Kind of a weird Walgreens. Seeing the building from the outside, without knowing it's a Walgreens,…read moreyou'd think it's something special, like a mini stadium or something. They have a fully painted parking lot, which is something I've never seen, bars preventing large vehicles from entering, and the architecture of the building itself is out there. It also looks from the outside that it's the largest Walgreens in history. However, when you walk in, it's exactly what you expect from a typical Walgreens, which isn't a bad thing.

Ten years later, I feel the need to update my review. And Yep, I still come here…read more LOCATION: It is close, it is walkable and the light sequence at the intersection has been improved. I have only been almost squished about 3 times in the last 10 years. Not bad for Reno. CONVENIENCE: They are no longer open 24 Hours. The Pharmacy window is only open 9:00am to 8pm with a half hour closure for lunch. The rest of the store still cares a huge collection of stuff. Items that apparently are "shoplifting magnets" ie most beauty products are now in locked shelves. ATMOSPHERE There seem to be fewer "dodgy" patrons than in the past. Shelves are better displayed and don't seem as cramed. It is clean and well lit. SERVICE: Still pretty slow, and staff has been drastically reduced. I have had no problems with either the pharmacy or the front checkout, it just takes a while. On the plus side, staff are friendly and professional. My insurance no longer covers prescriptions from Walgreens. I just learned that Walgreens is not affiliated with the large third-party Pharmacy Benefit Manager. So the convenience and location have been major factors in me continuing to shop here.

I said "Slurpee" (there is a nominal difference in price) Between the two. I paid for the Slurpee and the food. I filled up the cup and the clerk came up and said I paid for a fountain drink and not a Slurpee, I corrected him and he called me a liar. I agreed to pay the difference and was going back to the register and he was mumbling something to me and I called him out on it there was a verbal exchange that was escalating, fortunately it could've been worse. I didn't yell any racial slurs at him (although he deserved it) So hear it is and it's such a cliche typically people from the middle East are rude in nature. It's not an opinion IT IS A FACT!! This guy was aggressive and rude! Mostly people like him are just rude and I can tolerate that from other 7-11 operators this guy was way worse. I'm boycotting all 7-11's with these type of people running them. I paid what I asked for a frozen drink and was called a liar. I wasn't aggressive until this a**hole wanted to make it a problem. If you have to lock up the cups genius maybe you need to operate a store elsewhere, WAY ELSEWHERE.

In my travels between the old and New Southwest, this location is frequently the most convenient…read moreplace to stop for a soda, or a late night donut fix. This is one of those half-safe locations that can easily lull you into a state of complacency, but some of the types I see shopping here give me pause. It's located behind a bank building, so I'm careful about where I park, and I tend to look at who is inside the store after dark before I get out of my car. But honestly, what I dislike most are the persistently indifferent cashiers that I believe belong to the Eastern family that owns this place. On more than one occasion I've asked about the location of the lack of specific items I wanted to purchase, only to be answered with a shrug. No long lines, a generally clean store and okay parking, along with a location contrived to be on my route, keeps me coming back here every couple of months despite my complaints. It's as good as many 7/11s, and generally kept well-stocked, but it is a far cry from as good as my favorite 7/11 on Mount Rose -- which I consider to be the premier 7/11 in town (see my review of that one at http://www.yelp.com/biz/7--eleven-reno#hrid:pYLdjI8y3rVrYS8Yzf89pw/src:self) Note: I've knocked off one star for the sketchy location which I think is fair when reviewing a 7/11, and 2 stars for the lack of customer service. PS. How in the world did I manage to review this store before my friend Lakewood G? You're sloughing LG. Get to work. :-)
