I was looking forward to using Maverick for moving only three pieces of furniture and spoke with Ryan. He charged my card $154.00 which I thought was reasonable and told me to send an email to maverickmovingcompany@gmail.com to get a form sent back to fill out. We never went over any details. I didn't hear back and called again. He responded and said he "wants to take good care of his clients" and told me to resend the email so he won't miss it. I sent another email per his instructions and still got no response. I called three times and left two messages and still no response. My move was 1/2/22 and no one ever contacted me back or showed up. I thought this was very strange after reading all of the great reviews on Google. This company moved us across state lines and in the process caused about $2500 worth of damage. The owner, Ryan Shephard, no longer returns my phone calls or emails. He revealed to me that he has a history of drug abuse and I am worried he has fallen into a bad way with drugs again. I just hope he reaches out soon to let me know he is ok. Beyond impressed with Maverick moving company. I heard about them from the Gainesville Word of Mouth page on Facebook & the review was great so I figured I would try. Some of the moving companies in town are SO expensive (I found them reasonable) or you don't get great help. The two guys (Garrett & Mario) who showed up (not just on time but a little early!) were so friendly, helpful, professional & awesome. The person in the phone, Ryan, was exceptionally helpful accommodating my move, even when I had to change it at the last minute due to an unforeseen issue. He was also upfront in laying out the most affordable financial options for me, given my type of move and budget. When my movers did arrive, Mark and Ivan were very personable and exceptionally proficient in getting my apartment moved quickly. Even though I had not ordered it, when my friends weren't there to help me move into my new place, Mark and Ivan stayed and only charged me for 2 hours despite it taking slightly longer. BIG MISTAKE -- don't make the same one I made! and hire Maverick Moving to do anything! I hired Maverick Moving Company to place my furniture in storage in Gainesville, Florida until our house in north Georgia was completed. They were also hired to move us from Gainesville to Georgia. Ryan Sheppard, the owner, is not trustworthy, reliable or professional. I was not satisfied with the quality of service that was provided during the move to storage. The crew lacked supplies to properly protect the furniture, like wrap that should have gone around the leather section pieces and around the wood furniture that was covered with blankets. Not all of the wood furniture was protected by blankets -- resulting in a lot of damage. The owner, Ryan, also suggested the size of storage unit needed to storage the belongings/furniture. I rented another unit because I did not think his advice was sound/accurate. I was correct. The crew , because the move to storage was so inefficient and unorganized, could not get all of the belongings/storage in the two units I rented and ended up placing the residual items in the Maverick Moving "warehouse" at no additional cost (haha). The crew came the morning of the move to storage, late and one man short. The crew left items at the house and left without items being put in storage. They were highly unorganized -- obviously a young and inexperienced crew. I let the owner, Ryan, know that I was not satisfied. He assured me the move to Georgia would go smoothly and that he would personally oversee the move and the crew (total of 4 men). They were supposed to provide a 4 man crew to move, but instead we only had a two man crew. Again, they arrived late in Georgia. They arrived at 7:30pm at our new home in Georgia to begin the unload and did not complete the job until after 3:00am! They would not leave and come back the next day because they kept saying, repeatedly, they were almost done with the unload. By 3:00am, I just wanted them out of my house. Almost every piece of furniture was damaged in one form or another, either from the move to storage or on the long haul from Gainesville to north Georgia in the trucks. At first, the owner acknowledged the damage and said his insurance could cover the cost. However, by the time they were ready to leave, I had a long list of damages that occurred during the move that I had already noticed and showed those items to the owner and the other crew member, Noah. Beside the physical damage to furniture, items were lost/misplaced/stolen during the storage/move. While still in Georgia, I told the owner, Ryan, of a couple of items I had already noticed that were missing and he said he would check on them when he got back to his warehouse. Low and behold, the owner did find a brand new Dyson vacuum cleaner, a smaller battery powered vacuum cleaner and some antique dresser supports for a mirror in his warehouse that belonged to me that was left behind. He did send these to me, but has never found a set of antique bedrails, Bissell Carpet Cleaner/Steamer, a computer printer, a paper shredder, a 24' extension ladder and a glass top to a wrought iron table that I also informed him was missing. Also missing are many tools from the garage. The owner, Ryan, no long will take phone calls from me or answer texts or e-mails. I am EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED in Ryan Sheppard and Maverick Moving. They should not be in business -- although they look good on their website. Please take my advice and DO NOT USE MAVERICK MOVING. If you do, please keep an inventory of all items they lay their hands on and take pictures of all items prior to their moving ANYTHING! Going to small claims court. Donna Stricker read more

Mario and Trey were punctual, polite, professional, and efficient at unloading my 26 foot moving truck, unpacking boxes, re-assembling furniture, and even installing curtains! They were expertly careful when handling fragile items. They went above and beyond to ensure our satisfaction. Moving is stressful, but these guys give you peace of mind.
