Next time you are in Georgetown you should stop in. The stuff here is pretty amazing. All the rugs are hand made, and the furniture is made by woodworkers, not a factory. The style is definitely traditional, but if you are into that sort of thing, Kellogg's has a great selection of it. They also have one-of-a-kind lamps and pretty, needle-pointed pillows. The price point here is high, but that is what is expected of furniture stores in Gtown. 100 bucks for a pillow, a thousand for a coffee table. Wow. They also provide design services, which I suppose if you can afford this stuff, those may come in handy.

I waited over 15 minutes, while there were two employees at the checkout line helping other customers. I asked if one of the employees could call for help and she did, but no one came. I have been a frequent customer for years and have bought thousands of dollars worth of furniture from this company. I've had disappointing service from them before, but this was the last straw. Last August I purchased dining room chairs which I was told would be ready for delivery in 6 weeks. Many delays later, the chairs were finally ready for delivery on April 6th, 8 months later. A voicemail instructed me to call to provide the balance payment. My first attempt calling resulted in a hold tine of 40 minutes before I got disconnected. The second call I was on hold for 20 minutes. When I finally got to speak to a human, I was informed that my designer's discount would not honored, even though she has a C&B designer account. Turns out her information was not entered when she placed the order, and they would not honor it retroactively. I would have cancelled this order except the chairs were on sale and not refundable. I'm done with C&B

He was unbelievably patient and an absolute delight to work with. Once the sofa arrived at my home, it was even more obvious that the piece and leather upholstery was of the highest quality so I returned and purchased a second sectional. The sofas are authentic, Italian made pieces, so be prepared to wait for a custom-orded item. The prices are reasonable given the high quality of merchandise offered and the fact that they are exclusive and customizable. I told a clerk that I needed to ask some questions about a painting I was interested in perhaps buying. As we were walking toward the piece which was located in the entry way, she began to make degroatory statements before I could ask my question. She said: 1. It's the summer so will can not hold anything; 2. We can't reduce the price; 3. They want to sell stuff as soon as possible. I repeated that I had a question about the painting. She would not let me asked the question but kept on assuming that I wanted some type of special service. Finally I was able to ask," If this a collage or a painting. She said, " a collage otherwise it would cost more. " She was an African American women named, Annie. She was rude and very disrespectful. We went back in the shop to ask about the volunteer who handles art at the shop but he was not available. Another volunteer accompany me outside to discuss the painting. He said he thought it was a collage. Without my being aware, Annie followed us outside. After the volunteer's answer she began to wave her hands and bowed down saying," I told you so," I told you so." I sent my complaint to the manager of the Opp shop, Courtney, on July 11th who usually response well to my concerns and questions in person and to the Rev. Bertie Pearson the rector on July 17 as of this day, July 28th, I have not heard from either one. I do admire the charities that the shop donates its proceeds; however, they need to respect all clients regardless of race or other circumstances. The behavior of some people working here is unacceptable!

around june30,2012.I purchased a twin bed at the show room on new Hampshire ave, in silver spring . the salesman was great. there was a july4th going on he convinced me that no one else would be able to sell me the high quality mattress. Avaialable from mattress warehouse. Anxious to get purchase made I accepted his word. So I tried a few beds. The one I settled on seemed perfect, I had no trouble getting on it., when. It was deIivered. The delivery people did a great job setting it up and taking away my old bed. Unfortunately, when I "tried" to sit on it. It was too high, clearly this was not the bed I'd tried in the show room the salesman had called the day before it was delivered and offered me a shorter box spring. I declined remembering the bed seemed the perfect height. I am recovering from a stroke.I realized it would be dangerous to sleep in the new bed that, so I called the salesman and asked him if he could get me the shorter box spring. He called the district manager, who told him if I just paid the$70.00 delivery charge they could have the replacement box springs delivered in 72 hours . My old bed was gone, so I had. No choice. I slept in the bed that night. I have to get in and out of bed several times during the night It was difficult getting in out of the bed. Fortunately I live my parents; however they are both in their 70s, they were able to help me . The next day we took off the frame, this was working ok. Unfortunately. While I am able to safely get in out of bed with just the box springs under the mattress. It was to low, I n consequence of my stroke my legs are weak and the bed being too low was difficult standing up from; however my very resourceful father realized he could give me a few inches, by putting boards under the boxspring, while this is working ok, I was planning on getting a head board; but with no frame this is impossible. The gripe I have your company is that we spent several days waitingfor the shorter box springs, 1st we were told the boxsprings would be delivered, in 72 hours, this was the week before the 4th so we figured, we'd hear from about the delivery once the holiday was over; but the call never came after several days of calling for news and being told they needed to call the district manager and not getting called back we implemented dad's board fix. I called the show room and finally got an answer. Imagin my surprise when I learned that someone in corperate. Decided that I would have to pay a restocking fee of at least $100, I was already out $70.00. I had the mistakin impression the mattress warehouse was a top flight company; but they don't make an effort to help their customers. Sleep was not happening for me read more

