When I first moved to Maui I took the one-star course to help ease my fear of the ocean. With their encouragement and support of the community they've built I was able to push myself to take and pass the two-star course. It was an exceptional lesson! House is an excellent communicator and focussed on the very specifics I needed to make improvements. I actually spent less little time swimming and more time talking about the mechanics of a good swimming technique. From the moment we arrived, he was friendly, patient, and clearly passionate about what he does. Sharky made the girls feel comfortable and confident right away, taking the time to explain everything in a way that was easy for them to understand. His energy was positive and encouraging the entire time, and you could tell he genuinely cared about making sure they had fun and succeeded. Both of my daughters were up and riding waves much sooner than I expected, and the smiles on their faces said it all. It was one of the highlights of our trip to Maui. Jonathon was both patient and supportive, giving helpful hints on how to change my SCUBA ways. Given these are not bad ways for a SCUBA diver, but freediving requires separate skills, especially when it comes to equalization and head position. Although I struggled, he continued to support and provide positive feedback, resulting in my passing the course. I can not thank him enough for his professionalism. If you want a patient, helpful instructor Composure Freediving is the way to go.
