The fish meal was tasty. The chicken and fish looked alike due to scoop rice, protein on top, sauce all over.

I love plays, movies, dinner shows. A Murder Mystery dinner has been on my bucketlist for a long time and we finally went to celebrate my birthday at the Doubletree Alana's mystery dinner. I have been in marketing for 30+ years so the first thing I did was look for clues when I arrived at the theater. I hate to say it but I wouldn't recommend this show. The acting was bad it was so predictable. It could have been a little better if they served dinner earlier. The schedule showed approximately 7 pm but we didn't eat till a little after 8 pm. There wasn't a lot of people so it was puzzling. Groupon or not, save your money. The food we did eat was delicious. We would have been able to concentrate on the dinner show better if we weren't starving. That's my 2 cents.

Is this touristy? Yes!! Are we tourists?? Also, yes!!…read more We had a great time at this luau. We got the higher of the mid package, Splash premium. The classic package includes a shell lei and one cocktail and seating along the edge. Our package gets a fresh flower lei, 2 cocktails and better seating. There is a celebrity package with has a separate check-in line, 2 cocktails and servers bring you your food, while everyone else goes through the buffet line. We were lucky and were seated in the celebrity package seating. We had a great view of the dancers. After you've checked in, they place a lei around your neck--fresh flower lei or shell lei, depending on your package. Then they take a picture of your party with people in traditional Hawaiian costume. You can purchase the picture later if you would like. You are given your drink tickets to use at the bar. There are activities this do before the show starts--lei making, passion friend crown making, and dancing lesson. There was a Polynesian band playing in stage the entire time. The tickets get you either a basic cocktail --i got two mai tais decorated with flowers--or you can upgrade for premium cocktails. We went through the buffet, which was really good. There was salad and kalua pork, Huli Huli chicken, mahi mahi, poy, rice, chow mein noodles, great pineapple, veggies, rolls, and dessert if chocolate cake and coconut gelatin. While we were eating, a man climbed up the coconut tree, which was fun to watch. As we finished dinner, the traditional dancers performed with traditional drummers. It was all great, especially the fire dancers. It's really was a fun night. Who cares if it is touristy?

It was very easy to find in the international marketplace and being in the mall was not a distraction like one may be hesitant to think. The setup was perfect in which you can hear and watch the entertainers with no distractions and they kept us very engaged. I came to the luau with friends and family and experienced the luau in the first row, middle table. This was a prime spot to experience the performances and worth it. Entertainment: In the beginning, they held interactive stations that allowed the guests to learn and participate in different cultural activities, like dancing. Everything was timed perfectly and participation was optional so no one is forced to do anything! Food + Drinks: We then proceeded to eat dinner which we lined up and they served you. They had tons of vegetarian options and their kalua pork + stir fry noodles were my favorite. They had a wide menu of signature cocktails which were all amazing. They served pineapple appetizers to munch on while watching the entertainers. Service: Workers were very attentive and interactive. They were great at reading the crowd and moving the crowd, cracking jokes, inviting participants to the stage, and inviting guests for seconds during dinner. Overall I would recommend this luau to my friends, family, and visitors who want to participate in Hawaiian culture. It's a great activity for all ages and can also see this as a great activity to do for those on business trips with their team or with family and friends!

I was a bit worried about the authentic vibe, but once the show started my worries went away. The food could have been better, but it was adequate. We were seated towards the back of the venue and the columns can make viewing a challenge, but we eventually got up and moved around to get more involved in the experience. Highly recommend this experience and you can show up early and check out the rest of the property as it has so much to offer.

I later learned that she was a contestant on The Voice. In addition, my 2024 luau was my first visit to Hawaii ever and I was pumped to attend a luau and learn the traditions. Our 2026 host was a gentleman who had more of a flat stage presence. Flash forward to 2026, many components of the luau remained the same. The luau starts at 5 pm and there are various activities on the lawn such as lei bracelet making, some music, a man who climbs up a coconut tree, and a complimentary drink either rum punch or guava juice. There is the typical push for professional photos when your party enters the space with an opportunity to purchase closer to dinner time at $25 each. The show takes a touch to get going and has a strong focus on getting the crowd engaged. There are many songs dedicated towards anniversaries and celebrations which is nice. In addition, there is a big focus on military and those who have served this country being at a military hotel. The event is clean, staff is friendly, yet I do wish there was more performing as opposed to crowd shout outs. The show takes you through Polynesian history, New Zealand and more demonstrated via dancing, fire throwing and hula. There is an MC who hosts, live musicians and interactive crowd sessions. I've never been a big fan of the food but appreciate it all because it's a learning lesson about traditional food. The appetizers are pineapple, pickled onions, poi and salsa with fish that will get split at your table with pre-set plates. Servers will come around to serve the main dish. The main plate contains chicken, pulled pork, steak, fish, sweet potatoes and zucchini. Dessert has always been guava cake which pairs nicely with coffee. My favorite take-a-way from the show is learning how the men have always done the hunting, cooking and cleaning as the women are considered sacred since women can give the gift of life. This is such an honorable lesson that makes me smile. Thank you to the staff as I know it takes a village to put on a show like this especially 3 x's a week. Mahalo!!

We saw that Nutridge was on a mountain, with views over the city and the ocean, in a beautiful park, in a lovely estate that hosted about 50 people at a time, and that during the 4 hours we were there, we would experience Hawaiian culture and activities. We had the experience we hoped for. The small staff was so friendly. The MC was a lot of fun and kept the evening moving. The dancers were lovely and were part of the activities as well. Every part of the entertainment was interactive and inclusive of the guests. It was not a sit-and-watch evening! The buffet dinner was delicious and plentiful, offering several traditional dishes, all of which we were encouraged to try. There were so many fun things going on, you had to be there. The evening ended with a dance party! We brought jackets and bug spray, just in case, but didn't need them. Wear comfortable clothes and walking shoes for the short walks through the beautiful grounds as you move between activities. This was one of the highlights of our holiday and was worth every penny. The atmosphere begins with cultural activities before the dinner and show start. Guests are welcomed with demonstrations that introduce aspects of Hawaiian and Polynesian heritage, such as traditional crafts, cultural explanations, and interactive experiences that help set the stage for the evening. The outdoor setting adds to the immersive feeling, especially as the sun begins to set and the stage lights come on. The dinner portion features a buffet of traditional island dishes. Common items include kalua pork, local-style chicken, rice, salads, and other staples that reflect the fusion of flavors common in Hawaiian and Polynesian cuisine. The food complements the entertainment and provides a satisfying introduction to local flavors. The highlight of the evening is the performance itself. The show focuses on Polynesian warrior traditions through dance, storytelling, and dramatic fire knife performances. The choreography and staging emphasize strength, history, and cultural pride, making the performance both entertaining and educational. Service throughout the evening felt welcoming and organized. Staff guided guests through the activities, buffet, and seating so the evening flowed smoothly from start to finish. From a global travel perspective, Mauka Warriors Luau reminded me of cultural performance experiences I have encountered in places like Samoa, Fiji, and Tahiti where storytelling and dance preserve the traditions of Polynesian heritage.
