My husband and I were staying at a local RV park in Kemah, TX in a new to us travel trailer a few years ago and realized we needed a new mattress. While driving to lunch we passed Mattress Pro Discounters. Good thing we saw the box truck out front or we would have missed it. The salesman we had was Mike and he was so helpful in directing us to the right mattress for the travel trailer. We were really pleased with the value we got and the mattress. We moved to the area a while back and needed a new king size mattress for ourselves. We were so pleased with our first purchase from Mike we went back and bought an adjustable bed from him. We are needed another mattress for a guest room and will definitely be headed to Mattress Pro Discounters for this purchase. I am so glad we saw his box truck out front and stopped into shop. It is impossible for Mattress Mike to get a bad review. This guy is top notch at what he does plus super friendly and will take care of you after the sale for any warranty issues. I have been buying from him for 12 years and just had to warranty out a part on my adjustable bed and he helped me get it repaired in a couple of days. His showroom is clean and fully stocked with beds and he sells furniture also. Any bad review is for Mattress Discounters which is a different company all together. Bought a bedroom set from this place. He does not have a lot of furniture but sells Coasters products. I am the kind of person that calls around every where for prices and he gave my family the best price. Paid on Tuesday got my bed delivered to my house Friday. We bought a mattress from Mattress Firm and it was on back order a few weeks with a confirmed delivery date. Mattress Firm notified me the day before that not only would the mattress not be delivered; they did not know when I could expect it. That day, we went to Mattress Pro Discounters as it had good local reviews, not expecting too much. However, Mattress Mike a significant inventory of great mattresses and had just what we wanted. He showed us several different options; and delivered it to our home two hours later. We went from waiting a month with no mattress and three attempts to cancel our order with MF to having exactly what we wanted from Mattress Mike in less than three hours. this place is a joke. I bought a mattress from this gut about six months ago. I called today asking him why my bed squeaked so much and he told me "to stop crying" I went into the shop and he later proceeded to cuss me out. He was yelling at me and throwing out multiple cuss words. He said I was a "punk bitch" and he told me to "fuck off". the mattress was very cheap but not that comfortable. this guy is a complete ass. I am a customer of Mattress Pro Discounter. What the others have said about this place is true (rude salespeople and no fair after sale service) One thing that irks me about their sales tactics is they flood Craigslist with dozens of ads per day in the for sale by owner section. They must have a computer program that posts versions of their ads over and over. When I look for items on Craigslist, I end up having to scroll through all of his ads. I'm wondering if they can disregard Craigslist's terms of service and use Craigslist unfairly, what other tricks are they playing with their customers. read more

If it was possible to give no stars, we would. My husband was referred to this place to get a great deal on a Tempurpedic bed. They have Tempurpedic signs everywhere, they advertise it on their business cards. The problem? They don't sell Tempurpedic! They sell a no name economy brand, but don't bother telling you that's what you are actually buying. My husband asked for a Tempurpedic bed, and is now stuck with this no name mattress, because they also don't offer refunds! This is clearly a bait and switch operation. Do NOT shop here! read more

From the moment my wife and I walked in there, the salesmen Johnny was offensive, blunt and stereotypical to us. He talked more than he listened and he tried to pressure close. When we finally had enough and left, it was a relief. From what I've read from others, Mr. Benitz sounds like a really nice guy. But please find better salesmen. **UPDATE** Johnny read my review and decided to call me, not to discuss the horrible experience we had, but instead, to tell me that my review about my experience was unfair and that he has a family to feed. I'm sure he had more to say, but I have no interest in having a conversation with a scam artist who is only trying to sell yet another scam. The absolute worst customer experience ever. We walked in looking for a mattress and box spring. We saw a floor model, and the salesman, John, stated that we would be receiving "everything you see right there." After confirming that we would get "everything, including this bed frame?" while physically touching the footboard of the bed frame, he stated yes. My mother and father were present at the time. We bought the showroom model for $400.00, which included the floor model mattress for $250, the floor model box spring for $100, and the wooden bed frame on display for $50. We were delivered the bed, boxspring, and a metal frame, which is the cheap base with the wheels. NOT what we agreed upon. After calling them back to discuss it, he stated that there was just a miscommunication, and that we got a really good deal. That particular mattress is sold brand new in wrap for $250, the boxspring brand new in wrap is $100, and the basic metal frame brand new in box is $60. So essentially he gave us a $10.00 discount. The $400.00 deal was truly a deal when we were told we were getting the floor model headboard and footboard included, which he very blatantly said we would receive. But, when we got scammed. And of course, like every other scam artist, no refunds and no returns. Awful place of business. Heed the advice of the previous reviews. It's a shady place, with a shady salesman, and any place that will not accept refunds or returns is the biggest red flag you can receive. A big lesson learned. read more

