The entire staff is welcoming and helpful. We had a great server, Cam. We were a party of six, seated by the front window. Unlike other venues, we had no trouble hearing our conversations! Came here on a recent weekday to meet up with my wife and an old, dear friend. We settled into our booth and were energetically served by a lovely waitress who guided us through the meal. A basket of fresh, warm bread and butter arrived, so we dug into that while we awaited the next course. My wife ordered the chicken piccata meal and I the chicken parmesan. Both dishes came with a nicely prepared house salad (topped with sliced cucumbers, black olives, cherry tomatoes and shredded mozzarella cheese) served with a homemade Italian dressing. I found the lunch portion of chicken parmesan with spaghetti to be generous and their red sauce on the zestier side (which I love). Chicken was moist, under a blanket of baked cheese and there was enough leftovers to make another meal for me the next day. Glad we gave this spot a go, and I'd definitely return if in the area again. read more

This is a tiny restaurant that is huge on customer service. We were greeted with such warmth. I have never experienced such great staff all around. The food was fantastic. I had the baked cod over risotto. That was bursting with flavor. The lemon chicken soup was delicious. I will be returning very soon. read more

Tis a quick 6 years since I first reviewed Bistro on 130, and we are / have been regulars since. Real tablecloths, napkins, great but not garish decor. Hand made pasta with sauce rivaling our Italian "Nonna".. Lunch menu is concise, excellent and always a great value. (You'll pay more for fast food). Full bar. Come, meet the friendly staff and enjoy some Italian cooking. You don't have to go downtown and pay $300 to have a memorable 5 star experience. read more

Mellisa, , mgr, made hubby and I feel like we were home visiting friends at this restaurant. So warm and kind. First time in as we were visiting area from Columbus. Fall decor was beautiful. The chicken Parmesan with homemade angel hair (Dubstitute) was delicious. Husband enjoyed the homemade lasagna. Devious. We accidentally find thomson Yelp, looking for Italian not far from the airport. First good thing is that it was busy. They managed to find us a table. The manager waited on us and recommended Chicken Francaise for me. My husband had seafood linguine alfredo, a mishmash from the menu again recommended. The food was outstanding. We tried Bistro on 130 shortly after they opened pre-COVID. My wife was far more impressed than I, and we have continued to visit other higher-end locally owned Italian restaurants since, but I have always balked at a return visit. Keep in mind, we could probably walk there in 15 minutes if there were better sidewalks on W.130th. The wife pressed again and today, and I finally agreed to give it another try. First, let me start with the positives. It's a nice little cozy atmosphere with the bar open to the medium lit dining room. The service is excellent - very well staffed, especially when taking into account the trouble most places are having. You'll never wait for excellent house made warm bread, drinks, or the opportunity to place an order for more apps or your meal. The Happy Hour pricing for large apps and drinks is respectable. $6 large glasses of Malbec and Cabernet were excellent. The dinners include a side salad or soup, which as far as the French Onion and Caesar salad we had were tasty and a value at their price. Don't expect a crusted over bowl of French Onion, but it was still packed with cheese and delicious. Now, for my issue with the place. They definitely fancy themselves as a "High-End" Italian restaurant. The service, menu, uniforms of the staff and especially pricing all reflect this. Unfortunately, the dinner entree's on my two visits don't live up to the hype. I opted for the seafood linguine, which was in a white wine sauce with "shrimp, scallops, clams and cod". I would call the clams something more like cockles, not much larger than my thumbnail. The Scallops were medium size and decent, one being excessively fishy and a bit of a turn off. The shrimp and cod were obviously grilled and tasted out of place in the dish, if they were just cooked on the side and thrown in. All was served on a bed of linguine and unfortunately drowned in a thin, watery wine sauce. The wife opted for the stuffed cod special, with a lobster cream sauce. I had a bite, and found it okay, and the wife was satisfied but not over the top - and all that dissolved when she saw the price tag on the check. I consider myself to be an above average home cook - not a Chef, by any stretch of the imagination. I feel very confident that if given the budget of our meal and the chance to compete l, I could produce a meal on par or better with any entree I've experienced at Bistro 130. I wouldn't call the food bad, but if it were 30% less of a price tag, I may feel better about the meal. read more

