He even made recommendations for some activities to try and things to check out. We greatly appreciated this personal touch. He had some very nicely designed Woodstock apparel for sale in the back, ranging between T-shirts, hats, hoodies, and other themed items. The Christmas ornament selection was an awesome touch, and we naturally needed to opt for the glass Woodstock VW bus ornament. At the counter, fresh fudge is also sold. This seemed to be incredibly popular, and people waited for quite a while to purchase it, so it must be good! There were countless flavors available, and all of them sounded very good. The shop is clean, well-kept, and the staff are wonderful. Overall, a great stop if you're in the market for gifts for loved ones or anything else I mention above.

They have a lot of very yummy local products, soaps, dishtowels, candles, silly gifts, too much to name. They also have good antiques which are going to be awesome as Christmas presents. I am going to go by on a regularly basis to see what new fun stuff they have so I don't have to rush in December when everyone is out there buying!! I've never walked into the shop and not found exactly what I was looking for. The staff is knowledgeable and eager to help. If, on the off chance, they don't have something in stock you need, they'll order it and get it to you almost immediately. . Plus! They gift wrap whether it's a bar of French Shea butter soap or a Le Creuset Dutch oven. This my favorite store ever.

It smells like straight-up old-school candy- not just one kind, but all of it at once. There are candy necklaces, rock sugar crystal sticks, lollipops, Mike & Mike's, Red Hots,, bagged milk chocolates, Pocky sticks and British chocolates- to name a few. Behind the counter is Caiden- who enlightened me on the British chocolate! Thank you- it was freaking delicious! I was also looking for vanilla and chocolate Now & Later- but doesn't carry those. I also picked up a couple of single candies like Toosie Rolls and a few others that were a penny each back in the day. These are 25¢. Listen, you can get candy from the supermarket and stuff- but there's something timeless (at least for me) about going to the candy store.

For as long as I've been coming to Woodstock, I've shied away from visiting Topka. Primarily…read morebecause I know deep down, prices for their locally-made homewares are hard on the pocket. But what prompted us to even come here was to look for a damn night-light (yeah......out of all things) and had a hunch Topka would carry them. Not many in stock though but a nice mix of styles and colors coming in at $25 (I know....a night-light you asked). So to their defense, there are no mass-produced knick-knacks and their primary inventory ranges from hand-made/hand-painted items, Chimes and a few other things. Prices are indeed up there and I kid you not...a lot of their stuff may not be my style, but the work and selections look interesting. 3+1/2 to wrap it up. We wanted to use our Card to pay, but the person asked if we could use cash, as we were her "first customers for the day". But there was a small sign on the counter that read something along the lines of, "cash is kindly suggested"- I didn't question it- just thought it was odd. I didn't come out as a believer, and I don't know if Topka is going to fuel my day for shopping......but I did leave with a Multi-color Night-Lite.
