I'm came here for ice and gas. This was one of those days where everywhere was out of ice so i was bit frustrated and ready to be disappointed haha. First I put gas in and the pump seemed dirty but still pumped my gas just fine. When I walked in, there were 5 people in line with one cashier. However there were 2 self checkouts that no one was using so I used that. I grabbed jerky and rang up the ice. They had plenty of ice. I've been using Maverik for years now. I go there for gas and use their card that saves some bucks throughout the year. A great and easy plan to set up. I also stop there for their amazing breakfast burritos. They also heave a great selection of snack and beers. Even salads if you forgot to pack a lunch. Staff has always been friendly. Coffee, caffeine, and More coffee/caffeine... A fun thing for me in the morning is to drive around and checking out some of the cafés and try their coffee. This started when I went to a place downtown called two chicks and I just really really enjoyed a cuppa coffee. When asking what type of coffee they use, they said they roast their own coffee... A little sad because I would love to drink this at home, but nothing to take home. So I was at Mavericks filling up, and I decided why not try the coffee here. The price is fairly decent $1.79 for large $1.99 for extra large. When I walked in, I was greeted by an elderly gentleman that asked if you could help me. I told him I was just there for some coffee but I've never had it before. He began to explain the different types of coffees and all of the things that I could add to it. I was really impressed. But friendly or not, I still have to try my coffee right? There were about six or seven different choices of fresh brewed coffee. Dark Brazilian roast, light some Motrin, high caffeine, House blend, Colombian, decaffeinated. I decided to go with about 2/3's cup of the house blend, and added 1/3'rd of the dark Brazilian roast. I do cream and sugar, and the elderly gentleman that works there came up to me and handed me a couple of little containers of 'Stōk' espresso caffeine. The warning label on it said 'warning do not take more than two a day' LOL. So I asked him how much the extra shots were, he said they're included with the coffee bar. Bonus! As for the cream and sugar, there is a large selection of international delight creams with flavor, and cold stone creamery cream.. I went with cold stone cream. I also noticed there were about six or eight flavored syrups that could be pumped into the coffee. Caramel, vanilla and I didn't catch the name of the other ones. But yeah, lots of options for your daily cuppa Joe. After you get your coffee fix. They have a hot food bar, a hot dog bar, a cold deli section, and a pastry/donut section. The gas station is clean and the employees are nice enough but this review is truly for the Bonfire Grill inside. Y'all, I am not one to dabble in hot gas station food but the breakfast burritos they crank out of this place are SO GOOD. Absolutely delicious and fresh! We were renovating our home and not able to use our kitchen but needed something quick and nowhere else was open early. We figured we would give Bonfire a try and holy cow! I now get a breakfast burrito at least once a week from here. You can't beat the taste, price, and convenience! read more

You know, when this place opened and up to the last year or so I would have given it 5 stars easy. But the last year it's gone downhill bad. Take this morning. We stopped in just for gas. The store is somewhat busy and there are 4 people behind the registers. Not one time did ANY of them look up from their phones. Not once. Soda fountain delivers medium flat soda! Increase the pressure. Better bring your own cup because cups are non-existent or severly limited for soda fountain. Cashiers NEVER say "thank you" or "have a nice day" at the end of every transaction, so I always say "Thank you, and have a wonderful day!" with a joyous ring to it. Still nothing. I was so happy to see a Maverik come to Reno! We have family in Eastern Nevada and always fill up at Maverik out there when we're in town to visit. As such, we have one of their "Adventurer" cards that gives you a discount on the price of gas (2 cents a gallon). I'm not sure if they still offer these cards, but we still have ours and it still works! Things I like about this particular station: Single Pumps - You aren't having to battle with someone behind you or in front of you, makes for a lot smoother flow of traffic Picnic Tables - Handy for people passing through who want to have a quick bite to eat but don't want to take the full time to find a place to eat... not that there's many eating options out here in the North Valleys! Clean Store - of course, it is new so perhaps that's more a factor Traffic Flow - perhaps this could be combined with the single pump part but part of why we HATE going to Quik Stop is because the traffic flow there is HORRID. Almost every time we try to get gas there we have to fight someone for a pump. People are rude, and pushy and the way the lot is laid out it is hard to find any organization at all. We've taken to going down the street to Golden Gate because of this because at least there, the traffic flows better. Now that Maverik is open, this gives us another stress-free option. Fill ups are smooth, quick and painless. And with gas prices what they are, painless as possible is a GOOD THING. Redbox - I'm easy to please and i love any place that has a good Redbox close to my house for those 8:50pm dvd returns. If you need gas and you're in the area, Maverik is a great option. I can't seen any reason to go down the street at Chevron now that Maverik is in town. read more

Just moved to the area and this gas station is right up the street from our new house. Haven't had any problems, gas is fairly priced and the staff is pretty down to earth. Go there a lot to stock up on alcohol. They have these great 18 pack 16 oz cans for about $16 w/tax. Only downfall, if you're with someone else, or a group, be prepared to show ID..ALL OF YOU! The other night I went in with my boyfriend to buy an 18 pack and some smokes and they refused to sell me my items because we both didn't have ID (he had left his wallet at home) So, we drove up the street to go grocery shopping, came back, left him in the car, and I went in solo to pick up my items. Lame. Overall, not too bad once the folks get to know you. read more

