I would think they could do it in a day to a month tops... I'm now over 6 months or so waiting for this center to help me... to point me in a right direction... to navigate me through HUD or a shelter... 6 months ago I reached out and did everything they wanted. All they did was report me to the police for being homeless because it's illegal to be homeless... and I'm still homeless 6 months later... been homeless for years... can anyone explain what's going on and why these people are being paid salaries if they cannot get someone off the street that's homeless In a timely manner?? Should be literally within a week tops... so much funding goes to help people get off the street .... I'm still waiting in the street 6 months later.... Is this place ever going to prove they can help anyone out of homelessness.... I haven't been checked up on or called once since my case worker Cindy took my case either. Everything is logged... why is it so impossible for these people to help people get off the street and into a shelter or HUD home ?? Is there some sort of corruption occurring?? Because again... it should take a day to a month maximum to get someone off the street. I've been on the street over 6 months and patiently waiting to be helped by this organization but apparently it's a scam? If not prove me wrong and get me off the street already like what if this was your grandmother on the street for years? This is an absolutely unacceptable length of time to leave someone homeless that has reached out for help and is abiding by any and all of your rules and stipulations.

Wow....Aladdin at the Bozich Center was an amazing production and so entertaining!! I bought a…read moreridiculously cheap adult ticket and my 10yr old Little Sister was free (we are a mentor pair from Big Brother, Big Sister). The musical kept us both enthralled and waiting for our favourite songs, and it didn't disappoint, the actors sang their hearts out and the crowd loved it. I was thrilled when my favourite song included a parade down the centre aisle by the Prince and his retinue, acrobats and animals, glitter and gauze, palanquins and pomp, exactly what a musical should be. I was blown away with how professional the sets were, and the props, many homemade, were very realistic, especially a huge scary face and an hilarious panto elephant ;) Costuming was divine, Princess Jasmine's dress glittered with every movement, and the Genie looked exactly like a female genie should, bold and beautiful. Some of the techniques involved were especially effective, eg, slow mo action on stage accompanied by a flickering light creating a cinematography motion picture from early days. Creative and very enjoyable to watch, and so unexpected. Kudos to everyone involved, especially Ray Chin and his family who helped Aladdin come to life in west Maui. It was a packed theatre last Thursday night with people even sitting on the floor watching. Plus the tuck shop was open during the interval and pricing was cheap enough so everyone could buy a treat. For a $5 adult ticket and $3 treat I took my Little Sister out for a fantastically enjoyable and affordable night, which compared to the cinema where we have to travel an hour there and back and pay a huge amount for tickets and overpriced popcorn, it was a steal! Plus to see the community come together and create such a show and for all the joy they created for those involved and those watching, it was a triumph.

When you walk in the staff and the fun learning environment is so warm and inviting. I felt a warm heartfelt Aloha, considering how busy the staff were. I love the whole staff that work there and service the community in different capacities. Imua has a wonderful inclusion program second to none. The teachers and staff are their to service my littles, and other students and clients, with Aloha, compassion, kindness, and love. My child is always looking forward to go to school. My wife is very happy, this was her first choice for preschool. It is something that we absolutely agree that Imua preschool is the best on the island and it is not your ordinary preschool, and is a perfect fit for our child.

I received a warm aloha welcome from the ladies there and was shown around the facility and it is impressive. This isn't a regular YMCA, it is a resource center operating as a base for a broad collection of non-profits, catering to those who were affected by the tragic Lahaina fire. One hour of free childcare in their special childcare area is offered to anyone who visits to consult with the non profits, and the childcare area is beautifully decorated with a mural by an ex Lahainaluna student Michi.Co. There is a nice open area where kupuna classes in Tai Chi, Line Dance, Step Together and Tech World, etc are held. Pop in to take a look and grab a copy of their monthly classes, and their Daily Drip coffee get togethers. It has recently opened so they are still putting classes and other community based events together, but this is the up and coming place in Lahaina for kupuna, keiki and fire survivors. Go take a look, see what they can offer you, and take part in their community based activities. We are so blessed to have this amazing YMCA resource center.

My most recent purchase there was a floor lamp with ceramic pole. I had to replace the lamp socket on it but still a good deal. That's probably why it was donated. Anyway, they usually have a good assortment of light fixtures, tables, chairs and small appliances. The sort of stuff that people upgrade from time to time. They also are a good source of building materials that are left over from jobs the contractors finish. It's hit or miss whether you find the type or quantity of materials you need, but it's still a good place to check if you're about to start a project. We were there recently, to drop off a couple boxes of floor tile and some used copper tubing. I hope someone can use it. There's a small parking lot beside the building. Be really careful there because you might not have much time to react when someone backs out without looking. I had to use my horn, first time in years!

Recently, I had completed a 10k for the run and walk for whales in Maui. That was a mouthful, and I bet there's more that I didn't cover lol. ALL the proceeds not a portion but ALL, from the registration, donations, and merchandise in store go to the foundation. Also what I thought was a pretty sweeet incentive was that any walker and runner that registered was offered 40% off a whale excursion from the run till April! I have to go back and make my reservation! As for the running and walk course...it was not ideal. I believe by mile 1.5 you can see the Maalea harbor in the distance and if you have 20/20 vision you just might see a whale breaching. That's the last exciting thing you will see for a while. Although, I walked by the kealia wildlife refuge center which was beautiful. There were times I felt the course was too close to the highway. The only barrier that protected us were the plastic orange cones separating us from the cars speeding by. The volunteers were wonderful, engaging, and had such positive energy during the times you felt depleted from the hot sun. The medal compared to last year was a little disappointing. It was a sticker with a very small picture of a whale tale placed onto a thin piece of metal. I completed the 10k with the speed of a turtle. It's not how you start, but how you finish! Runners and walkers were rewarded with snacks, and music once it was over. I would definitely do this run again if the course had better views of the ocean :)
