Dr. Alsahlani helped support my clinic from almost 4,000 miles away during the peak of COVID. While not a clinic patient of hers myself, if I lived in the area, I would definitely trust her to care for my children.

After the visit and follow-up, we were billed $602.49, and I still have not received a clear explanation for why a scheduled wellness visit was billed/processed in a way that left us with significant deductible charges instead of being covered by insurance. They do not let you call the billing department, so I first emailed billing about the issue on April 22. After no response, I followed up on May 1. After still not receiving an answer, I emailed again on May 12 just asking them to acknowledge they were receiving my emails. They finally responded on May 13, saying the issue had been sent to upper management and resubmitted to insurance. I had to follow up again on June 2 before receiving another brief response. At no point did I receive a clear itemized explanation or a direct answer to my main question: why was a pre-scheduled 4-year wellness visit not billed as a preventive wellness visit? At this point, I am out this money unless I pursue formal legal options to recover it. And now I need to find a new pediatrician as I would be stupid to work with this people again.

I hate writing three star reviews because it looks like a mediocre experience, but in this…read moreinstance, they were truly A-OK--nothing that ever knocked my socks off but nothing notably egregious, either. My son was rarely sick, but when we needed to get in, we were always able to get an appointment. His regularly scheduled check-ups went well. The singular waiting room is a bit small so you can't really escape if there's a sick kid in there (or if you brought a sick kid). They went through a few nurses during our two years there, and some were better than others. The note-taking/note-reading sometimes lacked, as they scared me to death with questions one visit, asking me all these developmental questions about what my son could do and I kept answering no, no, no, and they were getting really concerned...which got me freaked out. Come to find out, they thought my son was 2.5 when he was only 1.5 (yes he's big for his age, but his age is in the file, it was just read wrong). Dr. Saker was nice enough overall, though we didn't quite mesh on some issues...but I consider that mostly my fault since we didn't interview a lot of pediatricians beforehand, we just went with who my OBGYN recommended. If I didn't like what she told me, I just shook my head in agreement then ignored it once I left the office (I'm sorry, telling me that my toddler needs to lose a few pounds--when he's perfectly proportioned, he's just big for his age--is ridiculous). That said, she always took the time to answer all my questions and she was always nice and gentle with my son. I wouldn't NOT recommend this office, but I also wouldn't tell you to steer clear. I would definitely visit and see if you feel comfortable.
