If that were the case, then we wouldn't need help & would file ourselves - and my husband was an accountant for several years!! We overlooked Lori's unprofessional behavior and used her services for 2 years thinking that we might get a different result, but we should have trusted our gut. After working on our taxes for weeks (in August - not busy tax season), we emailed Lori to get a status update. On 8/19, she told us our taxes will be completed in "a few more days". On 8/26, I sent another email gently requesting an update. I got no response for 5 more days. I was honestly worried if she was okay & reached out again on 8/30. She sent us an unprofessional response which I will post with my review. She then sent us a disengagement letter stating that she enjoyed working with us, but had to make a difficult decision to end our services. Avoid L&F Tax & Bookkeeping if you like kindness, good communication and professionalism.

Lori Feroldi made a mistake on our taxes that can put us in big trouble with the IRS. We called multiple times to no avail, so we showed up at her business. Instead of helping us solve a simple fix, she gave us attitude, and when we calmly approached her in person, she shrieked for the police, completely ignored us, locked the door on us, and denied us service. FOR HER MISTAKE. This is after she collected our $800 and had us sign for her services. She even told the cops, who relayed to us, that she BLOCKED OUR NUMBER. Talk about ass backwards and terrible business. She did end up calling the police, but when they got there and talked to us, they were so calm and understanding of us. They said that this is not the first time sheʻs called the police because a customer was dissatisfied with her services. She abuses MPD. Itʻs so lame. - L&F Tax & Bookkeeping Services You could have easily helped us and fixed YOUR mess- up. But instead, you wanted to act stupid and play a stupid game. So, hereʻs your stupid prize. I do not ever make posts like this. My family and I are very easy going people. But this lady is just too much. Sheʻs looney. The Pacific Cancer Foundation provides as beacon of hope for people that are diagnosed with cancer…read moreand for their caregivers. There are actually 2 locations. The main office is in the Cameron Center. There is also a satellite office at the hospital next to the cancer institute. This is how I found them - advertising support for any people on Maui who need it. Unfortunately not call those diagnosed with cancer, have the support or even financial ability to pay for their medication let alone treatment. PCF provides navigation, support, social work and even education for cancer patients and their caregivers. They have even helped out some of our island's keiki. What an invaluable resource for Maui.

But the exceedingly nice girl on the phone informed me that they didn't have set times for hikes anymore due to a decrease in attendance and tour guides could be called in if you make a reservation in advance (keep this in mind if you want to bring a group here). There was however, a little pamphlet that we could pick up at their main office to take us on a self guided hike, which was basically the same thing as the tour, she said. Also, they no longer charge $20, but they do have a 10 dollar suggested donation for upkeep of the trails and such. Sounds good! I said. When we got there, we were greeted by the same sweet girl from the phone. Although the place looked swamped with the arrival of a mass of little campers there to stay at their facilities for the night, she was very patient with Mom and I and answered all of our questions - even led us to the head of the trail! The trail was probably about a mile and half long. Up and down some minor hills (maybe to much for grandma to handle FYI). Along the way there are little numbers placed on the trail that correspond with the laminated sheet that they give you to tell you about all of the different types of plant life (which are native species, which were introduced, uses the natives had for the plants, etc) that exist in the rainforest. The sheet also fills you in on some Hawaiian history! Very educational. Bring someone literate! It's fun if you have someone read the sheet at each number. Careful! You might learn something.

The Hawaii Nature Center, located in the Iao Valley State Park, is a non-profit organization…read morededicated to fostering awareness, appreciation, and understanding of Hawaii and its natural environment, and providing a educational experience for visitors to the Islands. Iao Valley is the site of one of the most famous and bloody battles that changed Hawaiian history forever. On this site, In 1790, King Kamehameha I destroyed the Maui army in his effort to unite the Hawaiian Islands. The valley is still a sacred burial ground for the ancient kings and their people. The Nature Center offers guided hikes through the Iao Valley for a small fee. After crossing Iao Stream by bridge, the tour passes by an ancient village site, a live taro patch, and numerous indigenous, Polynesian-introduced, and recently-introduced exotic plants, including wild coffee trees and giant banana plants. The hike continues through the rainforest to the base of the majestic, 2,250' high Iao Needle pinnacle. The Iao Valley is the wettest spot on Maui, and the second wettest in all the Hawaiian Islands. Wear sturdy shoes, bring a light jacket, a hat, and lots of insect repellent. The mosquitos here are voracious. You can get a bite to eat at the snack bar at the Visitor's Center. Surprisingly, it is run by the owner's of the excellent Cafe O'Lei, and serves up gourmet-quality light fare.

There are 650+ cats on site and YES most are adoptable!! They will ship the kitties to you, also. This is a worthy mission with a fantastic outcome. Not all kitties are friendly or willing to interact, but they give you treats to give the kitties to help them socialize with you. You can also bring wet food treats (the tubes) to feed them and win their love immediately. Haha. We didn't come here for this particular experience but it definitely influenced our decision. Finally attended the Lahaina Restoration Foundation's 60th Gala which was supposed to be in October…read more23 but was postponed due to the Aug 8 fires. What an amazing night, full of music, dance, culinary delights and fevered fundraising. With these funds LRF and its workers and volunteers can rebuild Lahaina and it's historical buildings, keeping history and culture alive and thriving. Many Mahalos to everyone involved, from the LRF board to volunteers, dancers and servers, Kimberley in the office who answered my emails regarding the night, to the greeters at the doors of the Old Lahaina Luau. Everyone involved made it a night to remember!

Six wooden picnic tables overlooking the stream. A refrigerator to store the cake and drinks. Sinks for handwashing. Areas for kids to run around and play. The teacher guide Pauline was so patient. Pauline was there to help with taking kids on a hike, craft making activities and a trip to the river for fishing. The small hike was manageable. Craft making was a way for kids to be creative. Fishing for krill and toads was a way for the kids to burn excess energy. Bring sunscreen and lotsa bug repellent! Such a fun event outdoors and a learning experience even for the adults!
