Been going to this location for a little bit now and have no issues with them. However i am very disappointed on how they treated my wife. They claimed that she did not have a warranty on her tire...yet she prove she did via the receipt. They tried to do a diagnostic but the computer was having issues so asked to come by tomorrow. She went back and they now claim it was a different tire that was the issue and that she needs a new one. Do they not keep accurate records of what people purchase or not? read more

I was a major fan of this location for over a decade. I recommended this shop to family and friends countless times and even wrote a 5-star review more than 10 years ago (I attached the screenshot just to show how long I've supported this business). Unfortunately, over the past year, ever since new management took over, this location has gone completely downhill. I recently came in for two new tires. Due to my work schedule, everything was handled over the phone with the manager, who recommended what turned out to be the worst tires I've ever had. Just five days later, one of them had an issue. Of course, I was immediately told it was a "nail in the sidewall" and because I supposedly declined the protection coverage, I would have to buy another tire. The problem is that the coverage was NEVER offered to me in the first place. The same manager I originally dealt with then accused me of lying about not being offered the warranty and only offered me a replacement tire "at cost." While waiting in the lobby, employees were loudly having personal conversations, including crying, hugging someone in the waiting area, and using profanity while talking about being "pissed the fuck off" at a utility company call. Completely unprofessional atmosphere. I eventually contacted corporate directly. To their credit, they apologized, allowed me to purchase the warranty afterward, and helped partially resolve the issue. But honestly, after being a loyal customer for over 10 years, this entire experience was incredibly disappointing. This used to be a place that genuinely cared about customers. Made an appointment for an inspection, oil change, and tire rotation here. Oftentimes, they'll call me and confirm or to let me know if there's any problems with the reservation, but I didn't receive anything. The next day, I showed up for my appointment, and they say they can't do the inspection because they don't have an inspector in on Wednesdays. I thought it was strange that no one had gotten in touch to let me know they wouldn't be able to do the service I needed when I had booked in advance, but it happens. They told me they would essentially inspect the car that day, then have the inspector quickly check it over again on a day they have one so I could be out quickly. I got my other services completed, and they told me I should come back Friday morning to get my inspection. I wasn't thrilled since I work multiple jobs and don't get much time off, but at least it would be off of my plate soon. I was told I needed a flush and a new air filter, which I wasn't originally planning to get, and left with a $350+ bill. Oh well, if I really needed the services, then I needed them. Friday morning, I come in, I drop my car off, and I ask them how long it will probably take. I'm told it will probably take an hour to an hour and a half, and I leave. Two and a half hours later, I still hadn't heard anything and soon wouldn't have anyone to drive me to get my car, so I get driven back and wait in the waiting room. While there, I overheard one of the employees mention that they didn't feel right that a customer had been told they needed one of the services I was told I needed, so I probably just got scammed out of money I desperately needed, so I was already starting to feel more unhappy than I already was. Once we got near the three hour mark (two to three times as long as I was told it would take), I look around and see my car isn't even on the lift yet. While normally, this would just be an annoyance, I started to worry because I needed to go to work soon. When I asked the employee at the desk, who was the same employee from Wednesday and that morning, he took an attitude and said "you had 3 cars in front of you, I told you that". When I called him out for his attitude and reminded him of all the things he told me, none of which were what he just said, he basically told me that the system overbooked them and he was sorry. The other guy at the desk, after hearing me say that I needed to be out of there in 10 minutes, went and grabbed my key for me. So after all of this, I still didn't get my inspection, but somehow managed to lose almost all of my free daytime for the week and 10x the cost of the inspection. I used to come here for everything and really liked Krystal and Alicia at the desk, but this whole experience cost me a lot of time and money that I didn't have without me receiving the service I needed. Even after this, I probably would have considered coming back because I hopefully would have gotten my inspection at a better price after all of this, but the attitude after THEY were the ones who messed up MULTIPLE TIMES tipped me over the edge. I took my 2021 Range Rover in for an oil change on a Wed. I did not have an appt and was a little skeptical about taking my car to someplace other than the dealership. Chris greeted me immediately and asked me what I needed, I shared my concerns and he gave me the most honest reply. He explained to me the process and mentioned since I was uncomfortable he would personally work on my vehicle along side his co-worker. 45-60 mins later I was all set... he mentioned my wiper fluid which he filled and a few other minor details. Went in for an inspection and tire rotation. They said I'd need wipers or it won't pass, I told them I have new wiper blades which were in the back of my car. They said they'll install them for me. They never did. I even asked the service girl at the desk before I left if they put them on and she said yes. I actually had to put them on myself when I got home. 4 months later I noticed my front tire lug nut was missing. It was a locking lug nut. At first I thought it may have come loose but all the other lug nuts were tight. When I went back I asked the same female service girl at the desk my lug nut was missing. Been bringing my car here, since I moved to Long Island from queens and never again. 