When we first walked in the place the guy was sprawled out in front of his desk with a 5 course meal in front of him. When he greeted us. (Hi I'm Mike) he was chomping at the bit like an OX in a field. A few pieces of rice flew out of his mouth and onto his desk that was in total disarray. After a few minutes of being in the store my wife had to use the restroom but the owner Michael Benitz said there was no running water in the building. He said that there was a Target store across the street that had a restroom. Isn't it against the city of Kemah ordinance not to have working restrooms in a public store? I'm sure it is. My wife went to Target to use the rest room while I stayed and looked at mattresses. Most of the mattresses we tried squeaked loudly when we laid on them. After listening to this guy for about 40 minutes I got a colossal headache. My wife then wanted to leave. Reading these reviews I'm glad we did. Or we would of been another victim of Michael Benitz. I suggest to anyone reading this that they go to another mattress store. This place is a complete joke!!!!! read more

All I can say is glad I found Mattress Pro Discounters. I am the type of person who shops around before I purchase. I went to 10 different mattress stores and I chose this business to make my purchase. Not only do they have the same quality mattresses that all the other places have but they have them at a much better price! As you walk through the doors you get a kind greeting and immediate service. The atmosphere is relaxing and peaceful. No pressure here. Mattress Mike is friendly and very informative. He knew everything there was to know about every mattress in his showroom. We choose a king pillow top mattress set and got a mattress cover and a set of sheets as well. I was also very impressed with the same day delivery service. This is the place to go to get your mattresses. I bought a King mattress at this shop and it had bed bugs on it. When it was delivered I noticed one end was sealed but the other end was taped up. I mentioned it to the delivery driver and he said he just delivers them. My husband came home from work and I told him what I saw. He was upset. When we went to bed about an hour into my sleep I felt something crawling on me. I flung off the covers and opened the light. Sure enough I saw a couple of bed bugs. My husband was furious. He called the establishment and talked to Mike store owner. He explained that I saw one side of the mattress was not sealed like the other. There was tape on the plastic and we think it's a used mattress that's why there were bed bugs on it. Mike said all his mattresses are brand new and factory sealed in the plastic on both sides. He would not give us an exchange. Dear LORD what kind of operation conducts business that way? Don't go to this store. Bed bugs are very present. read more

A few years ago I stopped in this store looking for a mattress but did not know what kind of mattress I needed. Johnny the salesman greeted me and I explained that I sleep on my stomach and was looking for a Queen mattress that would not give me a backache. Johnny was very knowledgeable about how each mattress was made and which one would be best for me. I still sleep on that mattress with absolutely no backaches. Thank you so much Johnny! I returned to the store about a year later with my neighbor. She sleeps on her side and Johnny was able to educate her and I about the best mattress for side sleepers. I was in the market for a king size memory foam mattress. I searched for mattress stores on yelp and Mattress Pro Discounters was one of the choices. My wife and I decided to go check the place out. As soon as we walked in the door We were greeted by Mattress Mike. We told him what type of mattress we were looking for and he showed us numerous choices. After trying them we decided on a nice cool gel king size memory foam mattress. We really liked it because it had a cooling agent on the surface. I thought I found a great place to buy a mattress set. Boy was I wrong. After buying from this place in 4 months my mattress sunk in the middle like a valley running through. I had to hold onto the side to not roll into it. I was told no refunds or exchanges when I went back to tell the guy of my problem with the mattress. He offered to sell me another one at $100 off. I'm on a fixed income and can't afford to buy another one. I wanted an even exchange and pick a different mattress. With Mike this was not going to happen.