Had a really good meal at Bistro on 130 tonight. We were headed someplace else but pivoted to Bistro this evening. We felt lucky to get a table as another couple didn't show. The food was very good. I had a pasta lobster special. Was very good but a little rich for me. My wife had chicken parm; I tried that too and it was good. Mine came with tomato basil soup and hers a salad. We switched but both good. The service was excellent. We had at least four people stopping by our table regularly and everyone was attentive and friendly. Nick was really great. The ambiance is ok. The place is a little small but not real cramped. The location is out of the way and we never go by here and would not have gone by unless my wife remembered she wanted to try it. Since I'm a pizza connoisseur I am interested in trying that on the next visit. I saw it on a table by ours on the way out and it looked worthy of another visit. Give it a try for yourself sometime soon. read more

Really a 2.5. Ok what's good? My wife said her Chicken was good. Play by play...we all in and there are no seats available for an hour but can seat us at a high top by the bar. No big deal. No one makes an attempt to take a drink order or to say hello for over 15 minutes. But it game us a chance to take in the decorating. It looks ridiculous, maybe not for an old fold breakfast/lunch joint. If you are going to charge big prices get it together. The food...calamari was like eating rubber bands, cheese spread wasn't horrible, bread/salad was solid, the "signature" eggplant dish was like eating goulash. Honestly I have no idea how they are holding down over a four star rating. If you rate this a three or higher you really need to get out more often. Particularly to real Italian restaurants. This review could have been a 3-4 if they didn't charge 5 prices. Food and decor just don't represent the $$$. read more

We ordered to go from here about a year ago and it was really good. Pricey, but the food was great. Decided to try dine in this time. We came around 6pm on n a Thursday. It wasn't busy and had plenty of open tables. The hostess asked if we had a reservation. No, we didn't. We had a party of 4, and they had a lot of open tables. Another lady popped over and said she would seat us, and then told me next time to make a reservation or they might not be able to seat us. Again, it was relatively empty... but ok. Ordered our food. Every 15 minutes or so the waitress would tell us the food would be out soon. 1 hour and 20 minutes AFTER we placed our food order before it arrived. Then, my order was wrong. The waitress went back and looked at the ticket confirming what I ordered and she put in but the kitchen "messed up". Offered to take my plate away and remake it- but at that point I was famished- so just said I'll stick with this. No apologies- didn't offer to adjust the bill or even make it correct for me to take home. No apologies for the long wait. For the prices they charge, I would expect the service and quality of food to match. Next time I'll drive a little further to little Italy and get the authentic stuff. Pizza: 6/10. Good crust, nice sauce, skimpy on the toppings Lasagna: 7/10. Could have been a 10 but served Luke warm. House salad: 4/10. Too many brown pieces of lettuce. Fresh bread on table: 10/10 read more

I love exploring and trying new family owned restaurants. Only one drawback and that is the TV they have in their bar. They play political stations. When I go out to eat, I really don't want to sit there and watch politics. I'd rather watch music videos or something sports. I hope they will take that into consideration. Otherwise, the food is great, the staff is awesome! read more

I may have given this place 4 stars but our waitress wasn't nice to our granddaughter so the stars went down The fried mozzarella was good I got eggplant parm. It wasn't the best I've ever had, but it was good. It was layered, like a lasagna, and not crispy - which is how I like it. It came with a side of penne and had I known, I would have asked for spaghetti. The homemade ranch on the salad was good My husband got Veal Piccata. He said it was good. He got the French Onion Soup which was good too. There isn't a children's menu, so our 5y old Granddaughter had to order a full size spaghetti and meatballs - which was WAY too much food and $15!