I finally decided it was time for a new bed ... something amazingly I've never had to do in my life (I'm in my 50's). I started by researching online about beds to find that there are perhaps as many bed "models" as there are cars! As I research more, I came upon these reviews about Mattress Warehouse in Tenleytown, DC, and more so about Clarence, the manager. I liked the fact that he had a great deal of knowledge and was not a high pressure salesperson, as stated in the reviews, so I decided to check him/the store out. I found the reviews to be spot on. He initially asked several questions about any medical issues, preferences, etc. before he showed me any mattresses. I tried several mattresses, and ultimately ended up purchasing the 1st one he showed me that I "test drove." However, I felt as though had I decided upon a less expensive one (that was the 2nd bed he suggested), he would have been fine with that also. He set up the delivery on the date we wanted (a Saturday), and we are now waiting for delivery. I also like the store's policy of 90-day return if you find the bed isn't for you, and also the one-year price guarantee (if you find the same bed for less within one year, they will refund you the difference). I would definitely recommend Mattress Warehouse in Tenleytown and most certainly Clarence! read more

Initially I wrote a review on my experience from the Clinton, MD store ranting and raving and praising them to the highest but that was before I received my product or not because the first delivery attempt didn't happen. They guys wanted me to sign a waiver giving them permission to releasing them of damages they would do to the bed frame and my property because they say it weighed 300 pounds and it was too heavy for them to lift but the next team brought out a different frame and had no problems lifting it which makes me think they did a switcharoo on the frame and didn't give me what I actually paid. I'm very disappointed in this purchase and even though I've just bought a new mattress I NEED A NEW MATTRESS. Once I get the box spring and it's better I will come back and update the post but right now they suck and they made me pay for additional delivery to bring the box spring and they don't even include the frame. You buy a new bed and spend over $2K and they can't even include the frame. YES THEY SUCK!!!!! I SAID IT AND I MEANT IT!!!!!! read more

ok it started early in 2010 when i went to Mattress Warehouse in Easton Md. Thought i got a deal and had to wait 3 weeks to pick up my complete set and only half there. Thenmy mattress was there, the plastic was off mattress and i asked question. My question never got answered so i loaded my own stuff. Slept on it and called next day that mattress was hard didnt feel like one i laid on. I was told to give it a week and i did still hard well they had moved to new location and they lost my paper work. Finally at in of 2010 i got new mattress and its 2012 now and the mattress has caved in again. well im not returning the mattress im burning the mattress from MattressWarehouse. I went to Sleepy in Camden De. and bought a new mattress from Mr. Fowler and im getting a 20 year warranty on this mattress and didnthave to buy complete set to receive full warranty. I was fortunate to choose the Tenley Mattress Warehouse where I had read several glowing reviews of Clarence, so I decided to try out the store. I always had purchased my mattress in large department stores, but I decided to try this shop. What a wonderful experience! Clarence was just amazing in helping me choose the proper mattress and box spring. He was patient, knowledgeable, and made the entire experience wonderful. I had a minor complication with delivery due to time limits for my receiving the mattress, but Clarence coordianted it all and made it happen without any problem. Excellent customer service! The manager Julia went above and beyond with helping me decide on a mattress to buy. I visited several times with her and her staff and not once did I feel like they were rushing me to make a decision. Julia listens and truly cares about you when purchasing a mattress that is best for your body type! They are also very knowledgeable on the way mattresses are constructed. Some companies that sell furniture and mattresses may not know as much detail. I am writing this review after a very good experience buying a new mattress, box springs, and two pillows at Mattress Firm at Tenleytown. Glen was our salesman. He was very friendly, personable and knowledgeable. Glen was patient with us as we tried out many different mattresses and pillows. Glen made this experience that we have been putting off for too long a stressless and seamless process so far. She provided clear and objective information, which was key in my decision to purchase a Tempurpedic mattress. White glove delivery. First class service at both ends of the process. Ordered a matress and it was delivered one week late and the obnoxious delivery man came to my home at 7:20am on on a Monday without any warning. Pounded on my door for 15 minutes waking up my entire family (2 children under 3) and both of my niegbors. Beyond that, they drop off a "free" boxspring I did not order and they refused to pick it up when in called to explain I did not need it. Only after the fact was I told that it was not actually "free" and I was charged $90 for it. A real dishonest and obnoxious outfit, I would steer clear if I wore you. read more

