This place is trash. Always unkept. Extremely rude staff .....one particular older and bitchy lady refused to help me when I buzzed for an attendant at the pump......because their equipment wasn't working right (a frequent issue). I wanted to make sure my transaction was cancelled before driving off (as I didn't want anyone to have my card number). As I walked into the store this same grouchy old lady was doing nothing. Out of frustration, I asked why she didn't come out. She said I needed to come inside (even though their stupid machine said that help was on the way). She was very condescending and stated she was sorry I had to walk 20 ft into the store. Flying J hires some real winners. They always have problems with their pumps, the staff are a**holes and the place is dirty. Go to Maverick instead....if u have the choice read more

We went to get gas and grabbed a couple things going through this town. A man named webb helped out and had excellent customer service I hope that the other two ladies that were there can learn a few things from him they were not so nice. i'm only rating this highly because he had great customer service. read more

On December 18th, 2024 I stopped to rest at the Winnemucca Flying J around 8pm. Just before 10pm I was rudely awakened when someone pulled in next to my vehicle playing very loud and very unpleasant music. I endured the noise for about 10 minutes until it stopped. At 12:45am I was again awakened by the same loud and obnoxious music. After enduring the noise for 10 minutes I began honking my horn to drown out the offensive music. The music stopped. I was then confronted by the occupant of that vehicle, which turned out to be the night manager, named Roberto. He told me that I was not allowed to park there and that if I didn't leave he would call the police.(There were at least four other vehicles with people sleeping in them parked in the lot who were not rousted.) This guy was rude, unapologetic and ugly. He has numerous facial piercings and a neck tattoo and his taste in music is simply repellent. He mocked my age and called me names and ran me off the property in my underwear at 1am in the night. I have been buying fuel and snacks from Flying J for over 30 years and never before this episode did I EVER have a bad experience at a Flying J or Pilot. I have also been using the Winnemucca Flying J as my half-way rest spot for years without any objections from Flying J. I feel that this guy, Roberto, does not reflect the values and priorities of Flying J/Pilot. As a result of this bad encounter, the next morning, I purchased $120 worth of fuel at Love's, rather than Flying J. I called the Flying J later in the afternoon and shared my complaint with Adelle, a day manager. She was very apologetic, and assured me that she would follow up on my complaint. I did not hear back from Adelle or anyone at Flying J. After Christmas I contacted the corporate office to restate my complaint. The nice lady on the phone assured me that the manager and the district manager would receive my complaint. But nobody has gotten back to me. I am bitterly disappointed. In the past my experiences at Flying J/Pilot truck stops have always been pleasant and commendable. Every location has always welcomed me with a friendly "Hi! Welcome to Flying J." Roberto seems to have a different agenda than to provide comfort and hospitality to weary travelers. Because of Roberto I will no longer patronize Flying J/Pilot fuel stops. I will spend my money at Love's or Maverick's. Roberto's behavior is an embarrassment to Flying J, but if they are going to sustain it in spite of the customers I will take my business elsewhere. Your price hikes on food are outrageous. 20$ now for two pieces of meat loaf, cold hard mashed potatoes, and a spoonfull of green beans. I can get a solid meal at a restaurant for that money across the street. I vow to move my business to loves truck stops where they keep things reasonable. You're loosing 27 of my trucks/fuel cards/ drivers that have been dedicated to flying J for 17 years now. Sick of this. 30$ plus bucks for food, coffee, and chips is wild. read more

I've never reviewed a truck stop before, but I was impressed enough with this Flying J that it made me want to sing its praises. First off, the gas was insanely cheap. 30 cents cheaper than anywhere else in Winnemucca. That's what brought me there. But when I went inside to use the restroom, I was very impressed by the extensive array of snacks and hot food items. The bathrooms were quite clean and when I was leaving there was somebody coming in to clean them again. Also. it has a Cinnabon. Enough said. read more

When driving across the Nevada dessert you can always count on Flying J to pop up over the horizon. Decent gas, somewhat clean bathrooms, an assortment of corn dogs, fried burritos, french fries, and the biggest fountain soda cups this side of the Mississippi. We stopped in for gas, mountain dew, corn dogs for the kids, and a bag of seeds to keep me driving across 80. The next time I am driving through Winnemucca, Flying J will get my business. In theory it should be 4-5 stars because you should be able to fill up your tank, walk the dog, empty your bladder and fill your belly in one shot... But the line for gas is tedious (especially as of late, when RVs take up FOUR FRIGGIN ISLANDS!!!) and the cashier is slower than my grandma. I started bypassing Flying J and heading one mile west off 80W to the Pilot, where they have all the amenities that Flying J has but with fewer crowds and a Subway for healthier grub than greasy pizza and fried gas station food. read more

It's is sad that everytime i come here the soup pots are burning dry empty, employees don't keep up on it and when you enquiries about when they put up next batch, they haven't even looked into it, or it going to be 10-15 min, poor management.... read more

If you just spent a week or two at Burning Man, when you get back to civilization more often than not the first thing you want...is a shower. And Flying J is like a true oasis in the desert with hot showers and enough water pressure to blast a week's worth of playa dust right off you. Sure the parking lot is tight and usually a zoo. The cashiers can be slower than molasses in January. And the C-Store is overpacked with small aisles and lots of excess merchandise. So what. Pay the $10, hop in the shower and forget all about that. Returning to Camp Reality after a week at Burning Man seriously sucks. But again a hot shower makes the transition a bit easier and will help you reset for the long drive back home that awaits if you're heading East on I-80. If you're approaching Winnemucca heading Westbound on I-80, don't exit at the first Winnemucca exits. Keep driving through Winnemucca on I-80 as this Flying J is on the West side of town, on the South side of I-80. It also shares a parking lot with a McDonalds which makes it easier to spot as I-80 curves right at the exit ramp to get to it. read more

Several years ago there was controversy over flying Js and the American flag. We stop at this station because it is the biggest one for our RV. But where is the American flag? There is one flying on a lamp post on the Main Street but not on your property. Every time I go in I ask one of your clerks where is the American flag flying at? Clean bathrooms, large coffee area, friendly staff. They have a Cinnabon inside, and great options for snacks. I might be biased, sat down at a slot and won over $100 in 2 minutes. Made up for Renos loss (thank god). Easy to get in and out of, great truck stop! read more

As noted, lots of big trucks, but very convenient, just down the road from the motel, and near the McDonalds. Nothing amazing about it, but obviously a favorite of truckers who know where to go. read more

Best place to stop in Winnemucca for gas. It's usually the cheapest place as well. It's a great halfway point between Reno and Elko. Their restrooms were VERY clean (always a plus when traveling) and they have quite a big convenience store. It's right off of the freeway, so it's a great place to stop. This is my 'go to' spot when I go through Winnemucca because they have good coffee and this location is usually very clean. I stopped on my way back to California on Monday morning and the men's bathroom was filthy and there were no seat covers for the toilets. The trash cans were overflowing and the urinals looked they had not been cleaned in several days. This place has been better but today is sure looked run down and not well kept like previous visits. read more
