This doctor is completely incompetent. The…read morenurses/receptionists are the WORST, they speak about patients at the front desk, ABOUT their medical records. They antagonize every patient when they are not within ear shot. I overheard the receptionist saying, "Get off your phone, get off your phone...." while a patient was respectfully standing AWAY from the window, finishing his phone call. She had plenty of time to wait and the waiting room was nearly void of patients at the time. Doctor THOMAS BARRIGER called me by the wrong name and simply shrugged and said, "Well close enough!" And he NEVER listens. He sits at his computer and stares at the screen. When my blood pressure was too low, and ai complained of headaches, he told me, "Well I get headaches every day..." When I called for test results, they hung up on me not once, but twice! On more than one occasion! Do yourself a favor and find a doctor and staff/nurses that won't talk about your medical records loud enough for the entire office to hear! A doctor who knows your name and an office that doesn't run like a circus! I posted this SAME review under the doctors name as well.... find anyone, but this office!

Make sure to clear a whole day- you won't know when you'll be seen or how long the visit will take. On the positive, she's really nice and actually cares. (Which is why i like her since my other doc never did any testing for anything) she truly goes the extra mile to help her patients and that's one of the main reasons why I go back to her. The app doesn't work. They "don't process refill requests from pharmacies". You can't request refills online because of the broken app and the front desk doesn't care about patients, the receptionists are rude, dismissive and accusatory. I had a physical in March. I assumed that my doctor just refilled all my meds then but she didn't. I needed one today so I called to get that handled because Troy Internal Medicine wasn't responding to the pharmacy. After a 20 minute wait a receptionist finally answered and was completely disinterested in anything I had to say. She was rude and dismissive, for no reason. She also didn't pay attention to what I was saying and got the name of the medication wrong. ( I found this out hours later ) A couple of hours go by and I call the pharmacy, Troy Internal Medicine called in every medication OTHER THAN THE ONE I NEED. I called the doctor's office back ( another long wait ), got a different receptionist and she informed me that the medication I needed came up on something called MAPS as being filled in March. I told her that it was last filled in January, read it from my bottle and she all but accused me of drug seeking. I was totally confused because the medication I needed isn't even a controlled substance in any sort of MAPS sense and I've been taking it for decades. she assured me that she would discuss it with my doctor. I call the pharmacy, they confirm that I didn't have it filled in March and ask the doctors office to call them, I call the doctors office and after another 20 minute wait I ask them to call the pharmacy. I wait another hour and call the pharmacy, of course they never received a call from Troy IM. This time the pharmacist answered and he said "they are confusing the medications, they think you are asking for drug A, which was refilled in March, ( and I've taken 2 of ) not drug B which was last refilled in January and isn't a MAPS drug so they flagged you as drug seeking for the wrong medication. FLAGGED ME AS DRUG SEEEKING???? what??? All because ONE receptionist didn't want to bother listening to what I was saying. She shouldn't be working with people and she definitely shouldn't be working with patients at a doctor's office. Bottom line: avoid this doctor's office. the ratings are in the toilet for a reason.

However, right now for example, I have been waiting seven days for a response to a medication pre-auth question I had for her and have written twice more- nothing. No response. I have called three times and am on hold so long I must hang up (12-15 minutes on hold before hanging up.) I've had to drive up to the office in the past just to get through to someone. First…read moreyou will only speak to the actual Dr. on your 1st visit, every time following that you will only speak with their "assistant". The assistants are good, but seem to be over worked because they NEVER follow up on anything they discuss with you. You will have to continuously call back to request for follow up on the things you discussed with them. I went in for an insulin pump on my 1st visit and gave up after a year of seeing no progress. I went to my PCP instead and had a pump within a month. You will also have to wait at least 6 months to get an appointment to speak with these "assistants". Here's the straw that finally broke the camel's back for me. I had a heart attack and while in the hospital one of the Doctors from this fraudulent office stopped into my room each day. They looked at my blood pressure and said, "Your blood pressure looks good, I'll stop back later to discuss your diabetes with you." They never stopped back later to discuss my diabetes but came back the very next day with the exact same story..."your blood pressure looks good, I'll stop back later." When I reviewed my hospital billing, those visits where they stopped in to tell me my blood pressure looked good were billed as "Endocrine Specialist Diabetes Counselling". This is obviously insurance fraud and likely the reason you can never see the actual Doctor at your office visits. The Doctors are too busy scanning the patient logs at the hospitals to see who has diabetes so they can make these 5 minute blood pressure comment visits and charge them as diabetes specialist counselling visitations while they have hired assistants acting as Doctors at their office. Don't just walk, but RUN away from this fraud of a Doctor!