I have a BRAIN TUMOR. I bought a truck full of gas and decided to get a drink so I went inside. There was NO ONE waiting in line, as I got a Dr. Pepper Slurpee cup from a girl at the food counter. The Dr. Pepper Slurpee would not come out but I patiently waited as it dripped and NO ONE came to help. The heav- set woman behind the register asked someone about the slurpee machine.........someone yelled 'It hasen't worked all day [but I had 1/2 a cup now so I did not want to put something else on top of it]. Someone should have brought me another cup to use for something else. It was about 10 minutes, then I put the top on and it still was not full but I could not stand there any longer. As I watched people walk behind me to the register [next to the slurpee machine], so I turned and was in front of the register..............then about 10 construction guys came in and lined up in the center of the store........I waited and waited as the heavy set woman waited on them. She yelled to me......"MAAM THE LINE IS OVER THERE". I said "Are you kidding me?" [because I was there for about 10 minutes TRYING to get the slurpee machine to work...........so I set the cup by the register and walked out. WE HAVE A MAVERIK CARD and my husband always gasses up our cars. The bathroom is clean. They have a huge selection drinks, snacks, and their self serve frozen yogurt is yummy and convenient. I never have to wait for a pump to get gas and their location is easy to get in and out of. What more can you ask for at a gas station? read more

Normally I would give the store 4 or 5 stars but my experience the other day really pissed me off if so I'm writing about it. I went in there with my son about 6:45 in the morning and got him some stuff for his school lunch and the cashier Skye had a horrible attitude. When I informed her that I was using my food stamp card she looked at me with a nasty look and was pretty rude to me after that. I'm sorry is it your job to judge me or is it your job to shut the f*** up and ring my s*** up? On a better note Diane is awesome and should be promoted. But some of those cashiers are rude and have a horrible attitude and need some serious training in customer service. This place is scandalous along with the manager SANDY! It was a busy day there I asked for gas on a pump 5 they put it on another one and said someone else took my gas and it was my fault!!! They wouldnt give me a refund of $30.00 wich I payed cash or try and compinsate by giving me gas on my pump!!!! this score is based solely off of the man working the graveyard shift. my girlfriend went into the store scared after someone decided to follow her to the gas station. with them outside this man instead of calling the police decided to judge her for it and act like she is crazy. I will not lie I called the store and yelled at the man. who in their right mind is going to rub salt in the wound that could have been someones life? ridiculous. if your staff cant seem to call the police I would really wonder what they might have on them in this case. terrible. read more

Rude, nasty and mouthy staff. I was in line and putting my stuff down on the counter. There's only 1 cashier open. Well, the gal in front of me was an employee and she runs over and says I'll help you guys over here. (Thinking everyone behind me) everyone rushes over there and the gal at the register looks at me and says "uh you need to go over there- I'm going on break" after I was next In line and everyone cut and rushed over to the one. She was super rude and I had to grab all of my stuff and go to the next cashier on the other side AND! Wait. Okay no biggy right? Wel that cashier says "she needs a break and the wait wasn't long" first I don't care if she needs a break. My items were in the counter and sitting there. She had plenty of time. However while I was at the other cashier she was still standing there talking. And now the cashier in front of me is stuffing her face full of food she just bought. I'm standing there and she points at the total once. And I'm still standing there. And then she points at it again rudely. She then says it's 14.88! Food being spit out and all. NASTY. TRASHY! Poor customer service! And pathetic. MAVERICK NEEDS TO RE-EVALUATE EMPLOYEES! Check the cameras 3/25/17 11:20 ish. Give or take a few minutes. I went back in to grab something else too. I was at the gas station right down the parking lot from maverick late at night, when a man asked me to give him a ride to the other gas station. I tried to be polite and say I was going the other direction but he just asked to go to the one in that direction. Which was maverick. I hesitated and got nervous, kind of made a noise not knowing what to say and I think he thought I said yes. I was trying to make a call and stood outside my car for a minute trying to figure out what to do. I was about to get in the car and he heard the door unlock and got in. I didn't know how he was going to react if I said anything about him getting out. I was really nervous and quickly drove to maverick. When we got there he kind of sat there like he wasn't going to get out and touched my shoulder. So I quickly said "I actually have to go into this store too" and took my keys out and got out with him following me out. I locked my car and walked into the store hoping to get someone to help me get him away from me so I could leave. He seemed drunk I didn't know his intention. Not thinking because I was nervous I brought the water that I bought from the other gas station inside with me. I was trying to get away from the guy long enough to tell the clerk what was going on. When I did, he started judging me and asking me questions like I asked for this to happen. Yeah I probably made some not so wise decisions not telling him to get the hell out. But i was alone. I didn't know what this guy was going to do if I started any confrontation. So I tried to get help and the clerk at maverick during the graveyard shift sure as hell didn't help me. He was rude, treated me like I was crazy, embarrassed me, wasn't listening, and he asked me to just pay for the water. I tried telling him I bought the water at another store and he just talked over me and said "thank you have a nice day" a couple times till I would leave. If you would like your fuel pump to go out then certianly buy gas here, I have never had a problem until I purchased gas here immediately after buying gas there my car (1997 Escort) started sputtering like it wanted to die, it acted this way until the gas was almost empty because I wanted that gas out, went and bought premium at cheveron to attempt to clean it out. I also had the fuel filter replaced...problems never stopped and it ended up dying completely and would not start. I replaced the fuel pump and found metal shavings in the old pump (no clue if that is normal) car runs great now. I was not going to even begin to blame this station until today a friend of mine who also has been buying gas there had the same issue. He is now in a parking lot changing his fuel pump. Beware! that's all I have to say. If anyone else has had this problem let me know I am interested in how many people if any others have experienced this. read more
