Went to The Brick Oven tonight with my cousins for dinner, and I can't believe it took me over 20 years of living in the area and driving past it countless times to finally try it! I ordered the prosciutto chicken with a glass of Moscato, and it was absolutely excellent. The chicken was perfectly cooked, and the sauce was rich and full of flavor. We were also served fresh-baked bread with whipped garlic butter to start, which was the perfect touch and a great way to kick off the meal. Came in on a Friday during lent for the fish fry and veggie lasagna. Took forever to get waited on, but service improved after that. The chowder had big chunks of veggies in it, but was very light on the clams and flavor. The walleye looked beautiful, but had a very strong fishy taste to it---not good. Also got a side of pirogies which were excellent. The cabbage and noodles was the best item on the table. The lasagna was okay, but also lacked a lot of flavor. This restaurant sponsors a Classic Car Show on Wednesday's 5 pm on. During that time the restaurant offers a reasonably priced buffet outside. If I'm not mistaken it's $10 for one trip and $24 if you want to go up for three trips. They have a DJ playing car show music. Local classic car enthusiast are there with there beautiful cars. This show will go until the end of September. My husband and I like eating from the menu inside. He really likes there spaghetti and meatballs, I've tried their pizza and chicken club sandwich. Just walked in and so far so good. Got seated right away. Ordered Caesar salad. Wings as an app. And the Rosso pizza to see if I can finally find good pizza near Cleveland. Caesar came out and was great. Lite hand made dressing. The wings were also crispy and good. Large order of wings. Really good. Flavor was good could have used a flavored flour to give it a little more flavor but all in all good and cooked perfectly. So far so good. Well the pizza came out and wow was I disappointed. We came here for Mother's Day, first time here, and it probably won't be a go-to for us. Our waitress was so sweet and attentive. I ordered the pasta special, which said it was cheese ravioli with crab on top in a creamy sauce. The sauce was delicious, as was the ravioli, but there really wasn't crab on top......it was imitation crab, which was really disappointing. Not worth the $25 price tag, that's for sure. I also ordered a side salad to go with it, which was underwhelming.......one small grape tomato, one small cucumber slice, and a few slices of shaved carrot, though the white balsamic dressing was pretty good. My boyfriend ordered the Bianca pizza with sausage added (which they skimped on), and it wasn't bad overall. Hate leaving a bad review, but I've been coming here for 10 years and not sure what happened. Used to be great-not so much anymore. Service is awful. Heard the crew swearing and having personal conversations from the kitchen and in the dining room. Our waitress never checked in, took plates, or brought bread. First time at this site and I am pleased to say they are checking all the boxes . Italian cuisine (or pizza) has to be one of the most popular and available restaurants anywhere you go. Thus, it is a delight to find those places that are doing it well. While there is an incredibly casual vibe here, they do pay attention to the the issues that can best define a well managed eatery. First off, the place is clean -- from the menus to utensils. The floor is not carpeted which, unless cleaned weekly, can become a petri dish of organisms and rotting food -- smart move. The glasses, dinnerware, and even napkins (paper, but high end) are well considered and spotless. The table covering, not linen (smart move again) is a synthetic; easily maintained and cleaned. Now on to the food. Having watched Food TV's "Restaurant Impossible," I have come to suspect restaurants with overextended menu selections. Truth be known, they can't handle it. Brick Oven selections are sensible and fill one page -- a sufficient selection of appetizers, entrees, salads, pastas, and pizza. And a couple of desserts. Same with the wines -- Affordable. We chose the house salad, baked bolognese, Veal parmesan, and the house salads. (Grated cheese is extra; not parmesan but okay.) Salads were sufficient and better than average with mixed greens, cuke, and the obligatory cherry tomato. (Might impress me next time with two tomatoes.) But the main dish is the star. Both pasta dishes were extraordinary and well priced (here's hoping they can control prices in this crazy world.) You can see from the photos that the portions (especially on the veal are generous.) Linguini was perfect (and I didn't even caution that I like it al dente -- they know how to cook pasta.) And before I forget --Everything is reputed to be made on site and I believe it. The bread and butters (whipped, one with garlic and parsley) are better than I have gotten in other high end places. Brick Oven is on target and more satisfying than any other Italina I have had in the Strongsville/Middleburg/Parma area. Thanks to staff John, Brittney, and Heidi for a spectacular experience. I start every review with "behind the innocent facade of a..." well, this place is no different. We seek these places out, knowing they exist, and just waiting to be found. This place is delightfully decorated, and could be a suit and tie place with little effort. A word of advice, take it easy on the bread and butter...it is homemade and absolutely delicious! East Coast Pizza Snob here. I'm gonna say this Joint is an Ohio 10! Would stand its ground in Philly or NY too. We or the Rosso with pep and black olives. Good NY style dough and crust - the sauce and cheese is a go! The only thing missing is that classic NY pizza oil that just does nothing seem to be available outside of The East. Really good. Gonna change my four to a five . We had it delivered so I can't speak to anything but product - and what is more important? Not bad!!!! Unfortunately, our food was very subpar. The chicken piccata had zero lemon flavor and was tasteless. The chicken prosciutto was good. We ordered a meatball appetizer which hadn't been delivered to the table even when we were finished with our meal. Our glasses remained empty as no refills of tea were offered. At the end of the meal we questioned why tax was on our bill as our dine-in was during the Ohio tax free period for restaurants. The manager refused to correct our bill when we pointed out that Ohio law states "Since food is taxable when it is dine-in, any menu item, including soft drinks, that is less than $500 would qualify for the sales tax holiday exemption." Under FAQ on the website, "Can vendors choose not to participate in the sales tax holiday? No. The sales tax holiday is set by law and vendors must comply." We were made to look like idiots when we inquired on this. Management would not correct their error. Sadly, we will never return to Brick Oven. read more