Yesterday we shopped for a box spring and mattress for our guest room. Fatima Taza, Sleep Specialist, took care of us. She was totally focused on meeting our needs - she is knowledgeable, patient, efficient, delightfully helpful. In short order we had made our choice and arranged for the bed to be delivered today. Two young men brought the mattress into the apartment a few minutes ago, set up the bed frame, put the mattresses in place - no fuss. In all the purchase and the delivery was excellent experiences. I want to echo the previous post and say that my experience with Mattress Warehouse was fantastic. Clarence, the manager, is both incredibly helpful and kind. I had asked around and gotten several quotes -- Clarence offered the best deal by far. The price was great, the turnaround the delivery was very quick, and the delivery guys came withing the first 15 minutes of the three-hour time range I was given! It took me to discover this and call Casper Support on day 9. Oscar apologized and assured me everything was on its way back to H St by day 13. I called on that day and Jeremy said no, one more item was coming on day 18 but offered then to schedule the White-Glove/TaskRabbit delivery service (where the wrong address was entered again). On day 18 I called and the last item had been delivered, but back to their California warehouse. I gave up, emailing Oscar to cancel my order and request a refund, which I received on day 23. We went into the store to specifically look for a mattress that was recommended to us (Nova hybrid). While the H street store did not have the Nova on display, we settled on the Original hybrid. Tajuana and Jeremy were patient and knowledgeable (providing just the right amount of attention and information, while letting us try out the various mattresses). We walked away thinking the Original hybrid was the choice, but a little disappointed we didn't try the Nova. To our surprise, by the time we arrived back home, Tajuana had texted us - stating she and Jeremy would be happy to get a Nova out from storage and put it our for us to try. We stopped back the following day - getting a chance to evaluate the Nova (spoiler, we settled on the original hybrid, but now our minds' were at peace knowing we tried the Nova). The staff was friendly and patient once again! During our mattress search, we went to about 8+ stores across the DMV, looking at mattresses from $1k-$30k. Casper and the H street store, was only the second store, that provided a knowledgable, friendly and customer-service oriented experience (on par with what we experienced at the $30k mattress store). He said it was very expensive. I looked very closely at the materials and mentioned that it was not real wood, either MDF or Particle Board with veneer as well as made in China. My friend said that is impossible as he was assured it was real solid wood made in Denmark. I said to him, I will cut part of his furniture and if it is not MDF or Particle Board I would buy and replace it. Lo and behold it was Particle Board. I have yet to find out what my friend did after I left his dinner invitation.

Terrible customer service. ordered a couch and it arrived months later than promised. When it…read morearrived the entire underside of the couch was torn. We sent them photos. We were told someone would come out to repair it. The can of fabric spray came dented and with caps broken off so was unable to use. When contacted they were very apologetic and offered to send us two new cans and offered for us to select two accessories as a service recovery. We selected two items for service recovery. We followed up once and were told we would be contacted when the items came in. To date, months later we have heard nothing. We have a couch with torn underside, no fabric spray and no items that were offered as service recovery. we ordered through Georgetown store.

Next time you are in Georgetown you should stop in. The stuff here is pretty amazing. All the rugs are hand made, and the furniture is made by woodworkers, not a factory. The style is definitely traditional, but if you are into that sort of thing, Kellogg's has a great selection of it. They also have one-of-a-kind lamps and pretty, needle-pointed pillows. The price point here is high, but that is what is expected of furniture stores in Gtown. 100 bucks for a pillow, a thousand for a coffee table. Wow. They also provide design services, which I suppose if you can afford this stuff, those may come in handy.

Because everything was closed she was able to help me by taking pictures of the items i wanted to buy. The website also had issues so she helped me buy the items. The delivery guys were quick to get everything set up and wore masks and then left. They did leave one piece of small trash which could have been by accident it wasnt big and noticeable like a box would be. I was scared of a C rating but now i have confidence i can buy more C items and be satisfied. Best part was they had a memorial day weekend sale for an additional 50% off their already low pricing!
