    Large coffee
    Tommy J.

Coffee, caffeine, and More coffee/caffeine... A fun thing for me in the morning is to drive around and checking out some of the cafés and try their coffee. This started when I went to a place downtown called two chicks and I just really really enjoyed a cuppa coffee. When asking what type of coffee they use, they said they roast their own coffee... A little sad because I would love to drink this at home, but nothing to take home. So I was at Mavericks filling up, and I decided why not try the coffee here. The price is fairly decent $1.79 for large $1.99 for extra large. When I walked in, I was greeted by an elderly gentleman that asked if you could help me. I told him I was just there for some coffee but I've never had it before. He began to explain the different types of coffees and all of the things that I could add to it. I was really impressed. But friendly or not, I still have to try my coffee right? There were about six or seven different choices of fresh brewed coffee. Dark Brazilian roast, light some Motrin, high caffeine, House blend, Colombian, decaffeinated. I decided to go with about 2/3's cup of the house blend, and added 1/3'rd of the dark Brazilian roast. I do cream and sugar, and the elderly gentleman that works there came up to me and handed me a couple of little containers of 'Stōk' espresso caffeine. The warning label on it said 'warning do not take more than two a day' LOL. So I asked him how much the extra shots were, he said they're included with the coffee bar. Bonus! As for the cream and sugar, there is a large selection of international delight creams with flavor, and cold stone creamery cream.. I went with cold stone cream. I also noticed there were about six or eight flavored syrups that could be pumped into the coffee. Caramel, vanilla and I didn't catch the name of the other ones. But yeah, lots of options for your daily cuppa Joe. After you get your coffee fix. They have a hot food bar, a hot dog bar, a cold deli section, and a pastry/donut section. Not to mention all the normal convenient store items like chips and nuts, beer etc. I really do love this place.

Located in a shopping center next to Ramey's supermarket, Carmelita's Taqueria delivers the best menudo in town and also serves some of the best scratch chilaquiles you will ever find. We visited on a Saturday morning and was able to find seating for our family. The menu's diverse selection covers the traditional items you expect but if you want to experience more variety, you have those options as well. Carmelita's delivers generous portions with reasonable prices. I must say everything is handmade and easily full of delicious flavors and also salsas to meet any pallet. We tried the menudo, pozzole, chilaquiles and other dishes and all were perfectly seasoned and absolutely delicious. Again, best menudo and the garnishments provided were all fresh to include homemade tortillas. Restaurant was very clean and service was excellent. They can accommodate large groups but be mindful this place is very popular. Carmelita's Taqueria is highly recommended. I do expect to visit several more times before heading back home. I also had to grab the high chair myself (I'm pregnant) while carrying my toddler and the high chair. Other than that, the food was great! I had the menudo and my son had the chicken tenders with fries. I like how crispy the fries and chicken were and the menudo was very flavorful and rich in broth. You can get half an order of menudo or a full order and i definitely could have done with half an order. The full order is worth the price for the portion size and the dish comes with freshly made tortillas. I highly recommend trying this place if you're in the area and hungry. The agua de Jamaica was really good too.

The owner of Ruby Shake Shop routinely parks his Audi in the limited public street parking spaces along South Virginia Street directly in front of Raising Cane's, Ike's Love & Sandwiches, and the surrounding businesses. Anyone familiar with this area knows parking can already be difficult, especially during peak hours when people are trying to grab lunch, pick up an order, or make a quick stop. What makes this particularly frustrating is that these spaces appear to be occupied for extended periods of time, often throughout the day, by someone who owns and operates a nearby business. Public street parking in a busy commercial corridor is a shared resource intended to serve customers and visitors, not to function as a personal parking space for a single business owner. This review is not a reflection of the products or service at Ruby Shake Shop. It is simply feedback regarding what appears to be an extremely inconsiderate use of limited public parking in an area where parking availability already impacts customers and neighboring businesses.

When I have big parties and all the family over, three dollars a pound difference can be $30 cheaper to go to one of the other options. A couple of times I have asked the counter person if they sell pork belly uncooked as it is a butcher shop and they have plenty of uncooked meat. But she says they do not. I wish I did so it would save me a trip to blue ribbon butcher. I have not tried any of the deli foods, but they have a nice menu. To those that are wondering, this wildly popular mobile food truck does not have a dedicated Yelp business page but their truck is a staple part of "The Eddy". This is a community space where several other small businesses collaborate together in one communal area complete with music, games, and onsite entertainment. Since this is in the heart of Reno, you are in close proximity to the Riverwalk, Truckee River, and the glitz and glamour of the various casinos and entertainment all within walking distance. I came here (The Eddy where "La Barca" is located) with my lady during the evening on Thursday 7/2/2026 at around 8:00pm. The mobile truck itself does not have any recognizable insignia or logo other than their name above the menu as well as their Instagram page: @labarca_62. However, the truck itself has a very cool theme to it with a painting of an ocean, shark fin, and an dark orange/red sunset which gives it a very colorful look. The menu is very simple with only your choice of a taco, burrito, quesadilla, asada fries, and a torta with all the popular meat options. Keep in mind that we barely made it here before they close as their hours of operation are 12:00-8:00pm. Since we were quite hungry after a busy day, I went with (1) Carne Asada taco and (2) Al Pastor tacos while my lady opted for (3) of their Carne Asada Tacos. The guys that run the truck were full of good vibes and energy which made the whole experience that much better. I will say that the tacos here were a bit on the pricier side (at $4/ea) but you're getting all the fixins including fresh sliced avocados, limes, jalapeños, and both red/green salsas to go with your tacos. As many of you know, I am a sucker for some good tacos and I will say that this place knows how to make them absolutely delicious! Both meats were seasoned to perfection and loaded with so much flavor. The red tortillas gave these a rather colorful look which set the tone for every savory bite. I will say that these tacos can definitely rival some of the best I've had in other cities like Sacramento, Los Angeles, San Jose, and San Francisco. All in all, "La Barca" is as good as it gets for me when it comes to Mexican food. My rating, a perfect five stars.

She smiled and gave me my food. So really nice service. So with post Covid inflation, prices of fast food restaurants has gone a little crazy. Double burger and cost around nine dollars. You could buy 3 pounds of hamburger at the supermarket for the same price. Frankly, I'm not sure how these fast food places can sustain this. However, I did fine trick to getting a decent meal for less than $10. Now for the food: First, you have to have the app. As of late, you get a free french fry with the purchase of any drink. So I order a large sweet tea, extra ice, and get a free french fry. Then some of the McDonald's, not all of them when you add a double quarter pounder to your order, you can customize it adding an extra quarter pound Patty for $1.50. Some of the other McDonald's will charge you three dollars, however, the one it's only $1.50. A nice thing about being a quarter pounder, I don't think they can actually reduce the weight and still call it a quarter pounder. Not really sure. So with free french fries and $1.50 extra for a quarter pound Patty the total for a triple burger large drink and french fries is $9.70.

When we got to the window, the order was completely ruined: Nachos BellGrande: Explicitly ordered with NO sour cream and NO tomatoes. It came loaded with both. On top of that, it wasn't even fully wrapped or closed, so it literally fell apart while trying to eat it. Cantina Chicken Burrito: This was a joke. It was so stuffed with cabbage you couldn't even see any meat, and it wasn't even rolled! It was served completely open, "taco style." Last time I checked, I don't work at Taco Bell. I shouldn't have to fold my own damn burrito. The Sauce: I asked to add creamy jalapeño sauce. Instead of actually putting it on the food, they threw a jalapeño salsa packet on the side.