I get that it is Covid all around and service is slower. The service has nothing to do with the review. The food was TERRIBLE at best. The breading is so thick you can barely cut thru it without the meat coming out of the breading. Pork chops....dry! Salad looked like it had sat for a while. Visited on a Tuesday at 2 with my 15 yr old son. The place is really nice with plenty of tables and fancy linens and a few tables outside. Plenty of parking. The ladies bathroom is nice with marble countertops and 3 stalls...I know what you're thinking, let's get to the food! We ordered a small pepperoni brick oven pizza (6 nice-sized slices), mozzarella fritta (brings 3 large pcs with marinara sauce), grilled chicken sandwich with fries. All delicious! Oh and they also serve beer and wine for my party people. My only complaint is the bathroom was really dirty which surprised me because the place was empty. But who cares about the bathroom the food was great. I will be back with Clorox wipes and disinfect spray lol jk. read more

Went to lunch by myself on a whim to this location not knowing it was previously connected to the Bucci family restaurants until the waitress and I started talking. Apparently they remodeled at the end of last year and, in my opinion, it looks great ... nice and fresh and clean! I looked at lunch menu online before arriving and had my mind set on the chicken parm with penne but when I got there the chicken piccata sounded good to me ... they removed scallions and added capers. Salad and bread came out ... both were very good ... chicken piccata was perfect!!! Service was excellent too! Nice new find for a fresh made Italian meal, would have never expected such a great little restaurant in the quite strip mall. The service was great our waiter did a fantastic job on serving us with out being annoying and we never had to ask for anything. The menu is of a good size with a lot of great choices and will fit any budget, the atmosphere is typical Italian darker for a more of a romantic feel but I did feel underdressed in jeans and nice tee shirt. The food was very good the bread that came out was very hot and fresh with great taste soup was good as well (think homemade but hard to tell) and our entrée was good as well pasta sauce had nice flavor could have been a little thicker and richer but was good and breaded chicken was top notch. Over all great spot for a quick meal or to start a romantic evening, will definitely come back. read more

I'm leaving this review due to the waitress we unfortunately had for the 5 minutes we were there. ---------- I loved Bucci's Brick Oven in Middleburg Heights. I used to get their angelhair with blush sauce and sausage. They had wedding soup and their bread was so good. It's been about 3-4 years since I've had it. So I drove my mom and I about half hour to this place so I can get what I wanted. I saw that Bucci's is no longer associated with the restaurant which is now known as The Brick Oven. They had a lunch menu and I saw that it said due to the lunch hours, they're only using the limited lunch menu. They had linguine Alfredo and regular macaroni with tomato sauce. I thought making a blush sauce won't be difficult. It wasn't on the Bucci's menu but they always made it. I asked the waitress about it and she was thinking and since I wasn't sure if she knew what blush sauce was, I described it. She replied "I know what it is. I've worked here 24 years". Well excuuuuuuse me. She then said no (without asking a manager) and we can only order what's on the menu. I get limited lunch options and if they couldn't do it, I understand. But did she need to say how long she worked there and do it in a very curt manner? No So we left. I gave it 2 stars because the restaurant looked very nice. Shame we couldn't try any food. Haven't been to this restaurant since before COVID and liked it well enough back then so I thought I'd make a special trip because they don't open until dinner time now, no more lunches, at least not yet. I was greeted immediately seated immediately and a server was there in seconds. So far I can see service hasn't changed. Was 4:15 so not many diners yet. Ordered my iced tea and decided I would splurge today with an appetizer and an entrée. Little did I know that I was going to have so much food I would need two doggie boxes. The entrée I ordered was the cod filet which came with broccoli, roasted potatoes and the biggest salad you ever want to see with enough cheese to make Wisconsin proud. A side salad this was not!! I also was delighted to receive a basket of their bread with herbed butter scoops which is exact same recipe they used couple years ago when I was last there. The appetizer meatballs on bruschetta was stunning. There was two bruschetta slices on the bottom with a giant 3 inch meatball on each slice with a lot of sauce and plenty of cheese. Delivered piping hot; they warned me about touching inner plate which was just in the oven. I ate about half before my entrée arrived which I couldn't even touch. There was so much food and the service remained stellar as it was before the pandemic. This is a little restaurant which I think used to be a Buccis but I'm not sure if it still is or this is a new restaurant name. It's in a strip mall a little bit south of Southland on Smith Rd before the post office. Italian dining at its finest but does NOT smell like pizza parlor!! High praise to this same group of people who have treated us for at least four years I remember. When leaving noticed MANY more patrons filling the left side of eatery and it was 5:30. My personal 'hats off' goes to Brittany, my server today. Hope she enjoys my triple tip to her--she worth every bit of it!!!! Try it. A group of four friends met at the Brick Oven to catch up. We were seat on the patio which had appropriate social distancing. We were promptly greeted by a friendly waitress who was attentive throughout our entire meal. We wanted to enjoy a leisurely evening and did not feel rushed. We all enjoyed our meals. The cavetelli with meatballs was delicious, served with warm bread with regular and flavored butter. The side salad was plentiful and fresh. The Brick Oven offers great value and delicious food. The portions are so large my pasta will be and additional meal or maybe even 2 meals! I only wish I lived closer!! read more