2 weeks after receiving an oil change from Mavis my car has been going down the drain. Took my car here on april 15 I believe and ever since I came here for an oil change my truck has been over heating. Starting with the oil light going off. I brand my truck in to get looked at and the main technician was great. He took a look at my jeep and said his co worker put an diffective filter in and it caused oil to splatter all over car engine. He put my truck on a lift and clean it up for me. The next day light came on again and I called to come in which I did. He cleaned it out again and the same thing kept happening with my oil light coming on. He advised to take it to the dealer which I did today, but now I need a pay for a rental due to the dealer having no loaners. I would bring my bicycle here to put in air in tire, this place is very convenient for me and is the only reason why I always came. I love the fact that I could drop my truck off and go home and they would call me to pick my jeep up when it was ready. I will never come here again and don't advise any one too. They have to many inexperience mechanics working here and this is not the first problem I had. I came to get a tire plugged one day as well and deflated a week later. Stay away, you'll regret coming here and never again. Strictly the dealer for now on smh. I called Mavis and the call center answered so i requested to speak with this location directly, I was transferred and spoke to Scott. he gave me a total of $1043 for the 4 tires with tax included and we made the deal. Today i went to get the job done and was offered alignment for additional $89 and i accepted it and my total bill was almost $1200 so I ask why, and it was an additional charge for some valves that we never requested, discussed or agreed with Scott. He asked me not to worry and handed me a business card with $30 OFF of an oil change on his handwriting in the back of it and no refund given, i was with my 8yo daughter so i did not get into an argument at the store with him. Lastly, i dropped off the vehicle at 10:30am and i was told the job was going to be done in 2 hours because they were going to start it right away and they called at 3ish pm to let me know the vehicle was done. I was perplexed. I asked two staff mmbrs that I made an appt and how long for an inspection... "one hour" was the response. I waited the hour and 15min. Ppl came after me and were finished before me! Well, I decided to leave. Customers service is key and communication is important too. They lack both and I will take my business elsewhere. I would not recommend this facility. I did not answer him so he said it louder! I looked at him and said I don't know what you are trying to tell me as I just entered the store. He said "oh, your not the guy with the Mountaineer" and I said no. He then ran out to the parking lot to look for the other costomer but he had already driven away. When he came back in he said to me "what do you need" and I told him that I wanted to make an appointment to purchase 4 new tires and get an alignment for Saturday April 22. He then grumbled again saying "oh, everyone wants a Saturday". He then asked me what size tires I have and I told him I wasn't sure but I wanted the exact same tires that were presently on the car. He then grumbled at me saying "you don't know what tires you have!!" and handed me a piece of paper and pen to go outside and write it down. At this point I decided not to do business with him and told him to forget it. As I got into my car and started driving away he came running out with his piece of paper and pen. His big loss was almost $2,000.00 dollars as I wanted to purchase 4 very expensive run flat tires for a luxury vehicle. Came here for an oil change past Sunday at 10AM after making an appointment online. Unfortunately even with an appointment the wait was quite long. Took about 2 hours total for the process. I'd say about an hour waiting in line for the lift to be available and another hour or so for the oil change. It's great that they have more flexible hours than your typical auto mechanics but I guess the location is quite busy there were already quite a number of cars waiting already on a Sunday morning. They have a coupon online for about $20 for oil change with tax and while its a good deal the wait was a bit excessive. However they did a good job on the oil change and took care of all my concerns. Definitely better to come on weekdays if you can or arrange for a drop off. Waiting room is decent enough but I would be bored here if waiting more than an hour or so. read more

So, back in December I had my brakes changed by these guys, and I was super super happy with the results. HOWEVER, upon further investigation of my vehicle, I'm PISSED...and here's why: Like many others on the island, I drive on the beach and have to air down my tires prior to doing so. First day I go to drive on, I'm airing down and noticed that it's taking longer than normal to get down to 15psi. So for s and g's I checked the pressure on one of them, and realized that this particular Mavis aired my tires up to 50psi..50!!! The tires are supposed to be at 32! Secondly, I was due for an oil change so I went to the Mavis on 110 in farmingdale where I was told that they could rotate my tires at no cost. Obviously I said go for it. The technician came out 10 mins later asking me who touched my tires last. I replied, "Mavis on deer park avenue." He said, "well they over tightened the lug nuts and we can't get the tires off." Awesome. So not only did they over-inflate my tires by 18psi, but the lug nuts were so tight that an impact gun couldn't even take them off! If I blew a tire due to the overinflation, I wouldn't have been able to get the tire off! Called my bff Justin today to tell him what the deal is, he gave me a free oil change. He then told me that I would have to come in to his location in order to honor it. I told him that I wasn't ever stepping foot in his location ever again. Be warned. i've been here many times because i think they're honest. no one here actually owns the business (i think), so they have nothing to gain by ripping you off. they don't try to oversell, and if you don't need something, they tell you. if they can't fix it, they'll send you to someone who can. if they mess up the car , they'll take care of it, meaning you can go back and tell them what the hey, and they do make good. they're just like you and me, going through the day at work, not trying to make money off people when there's nothing wrong with the car. that's why they're crowded.
