Maverick Store #5107 Grinnell, Iowa First time customer at this store today. This store was filthy and not up to Maverick standards. There were no napkins for customers. Asked the cashier, what do I use to eat and wipe my hands, he stated, 'I don't know and then said, we have been waiting in a truck for a week'. I went in to use my monthly $4 coupon (Burrito and large fountain drink) I showed the cashier my coupon and then put in my nitro card, then looked at my reception. I stated, this should have been $4 plus 7 percent tax and you charged me $4.79. The brunette lady stated 'he did not even charge you for the drink'. I politely stated 'I had a coupon for $4 for both and you are over charging me by .79 cents. If you do this to a 100 customer, you are making $$'. The burrito was cold, old and if I can post a photo of it, I will as it was not hot, fresh and looked liked it had been in the display case for over 30 minutes. My normal Maverik store is in West Des Moines off of Mills Civic Parkway near Glen Town Center. It is clean, fresh, very clean and I have always had a positive experience And the food is fresh. I called the 1-800 number to report my experience and she stated she Sent a note to the District Manager, then forwarded me to voicemail of Risk Management. No one has addressed the issue that I was overcharged nor why the coupon was not applied or the fact that the burrito was awful! No Stars or Rating Given as this was a FAIL! read more

It dont matter which location I go to but why is it that you can't properly set to the recommended settings of Your FOUNTAIN DRINKS, as they suck ass. Like they are so watered down & to top it off You charge the most over majority of fuel stations. Today I tried the location in Grantsville, Utah as I tend to give all locations the benefit of the doubt but not a single one has surprised me yet. I was charged $1.70 for a Refill. If you wish to compare to others if to go further up Main street to the Sinclair, my favorite soft drink is Pepsi & I must say it was dead on to flavor specs. Perhaps they can show you how to do it & for the same size Refill cup had cost me only $1.14. This store at 445am has 2 employees at the checkouts to busy on their phones to even say good morning. I used the self checkout and neither one of them took their eyes off of their phone to offer any kind of help. I could of scanned anything or nothing and they wouldn't of known. I've got over $50 in Kum-n-Go reward dollars. BUT, I can't use them or transfer them over. I've called their customer service and they couldn't do a thing. All they can say is go to a store that is STILL a Kum-n-Go and buy $50 in snacks. Well, I don't want or need $50 in snacks. Maverik is going to lose a lot of loyal customers in this area due to their money-hungry ways. I believe in loyalty. They obviously do not. read more

Patrick k. I have enjoyed using the maverick stations , but I stopped at the location in Gallup nm east side and I've not seen a station that lacked merchandise. Both soda machines basically out of product. Shelves are pretty bare also, not a good look for a holiday weekend. Not to mention the big rigs that are parked in the middle of the back lot for the weekend. Hope it gets better. read more

Worst turn over for one of Iowas best gas stations. Kum and go to Mavericks has been absolutely horrible service. The fact I can't get my normal pack of cigs at the age of 37 without being harassed to show my I.d. From the counter emoyee who has seen my id a million times while working the same location under the name Kum&Go is one example. Then to be denied to grab a small cup to get water even from the faucet for my dog during 90+ temperature outside is absurd. I can already tell you this is only the beginning. Watch, the price for my cigs will go from 12.50 to $14.00. I give it a week. But I'm never going back there as I refuse to support a company whose interest is in profit over serving customers who are in emergency need of water during a heat crisis. This store exemplifies corporate greed over customer satisfaction. Never going back. Kum and go failed selling to this company. What a major disappointment. Don't go there if you care about the companies in which you support financially. read more

This place is overpriced, I get food from other gas stations and here it's literally twice the price. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!!!!!

This gas station has great customer service. The lady two times that o went In, the cashier was extremely nice.

Great and convenient location! Fast service! Easy to get back on the road quickly! There are also enough pumps that you never have to wait.

I love this Maverik. The employees are friendly and helpful. I always feel like my business is appreciated. They have yummy sandwiches and salads. The condiment bar is wonderful, lots of ways to customize your food. Their candy and chip selection is massive. The walk in beer cooler is well stocked. Every time I've used the restroom, it's been clean. It's a great store. Now, to those having a problem with the customers that patronize this store. I live by this Maverik, and frequent it almost daily, and have never had a problem with people asking me for money. I've been asked for a cigarette, but I got asked that once in front of Temple Square, it happens. I have NEVER felt unsafe shopping here, even on my 3am soda run. It's not a sketchy neighborhood, it's light industrial, there's a difference. Just remember, carrying a backpack doesn't mean someone's homeless, and being homeless doesn't mean you're a bad person on a crime spree. read more

