor profile as well as the texture was with this dish. Chicken AND THE WAFFLE, were flawlessly crunchy/crisp then the waffle was perfectly soft inside. The flavor on the breading and syrup was deliciously salty/sweet with a tiny bit of heat! Perfect!! Apologies for the poor quality on the photos... Made a reservation for 6, but ended up having 7 and they were very accommodating even on a busy Friday night. I shared a bottle of wine and for $34 (that price is unheard of it), it was amazing. The bread for the table was warm and soft. I got one of the specials and it was so delicious. The servings are all really big, which leftovers Italian is always yummy. 4th time here, 1st To-Go order & we were fairly disappointed. The 8 cheese raviolis were dry inside and the sauce was not great & metallic tasting (from a can?). That came w/ a soup. We chose potato leek and it had good flavor but mega salty, like they accidentally doubled the portion. It came in a tiny container and the meal was $20. Yikes. The sauce on the appetizer meatballs was tasty though - more thick & chunky. The meatballs were not mushy at least, like we just had at a place in little Italy. Unfortunately there were only 3 included in the appetizer! That was hard to believe at $14.00! The cheese pizza was French bread style & sorta small at $14 but it was tasty & cheesy. So for $48 it was just enough to feed 3. Not a great value so we would likely not get a to go order again. The order came out 10 mins before quote so luckily we were early. read more

My fiancé and I stopped by here with her son to try out some of the dishes from their menu as we plan to use this location for our reception. This restaurant is a beautiful place, roomy, and quite comfortable. We tried out the shrimp Matteo on the idea that we will be using the chicken Matteo the lemon chicken and the chicken marsala. The hostess allowed us to try some of the sauces, the regular red, there marinara, a vinaigrette type of sauce, as well as the lemon sauce that is the base for the lemon chicken and the Matteo sauces. We met the head Chef and there was a small miscommunication between the hostess and the head chef. This will probably be my only Downside is that neither seemed to agree on what would be in one dish or another. The chef informed us that the sauce for the chicken Matteo would be the same as the sauce for the shrimp Matteo except the chicken is breaded. But it would have the capers and the lemony Zest taste. Hostess did not think there was capers in the sauce. I felt the sangria was a little Too red, tart, so we asked for it to be sweetened a little at which point it was yum, and strong. Everything was very very salty though we were informed that the chef adds no salt so it must be some of the additional bits going into the sauce. Capers, of course, are very salty. The chicken marsala seemed to be a bit rubbery than mine, which was the lemon chicken. My chicken was very soft, very tender and very juicy. We did have an issue with two of the desserts. Well, one of the desserts. We ordered two desserts to take home to try and one of them was good and the other had spoiled. We've already been in touch regarding this. All in all I look forward to returning and testing more dishes. read more

Everything about this place was amazing. We went here to celebrate our father's retirement dinner (as a family of 7). Our server, Myra, was amazing and very attentive and knew the menu very well. She also made sure to give us extra attention as we had children and our elderly parents who had special needs. Food was incredible. We had calamari, mussels, arancini and meatballs to start, followed by soup and salad, and we all had entrees. The bread was amazing too. We have always enjoyed Matteo's. The new ownership team continues to provide great food and an enjoyable dining experience. We recently held a private event for my wife's retirement at Matteo's. Every aspect of the event from planning to the event itself went well beyond our expectations. Food, service and accommodations were excellent. Jessica made the planning very easy explaining the different food/drink options available. She was very responsive in getting back to me on any questions I had. The Matteo's team was very flexible with the menu allowing us to accommodate various dietary considerations. The food and service during the event were outstanding. Jessica and Deserai attended to all our needs, while the staff working behind the scenes kept the great food coming out. Food was kept replenished and the drinks were served without delay. Kudos to all working the party that day. I highly recommend Matteo's for private parties. We sure will keep them in mind for future events. Great place, I called about a week ahead for reservations, asked about their scotch selection because my friend from out of town was going with us and he preferred a certain brand that they normally didn't have, she said she would look into it and when our group arrived she had the scotch waiting for us!! I haven't been surprised in a good way by a restaurant for years. Anyway the food was outstanding with good portions and the staff was excellent. Great food, vast menu, specials are on point and who doesn't love Olmsted Falls! This was our second visit and the food didn't disappoint, the initial service wasn't so good, but did I mention the food...it's really good. I opted for the scallops this time around, perfectly seasoned and cooked, not overdone. The beet salad was amazing, so good I almost ordered a second one. I tried my husbands pasta and the sauce was authentic. We have had the opportunity to sit in the main dining room and the bar, admittedly the service is spotty, my opinion but I feel like unless you are regular the wait staff seems to overlook you. But...the food makes up for it. I like to think everyone has an off night or two. read more

It's in a great spot of Olmsted Falls, and I personally like the ambiance throughout the restaurant. I went as a party of 2 and was greeted promptly. Entrees come with a salad/soup and bread with butter. I really enjoyed the salad and the bread was nice and fresh! However, I ordered the "Italian Mac and Cheese", which I had ordered there before they changed to new ownership. I was served a completely different dish, that was extremely salty. It was truly inedible. I just wish they would have disclosed that better on the menu. I was absolutely not expecting that dish to be what I had ordered. read more

My mom suggested matteos when we were very hungry on a Saturday late afternoon.... and I had to remind her it was Valentine's weekend! We called anyway and him the gentleman on the phone was so kind, didn't make us feel bad for not making reservations. He got us a table right away. First- If you've never been to Grand Pacific Junction, the little neighborhood where Mattteos is, so yourself a favor and check it out. It's a cute little village with shops and restaurants and a train. We adore it. The atmosphere in Matteos is beautiful. Very warm and romantic. We sat upstairs. We started with a charcuterie board which was very full and delicious. The menu listed a few things which were not on my charcuterie. So that was a little disappointing. Then we had the shrimp bruschetta with limoncello glaze- delish! Everything about the salad was perfect as well as the bread with dipping oil. Which of course my mother made the joke to the server 'well that's mine where's everyone else's?' So original. Mom, dad, and husband all really loved their meals. They were beautifully presented, perfectly cooked, And I think excellent portions for the price. I didn't want to brag to them... but my meal was really the tops. I got the Gorgonzola crusted steak with balsamic glaze. Wow- what flavor! I loved how everything came together. The steak was cooked to perfection. And the mashed potatoes were rich and creamy. Our server was awesome. Even in a busy night she was attentive and very good at her job. We all kept talking about what a perfect meal we had and I can't wait to go back. There's so much on the menu! We live local so finding this place was a dream . We have had plenty of dishes here and they were all great until a couple of months ago . They changed the bread (which was my favorite) and it just didn't taste good . We got the chicken Cesar salad and the chicken was seasoned to perfection . The lettuce was crispy and fresh and the cheese was delicious. My children like the kids spaghetti here and say it is really good . We were promptly greeted and seated. We enjoyed the music that was playing. Our waitress was delightful! The salads were good; the bread even better. And we relished our meals! My husband ordered the lasagna and he said it was some of the best he had ever had. I ordered the lemon chicken. I usually order piccata when I'm out, and this was that, minus the capers, and I have to say that it was THE best I have ever had!
