Always clean with pretty low gas prices for South Reno. I love stopping by for a dirty soda when filling up. They always have the syrups out and Diet Dr Pepper on tap. Plus, their ice is the best! Lime and cherry syrups with DDP are the best. And as an aside their restrooms are very, very clean. read more

There are certain conveniences I expect out of a Maverick gas station, fluid to wash windshield, mostly clean restrooms, and ample grab and go food choices. I highly recommend the breakfast burrito!! Sonja makes the best steak breakfast burrito! All the food she makes there is great. I travel for a living & work graveyard. So finding a place to get good food at 5am is a challenge. I've been at the hotel across the street from this location for 3 weeks & I've tried a lot of what they make here & everything has been awesome. Really love the fresh salads & sandwiches. I know you're asking yourself how something as boring as a gas station deserves such high praise... bear with me. This is not just a gas station. This is the mother of all gas stations. More like a small grocery store that sells gas also. Yummy food. Awesome snacks - Maverik has a ton of their own brand snacks (try their trail mix cookie - delicious!). Clean restrooms. A picnic table outside in a clean, well maintained area. I drive past this everyday and now, the wait is over - the doors are open! I've been in twice now - once on opening day when they were handing out samples of their food offerings and again today. They have great prices on your everyday snacks and they also have some finds that other gas stations don't have -F'real milkshakes. Do you know what those are? Allow me to introduce you to a calorie filled treat you'll crave. It's a milkshake or smoothie cup, frozen and available in the F'real freezer. You choose your flavor, take off the protective lid and place the cup in the F'real blender. You blend the milkshake to your preferred thickness. When blending is complete, you grab a lid and a straw (a wide straw specific to the milkshakes so no drop goes unslurped!) and you're set. They have special seasonal flavors sometimes also. Best part? All this goodness is yours with a fast and easy process and an inexpensive price tag! I also appreciate that they have picnic tables outside. Perfect for this coming summer when I take a break from riding the motorcycle and need a place to hang out while I grab a Gatorade break. When this biz was being built, I recall remarking "I'll never use that station." Well, I used it and I'm not ashamed! It's actually a very easy station to get into and out of, and the entire footprint is very large. It seems to be built for the big trucks, and us little guys get the benefit! It could be that it's still new, but the station is well lit and very clean. How can you operate a gas station when you cannot break a $100 bill? That'll be the topic for our discussion for today. My argument is not complicated as in I maintain that you can't. But let's argue about the common sense of trying to why a station trying to operate itself without the proper legal tender is wrong. I mean how about we first give it a round of applause for our "two" employees. Yes that's two whole people failing to piece together the simple fact that they don't have cash on hand. Wow, what a tremendous lack of common sense. Holy Toledo! I mean grown adults, and I'm trying frantically to find just a pair of brain cells to rub together and utterly failing. My first point, I guess I'm trying to make is that you have an ATM... a machine, a literal machine FILLED with 20's in YOUR building. Okay how about... where do you bank? There 3 banks all within SIGHT of your station? I mean at the end of the day how epic does the amount of LACK in your resourcefulness does it take to make this happen? I mean at SOME point it's your laziness and it comes into play & has an effect on the productivity am I wrong in thinking that? I can think of hundreds of reasons you'd want change on hand, even a lemonade stand figures this out. But welcome to Maverik's exact change only because of horrid training and work ethic? I come here often for my gas and to grab some beer and they have a great selection of beer. Getting gas can be a challenge a lot of times as a lot of people go here and you have to wait sometimes in line. However, it is a nice location to meet up with others if you ride motorcycle as they have an area you can park your bikes and meet. It is rare for me to review gas stations, but the Maverik on South Meadows in Reno deserves special mention. This new station is located just east of Interstate 580 on South Meadows with easy access and lots of parking for a gas station. I was interested to try their Ethanol Free Clear Gasoline. It is about 40 cents more per gallon than regular E10 gasoline likely due to tax credits, but the pure gasoline has about 4% more energy than E10 anyway. It's hard to figure if it's better in my Prius, but it's fun to try! The real star here is the convenience store. Maverik has evolved into a real destination much like Quik Trip and others across the country. Their food and drink options are extensive in their bright and clean stores. If you can't find it here, you're not looking hard enough. It would be great if they had Top Tier Gas, but Maverik is a clean and fun addition to the normally boring world of gas stations. read more

Went in this morning for a coffee and breakfast. Nice gas station has a taco bar which was cool.. When I went up to the counter to pay the cashier did not say one word to me. Not even swipe your card or a total. When I was completing my transaction with my card I looked up and we caught eyes. He then said to me "What are you looking at!" I didn't answer him so he said "What you don't want to talk to me!" I said "Not really and I just looked up and we happened to make eye contact!" I just took my things and left. There is a shell station that pretty much sells the exact same merchandise right next door that I'd be happy to go to from now on. read more