"Mattress Mike" is the real deal. I visited him today to buy a new twin mattress for myself, a few years ago he supplied a twin mattress to my wife. He has a small but complete climate-controlled showroom, I tried them all out, he has a wide selection, with a wide price range. I the end, I selected a memory foam mattress and I probably saved 50% on it compared to buying at Mattress Firm, Mattress Pro, or some other retailer with a high mark-up. He can ship, but I brought mine home myself. Done! It's great. read more

I also checked out a craigslist ad for this place, and when we went to see the mattress in question we decided it definitely wasn't what we wanted. I did try out some mattresses there and talked to the guy who was there about my needs in a mattress, (ie needed firm, not memory foam or I would just need a new mattress in a few months). The display area was pretty small and crowded but there were still quite a few models available to try. He did warn us about another place we were going to check out while in the area, and when we were there we basically got confirmation of the things he was saying. It did take me a while to save up for the mattress, but I called them when I had the money together and ordered a Simmons Beautyrest mattress from them. I just couldn't find a better price elsewhere as everywhere else was looking for a few hundred more for a similar model. I wasn't super impressed by the lone college student that was doing the delivery. If I had been by myself he would have had to drag the king mattress in by himself (I'm just not physically able to help) and the protective plastic probably would have torn on the pavement on the way in. Thankfully I had someone there who could help him. If it hadn't been for the delivery I would have given this place an even higher rating. read more

Store does not stand behind their product. Mike, the owner, sold us a memory foam mattress. At the time of the sale he told us he wanted us to be happy. After the first night i called that the mattress was not comfortable and had hot spots which he had told us would not happen, Mike said to give it time, and when i called again he said there was nothing he could do. Well a few months later, the mattress collapsed on one side and i called again about the defect where i was told they would do nothing. The "manager" said Mike would not call us back and he has not. We went in again today and the "manager" again told us. Mike would not call and that they will do nothing for a defective mattress. The mattresss is not even 6 months old and has collapsed on one side. This store will not back up their product. They will tell you one thing, but be sure to read the fine print on their receipt. read more

The owner Mike helped my girlfriend and I find the perfect mattress yesterday. He was super helpful, kind and professional. Mike is not a pushy salesman. He was extremely informative and knows his product very well. My GF and I got all the info we needed, told him we would be shopping around a bit more and departed. We looked at Mattress One and Mattress Firm and did not receive near as good of service as Mike gave us. We found only one other mattress that was like the one we had selected at Mattress Pro but it was $200 more and wasn't including any memory foam pillows like Mike had offered us at Mattress Pro. We returned to Mattress Pro Discounters later in the day to close the deal on our Kingsize Mattress. Mike gave us a BOGO on the pillows we sampled with the mattress we settled on. We felt really good after making that big purchase which is a feeling we don't typically experience after spending $1200, regardless of how important the item is. We also felt very happy to give our money to a neighbor rather than a big chain store with salesman just trying to make a small commission. Mike is a respectable small business owner who cares about providing his customer with the product that is best for them at a price they can work with. I would recommend going to Mattress Pro Discounters for your next mattress. read more
