Patrick is as honest and trustworthy as they come, and has the skills to match. I am constantly impressed with the quality of his work, and the care and pride that he puts into each and every job. He has done at least 40 separate projects for me in the past 2 years. These jobs range from entire property painting, to simple plumbing tasks, electrical work, custom cabinet work, to partial remodels. His intelligence and creativity shine through his unique approaches to installations and repairs. He tries to always be there when the customer needs him, even when it isn't always the most convenient. He has a fine attention to detail that you will notice with his paint jobs, staining, and carpentry. He cares about doing things using the proper methods, and doesn't take shortcuts just to close jobs out quickly. He never overcharges his customers, and strives to make them happy and maintain the relationship. Too bad there aren't six stars to give, or I would.

Washer/Dryer was okay. Weed cleaning was mediocre at best. They had to move some pipes around the laundry room and cut into the drywall to do so. They pierced into the wall in the room next door. They repaired the damages, but when it came to the color matching of the walls' paint, they got a completely different color and they were going to leave it as it was and instead of fixing their mistake, they wanted me to spend hundreds on labor and paint to repaint the whole area in my 15' high cieling home. I took it upon myself to get the correct color from Home Depot, and they painted it on, and it was a correct match. ( let me add they did patch up a whole in my kitchen free of charge). I stated specifically what weeds needed to be cleaned before the process began. When they claimed to be done with the weeds, they didn't do any of the front sidewalk until I told them. Even so, it was not detailed professionally. Granted, they did work with the price. But I wonder if that's why I got a poor job with the weeds. As the projects were complete and they were getting ready to leave, I pointed out areas that needed to be cleaned from the materials of the drywall that stained my gazebo and back door handles. Time management was horrible. They decided the times they would arrive and I'd agree the day before. Regardless of their excuses, they never made a single appointment on time, having me waking up and waiting for hours at a time. I decided to try them again for a fence project I'm about to begin. Last week (Thursday at 1100 am) they informed me they would arrive 'First thing in the morning at 7' Monday morning. I agreed. There was no cancelation, so I assumed we were good to go. I woke up Monday morning at 0500 am to a message they sent at 9:46 last night to confirm if we were good for Monday morning. I texted yes. He stated that he didn't get an answer last night that we needed to reschedule. Don't get me wrong. The work they did was excellent as far as the Gazebo and Laundry room. They were helpful with the added patch work. They are good at making appointments but bad at being on time or keeping them. This is a review for them as much as the person attempting to hire them on mistakes that can be fixed. Time Management and Attention to detail are very needed for this up and coming company as well as cleaning after the projects are complete.

Great looking store! A whole lot of everything, and they all wear Matt's t-shirts. Bot 1000 sf carpet and padding there last year for old house. All fine there, no problems. Went a week or so ago to look at new flooring for my new home with dogs that might piddle on them, and the salesman told me laminate was the way to go for mobile homes. I pointed out how their sample already had warped edges, and he said it's bc they have to spray it all the time bc customer's fingers make it dirty. Well, that doesn't say much about the use of laminate in a mobile home that might get moisture if a dog piddles, or water stains get on the floor, or or or ..... Then he goes about writing me up a quote with installation costs. Anyway, come to find out, vinyl wood-look click-and-lock planking is the way to go. All other big-house home improvement centers know that, my new neighbors know that. Why wouldn't Ruben know that? Anyway, going back to look at VINYL like I needed in the first place! It's always fun to shop there, just to look around. The entrance to the flooring department is really cool. They had Matt's t-shirts on sale for like two bucks each, but I don't go for the color green. I did buy a pack of bottled water with Matt's Hardware label on them, and tho expensive, I sure enjoy drinking from them! read more

We purchased our vinyl flooring from Matts Cash and Carry in Mcallen. After having problems with the floor and installation, Isaac (one of the owners) came out to look at the floor. He said that he couldn't fix it and we needed to replace the new floor. He told us that we could pick out a different upgraded floor with replacement installation at no extra charge. He did what I expect a good company should do when they run into problems with their product. Isaac was kind, and eager to satisfy his customers. The sales personnel at Matts in Mcallen were always helpful. We must have went to the flooring dept. 20 times before picking out flooring for both installations. The sales people were always accommodating. They also followed through with any changes during the installation. I would recommend Matts Cash and Carry in McAllen. They value their customer and warranty both their products and their installers. read more

First of, they have patience and answered all my questions. He even has a small room with a couple display cabinets to explain what kind of drawers and cabinet doors you want. He has everything from slow closing drawers to spice racks. He made a lost of everything I wanted and Itemized everything. From how much the hardware to my drawers to spice racks to a trash can bin. He explained that different type of wood, although pretty is easily scratched or marked. i.e. by dogs or kids which we have both. He helped me pick the right ones for my house. He then came to my house measured my kitchen and windows to make sure everything would fit. He even recommended I get a lazy Susan. for 75 dollars more it was SO worth it!! He gave us an awesome deal compared to 3 cabinet shops. He was 800 dollars under with better quality wood and accessories. I am honestly writing this to thank him. I can't believe he hasn't had a review. He did say he does a lot of work for contractors so I see how most wouldn't divulge who does their cabinet work.
