Maverick in Battle Mountain, NV was a good stop for gas before the last leg of our drive for the day, ending in Elko, NV. The convenience store is so spacious and clean. It's a good place to grab snacks & drinks. Huge selection of cold drinks in the fridge. There's also coffee if you want something hot to drink. We stopped by again on our return trip It was a short wait for gas pumps despite the gas station being busy. Love the easy access from highway offramp. Restrooms were clean both times I stopped by. read more

It's a maverik! Which in my experience has always a 5 star experience. Unfortunately, I have to give less than that this time. The men's bathroom clearly hadn't been cleaned for a while. It was pretty nasty. To the point I almost felt the need to take my boys to another gas station. Other than that, as always the employees were friendly, and it had the same wide variety of food and non food options to buy in the store. Apparently, the people in this particular store have a problem with their milk supply. Have had two separate instances over the last year where I had to return milk that was within date but curdled the moment I put it in my coffee. This is always in the parking lot as soon as I exit the store. Returned/ exchange the first two times no problem. The third time was on June 6 of this year. This time they had left an out of date half gallon on the shelf dated June 5. I didn't notice when I picked it up when I took it back. I don't know what is going on in their minds but the next thing you know, I've got a "District Manager" giving a false statement, knowingly lying to a Lander County Sheriffs Duputy stating that he had seen video on more than a dozen episodes involving me having problems with milk in this store and that his staff had been complaining for over a year and that they had seen these videos also. And how he trusted his staff in the store ...I stopped him, put my cell phone in his face and ask him to repeat what he had just said about me ...he refused, went dead silent...so did the deputy. Filing a complaint against the sheriffs deputy and I seeking council for legal action. The punchline unbeknownst to this district manager I travel across the northern part of Nevada on a weekly basis. I have visited literally over a half a dozen Maverick stores in other communities, never had one single problem in the entire last two years with any of the other stores I have purchased milk from all of them since I use milk in my coffee in the morning. Wait until they see my bank statement print out of all the visits to their stores other than this one like I said it's the only store with this type of a crew in these types of problems and this type of a district manager, willing to lie to law-enforcement and giving a statement they know is absolutely not true. This is the best place to get gas if you're traveling the 80 thru Nevada, like across the state. I noticed prices here in Battle Mountain were cheaper than even surrounding stops in Winnemucca or Elko. This Maverick here has good pumps and is clean and has a good sized store to get road food. We stopped in here on our way out to Elko and will prob stop here to fill up again on the way back to CA. Gas is way cheaper here. read more

I came in from my car a couple of times, as I'm stranded here with repairs while traveling. The night lady, Tracy was strong, capable and awesome! But come daylight the daytime manager ( and a second skinny youth) told me not to come in without a purchase. I made note that the manager was smoking right next to the propane (the law states @25 feet), and the secondary one told me that the distance was "optional." Please tell me how my movement is worse than, and/or, "not allowed." read more

This Maverick seems to be fairly new, very clean on the outside as well as inside, its location is extremely busy since it is in a great location just off the interstate not too far from Elko but it's a great place to stop and get a break from driving if you're coming in from Reno. Lots of drinks to choose from just a typical maverick. Gas prices here are cheaper than anywhere else in the state currently they are at 3:18 a gallon on May 31, 2021. Generally a smooth operating business. I suggest signing up for their Maverik card that works just like an ATM card at the pump and in their stores. Saves you six cents on gas and you get reward points. Almost all locations are exactly the same layout a few differ. I love Maverik! This is truly the one stop shop for everything you need. Bathroom stops, picnic tables, warm snacks, cold drinks, and all the fixings. I usually grab a tornado, which is a fried delicious taquito, and an energy drink to get me going. If you're in early enough, you might be able to get some fresh Cinnabon's. They charged me 3 times for a single transaction. It has been a month and still having issues getting reimbursed. I made a claim through my bank and they claim it's resolved but didn't reimburse me. Update: I emailed customer service with all the info they needed. They checked surveillance and saw the mistake and will be giving me a refund on the extra charges. They kept good communication with me once I sent my part until the issue was resolved. I'm very happy. read more