I only come here because it is convenient. If I stay at my boyfriend's place and am heading downtown for work, I'll grab my Starbucks at the drive-thru next door then fill up here. It's clean inside, but the staff is not the friendliest. There is an older gentleman in particular who is rude often. I once had him comment in a rude way on how I was swiping instead of using my chip when the chip readers were new and I was still in the swipe habit. Then not too long ago I actually did not buy gas, but parked and went in to buy some water and a tornado (these things are a guilty pleasure!), and I barely parked over the line. It was about 8 am on a Saturday and super slow, but that older man commented on how more people could actually come in if people like me would park properly. I never thought that I would say this but I love this Maverick!! I will sometimes even go out of my way to come here for gas. The prices are typically cheaper than surrounding gas stations. The pumps are easy to use and quick to get started. There are always lots of pumps open due to the fact that they have tons at this locations. At night the parking lot is well lit which is a huge comfort to me. Inside is huge and the staff is always super friendly. They have some awesome breakfast options. My favorites are the sausage bundle (fresh baked bread with a sausage patty and eggs all wrapped up inside) and the french toast sandwich (egg and sausage sandwiched between two yummy pieces of french toast). They also have great coffee with lots of creamer and sweetener options. Last and definitely one of my favorite things about this location is the air pump outside. First of all it is free which was the first thing I noticed about this air, I hate paying for air!! The best part of this pump is that you start by telling the machine how many pounds you want in your tires and it automatically adds and releases air until it is the perfect pressure. This alone will bring me back to this maverick time and time again!! read more

This is by far the closest Mav to my work and yet I frequently drive by it, often to go to other Maveriks. It's not the steaming pits that are the one on 900 W. and 3300 S. or the one on 4800 S. and 500 W., but it is frequently dirty and seemingly perpetually out of stuff. It also has one of the smallest hot food counters of any of the stores, which always strikes me as odd because it has to also be one of the busiest. This is one I'll only hit for sheer convenience. It is not one of the jewels of this chain, though staff is mostly friendly, if they can be torn away from whatever frivolity they happen to be engaged in when you may want them to ring you up. That can frequently be a challenge, so don't be in a hurry if you go here. read more

Went in for a quick coffee, the coffee felt lukewarm and I asked the employee if they had any hot coffee. The employee, who's name was Jennifer, told me that it wasn't her problem. When I asked again she said "just leave me alone ni**er, I'm just trying to do my job. I will never return to this Maverik EVER AGAIN. I stop at this store on my way to work, and on my way home from work I love the nugget ice that is at the fountain drink station, I ask for a ice bag from the back to fill up and pay for, one night a over night guy named Raymond told me he couldn't sell me a bag like this because they sale the ice by weight and they were not allowed to use the bags... for a bag of ice! I was pissed went back in the next day and the store director was there... he gave me a bag and has been awesome ever since, and told me if I have any more problems with anyone to have them call him at home, he didn't care if it was 2am! Rose! That was her name, I went in I always go here never one problem... I went to get my single beer and I watched the cashier rose, glance me over, look at my tattoos and card me.. ok I've never been carded but ok... then I gave her a 10$ bill and asked for the rest on pump 4 she checked it then asked another employee to check after she said it was fine she asked another employee and they said it was fine... she then was saying not to be frustrated and I explained it was ok and I wasn't she then told me "goodbye sir you need to leave" I simply walked out smiling.. I waited for a few minutes then went back in and asked for the Change on pump 4 ... waited then went back inside again only to hear her talking about me in a bad way.. I asked again for the pump.. and left .. I am so disappointed I have never been treated this way.. and definitely not here I will not be going back.. and if you have to choice don't either. read more

Honest what a horrible experience. I use maverick all the time in this is the worst I've ever encountered. The gal behind the counter was of Asian descent and if she's not deaf and mute she's the rudest person I've met in Salt Lake. No hello no thank you even when I offered thank you on two different occasions she just stared at me. No name on the name tag of course the last time I shop at that store. Stopped by at 6:15 pm for coffee and a Bahama Mama sausage. The sausage was extremely dry and appeared to be on the cooker for quite some time. Then the coffee was room temp. I tried to speak with the cashier. I walked over and said excuse me your coffee is warm. His reply "it was just made an hour ago" again I replied it is barely room temp. At this point his attitude became more obvious when he proudly proclaimed well it was mad an hour ago spit should be hot. needless to say I did not purchase a hot dog/ sausage not coffee from this store. 6:15 during peak Christmas shopping and the food and coffee are sub-par and the workers absolutely disrespectful. Went half a block west to the 7-11 where I was able to buy my coffee and sausages fresh and hot. And without the attitude the staff and Maverick provided. As close to their corporate offices as this store is one might think the staff and the food would have been more professional. read more
