Matt's express car wash is a good quality drive thru car wash. It's simple, clean and most important has good quality equipment. It's a decent value. I haven't had any issues coming here to get my bmws and audi washed here. I would recommend getting you vehicle washed here. I wish the had towel dry and mat cleaning though. read more

Waste of money. I took my van there today and after going thru the $10 wash my van was still dirty! You could still see fingerprints in the dirt on the tailgate. Windows were still dirty and I had to use the wipers to get the water off my windshield. Won't be going back there ever again. read more

I've given this place a try 3 times over the last few years and it's more of a car rinse than a car wash. The kid in the front is obviously stoned and when I asked for my windshield sticker after buying the month pass he didn't know what I was talking about. So I just canceled and will be moving on. I had high hopes for this place since it's convenient for me, but the employees are super lazy. The back of my car never gets clean in this wash. I have asked them to spray it and brush it and they roll her eyes and say they don't do that. So this is, as the name states, an express wash. I'll likely come here again because it is the fastest and closest carwash to my home. Its a good value, especially if you sign up for their text message deals. I like the free vacuums. They always hand out an interior cleaner to each customer. I do have some concerns. I don't understand how they know what wash you have selected and if it is truly being applied to your car during busy times because the lines can get a smidge unorganized. When they manually presoak or pretreat as you enter, they only do the driver's side? I don't know, maybe I'm missing something. As with most express washes, you know that you'll have to get out and take an extra round of your car with a rag to touch up, but if you're running around with a list of errands, one can swing through to get their ride looking shiney without offsetting your "to do's". read more

I'm annoyed. the attendant was directing me and my wheel cover came off.. no big deal it clips back on but I couldn't figure out how and he says I'm responsible bc i was going the opposite of what he was directing me... i feel like why not tell me to break or stop. I had a bad experience here. It was very busy and as soon as I got to the conveyor they squirted my windshield so I could not see. I did not know to put my car in neutral which seems obvious in retrospect but I'm was confused and ended up hitting the car in front when I took my foot off the brake. Please Matt put a notice where customers pay to put the car in neutral. It was a very bad situation for all concerned. I feel terrible for the person I hit who was on the way to sell her car and it now has small dents. There was no dashboard wipe and as per the previous review I think all the cars get the same wash regardless of price paid. read more

Matt's rocks -- you just have to remember what it is. For around $10, you get a really good exterior express wash with no people touching your car. Vacuums are free and they give you a microfiber towel every time. If you want more, there's a really good hand wash in Barrington, and other places. But, is 2.5x as much. So, if you want a quick exterior wash -- this is awesome. If you want more, you need to find a hand wash or something with people drying your vehicle. You also have to be aware that there are massive microfiber "brushes" that apply a lot of pressure to your car to get it clean. Things that can catch on those are likely to come off -- that's just mechanics. My Jeep is not a candidate for this place, my truck is. So, be aware of what you're getting, check to be sure that your vehicle is suited for this sort of wash, and I think you'll be happy with the results. read more

My wife and I have been going here since the day they opened! With it being a "hands off" car wash I couldn't ask for better. The prices are wonderful and our cars always end up clean. I do recommend bringing a towel to dry your car off if you are the same kind of person that I am with residual water. The staff is friendly, the service is top notch, and the vacuums are solid. I've seen one person put a negative review out on the vacuums but I really do t know if they were experiencing an abnormality or what. I've been here over 20 times now and it's top notch quality. I went to this car wash on 12/27, and during the wash a tire cover from a vehicle in front of me wrapped itself around my front tire causing numerous scratches on my right front panel. I honestly thought the wash was ripping off my bumper the noise was so loud, but found out what it was when I exited the wash. I went to their offices and the attendant on duty rubbed some of the minor scratches out and had me fill out a damage claim form and said the owner would be in touch in a couple of days. The owner never called so I went back to talk to someone in person and the same attendant communicated that the owner decided it wasn't the fault of the business, and I should attempt to collect damages from the person's car that the wash ripped the tire cover from. He also communicated that they are not responsible for any damage, even if a car on the tracks behind you hits you! They basically are not responsible for anything that happens on their premise according to them. My insurance company thinks differently and will be dealing with them to take responsibility for what occurs during their service. I would have given 0 stars if that was an available option. read more

I got a car wash here today and I went through the car wash and my car somehow came out just as dirty, I literally had to wipe down my entire car because not only was it still dirty, the hot wax left spots all over my car. I also used the vacuum and accidentally vacuumed a vape, and I tried to get someone to help me for about 30 minutes before giving up, so basically I went here spent money just to have a dirty car and have to go to the store to replace my vape bc no one was helpful. read more

BEWARE. A really good concept but my experience was arguably a customer service nightmare. I have a 2 month old car. Saw the wash and wanted to give it a try. As I exited the car wash I heard a loud flapping noise. Pulled the car over within a block and saw that my rim was damaged and a piece of rubber from my tire was peeled off. I immediately went back. They had me fill out an accident report and said someone would call me by Sunday with next steps. No call. I called them on Monday and they said it want there fault. I wouldn't be so adamant it was their fault if it wasn't for the loud noise that the flapping made as soon as I drove the car. Zero chance it happened any where else. Now I am stuck having to take them to small claims court. There a new business and have to realize things like this can happen and is a cost of doing business. They just refused to listen to the facts which are irrefutable. The people of a Crystal Lake should not support a business who acts in this matter. I guarantee it has happened before and will continue to happen unless the customer base takes action and avoids a business who would treat customers in this manner. This place is poorly organized, so when we were prompted to go forward after putting our vehicle in neutral, we complied. The brushes came down and the vehicle in front of us was out of view. Yes, we bumped into it. Just like another Yelp customer. The cheap car wash cost us over $700.00 dollars for 2 small scratches. They took NO responsibility, zero, nadda, none. I was going to go full bore against Matts carwash for the scratches. I hired a law firm, I had a letter prepared by them, I had attorneys waiting for the go ahead if this wasn't resolved. Matts didn't know anything about the pain I was prepared to bring them. It turns out they did the right thing without me putting a legal stranglehold on them. To say I was surprised would be an understatement. One of the owners actually contacted me to see what he could do to resolve the issue. I told him and he and the other Matt agreed. It was resolved just like that. WOW, that easy. I could of saved a lot of money in legal fees if I'd known they were this kind of stand up guys. Both Matts actually wanted to help me. Again, surprise. I wasn't expecting any of that. I have to say, I love Matt and Matts car wash again. I will be going back again for more washes. Again I have to say they didn't know any of the legal stuff I had ready. They just did the right thing because it was the right thing. You don't find many people like that anymore. The workers here are nice and very helpful. The only frustrating thing I encountered is that the "Fast Pass" doesn't always scan right away so i held up a line because of this and the wash doesn't clean very well in between the tires/rims or underneath the vehicle so my car was left with a ton of snow in the winter after each wash. read more