I have only been here one time so I can only speak about my one experience. First off, they don't have where you can order an entrée with rice and lo mein,. You have to order in entire serving of one thing. I didn't need all the Szechuan chicken I was given .I only wanted a portion for myself not 12 other people. I certainly didn't want to have to pay for that, but in order to get the food, I just rolled with it. Let's get to the food, as I stated before, I ordered Szechuan chicken. Talk about over sauced. iI was almost as if I ordered soup. And then the salt aspect, holy crap I felt like I swallowed the ocean. There was so much salt in it. I was also forced to buy, a huge container of fried rice when I only wanted a single serving. The fried rice was bland,. So they over salt to Szechuan chicken and they make the fried rice bland. I knew what I might be getting into. I was prepared to be disappointed, I wish they had not lived up to my expectations, and that I could've been pleasantly surprised. read more

This was literally the cleanest gas station I've ever seen, inside and out. In addition, there is just something that you want out of your western US gas station. Its that feeling that you are on a road trip across the great expanse of the western US. Obviously. You also want a good selection of snacks, drinks and low priced gas. Wow... reading these reviews I was wondering if these people were paid to say all these wonderful things... then realized it was over a year ago. This place has really gone down hill. They could have all the business in town if they would stock there food, drinks, and hot window... then maybe run a rag around the whole place.! I have a 4 year old special needs son that attends the local school, in Battle Mountain, NV, from 8am to 10 am. We live 15 miles away from the school he attends. Everyday, this school year AND last, I drop him off at 8 am and go to the Maverik right down the street, go in, get something to eat and/or drink and I wait in my car until a few minutes before 10 am. This saves me a 30 mile trip back home and back to pick him up. Since I also have an older son that starts at 8 and gets out at 5:30, after the after school program. My daughter's abusive ex husband (recently divorced after being forced to escspe an awful sitiation) delivers for Frito lay. He happened to be there today delivering. He was not there when I went in to purchase my items. He parks on the side of the store, so I had no idea he was there as I was sitting in my car, on my phone, not harming anyone. Even if one tries to look into the store, from the parking lot, you are unable to see past the items that are along the inside of the windows.  Just before 9 am, I saw the manager arrive. He went inside and returned to his car just a minute or two later. He looked at me as he was walking past. I only glanced up when he walked by. On his way back to the store, he stopped and asked what I was doing, I told him I was waiting for my son to get out of school. He said well you've been here since before I got to work. Obviously an employee or vendor told him that, otherwise how would he know I was there BEFORE he arrived. He asked me to leave. I asked why, I do this everyday. He stated I was loitering. Which lawfully may be true but why was today an issue since I have been doing the same thing for over a year. I realized at that point that it was Wednesday and Josh (Frito lay vendor) delivers on Wednesdays, so I asked him if it was because Josh was there.  Now, I am a very observant and intuitive person and I notice body language a lot more than most people, so when I asked this question, I immediately notice a change in his body language and the way he looked away from me, paused, and said no.  I left with no further argument and went over to the next parking lot and parked to wait for my son. The other matter, occurs every morning as well. There is a woman that works at the register, who is friendly with Josh. While I'm getting coffee, before she really knows I'm in the store, she is smiling, greeting customers politely at the register and telling them to have a great day, in a very cheerful voice. When I get in line or to the register, she has a "dirty look" on her face and her tone if voice completely changes. Josh is, literally a confirmed sociopathic narcissist. He has a way of putting on a facade for everyone and must be thought of highly by anyone outside of his home. I have proof that he has "bad mouthed" my family at other stores in this very small town. I have kept my mouth shut since September of last year, when the separation and divorce began and his behavior and comments to others started. read more
