Avoid this business! I've been going to this location for several years. They were always courteous and price effective. (I could get my oil changed and tires rotated for about $75). Today I asked for the same service. When I pick up my truck I find that they never rotated the tires and charged me $121 for an oil change! Took in a car with low tire pressure. Advised they repaired and charged 30.00. Tire continue to lose air. Took car back and received call could not repair tire and I needed to buy a new tire. Ask to speak to manager . Manager refused to come on the phone and said I could get 30.00 credit on new tire. Ask the girl what was done to the tire to now make unrepairable.she couldn't answer. There is a reason why this place gets terrible reviews. Took my wife's car for service. Got it back with a cracked driver's side window. Manager said they didn't do it and he has camera footage to prove it. Asked to see the footage, he said can't, I need a police warrant directing him to give it up, company policy. Scammers, indeed. Unless you like giving away money, dont go to any Mavis in Columbus, Ga, namely SHOMBURG RD and RUFFIE WAY, MIDLAND, GA locations. They thought they were going to get me for rotors/brakes all the way around. So I walked back into the service area, without asking, as they didnt notice, so I could look at my brakes (as i saw they had my jeep on the rack). I looked at my rotors, and they were FINE, DID NOT need replacing. Only the brake pads needed to be replace, for $90. Okay, thats fine. They were going to charge me for $250/axle for rotors, so they were really robbing me of $500. STAY AWAY....IM TRYING TO SAVE YOU THE LOSS OF MONEY AND HEADACHE dealing with this company. Lets stop using them, and let them go out of business/put them out of business, they are crooks!!! Its also true, every review that stated they try to "buy your GOOD reviews" is all TRUE!! They have done that to my family and i have witnessed it as well. "We'll give you a discount" -or- "we'll give you a free oil change next visit"...which is all BS...they dont really do 1/2 of what youre paying them for already, you think youre getting FREE anything?? So frustrated! At Mavis Tires on schongburg Rd....To start off....the guy that checked me in James offered an extra discount for a good review....I don't know him and my car hasn't even been serviced yet...had a 12:00 appointment and they didn't pull it in until after 1:00 and that was after I asked when it would be pulled in. while waiting I hear him on the phone bragging that he was going to beat out the whittlesey location and was already at $10,000 for the week, then names off all the things in the shop that he got approved to work on. Money and reviews is all he wants. He just came in to let me know my car was almost finished and he would be back to go over some things they found....I said no thanks....he laughed and thought I was joking... .I looked at him and said I'm serious. At 2:30 it finally came around and he had another guy check me out. $83.25 for an oil change on a 4 cylinder vehicle! I even told the guy checking me out what I heard... First of all I come in and there are two people at the desk. One looks up and then looks back down. Ok may not be Firehouse but a greeting would suffice. I had a 0900 appt, was on time. I was told there is one more car in front of me. 0900 in the morning and you are already running behind. Around 1000 hours the guy comes and ask me where my wheel lock key is located, told him top of the trunk. 1045 another one comes and ask where are the keys to the wheel locks. NOPE! Give me my car, I can no longer wait for you to get started on my car. I'm not sure what happened to the last crew that was there around 6 months ago but this one sucks. There was no organization, they were way over booked and the customer service sucked! I was there to get one tire checked! Then when I asked if it was covered, the answer I got was if I paid for coverage, it's covered. Not one time did she get back with me to confirm what my tire coverage covered! Awful customer service! Told me I needed shocks and struts on a vehicle with52k miles. I took it to another place and found out my tires had 20 psi in all four tires which I thought was weird. Did not need shocks and struts put air in the tires and all is well. Sure beats 2k for nothing. Be careful with these guys. read more

Took my truck in to get a tired repaired. After about 30 minutes some guy came to the waiting area and said he wanted to show me something. Took me to my truck to show me the wear on my tires, let me add that I was very aware of that and it was my fault for not rotating as I should, he proceeded to tell me that I needed new shocks and they would do it for only $288. These people are scam artists for sure. How many unsuspecting people fall for this crap. I'll never go back that's for sure read more

I chose this establishment in particular because of all of the raving reviews. Much to my dismay, the service did not at all live up to the online hype. I immediately needed a complete brake job and was billed for new pads and rotors as well as replacing the brake fluid. It wasn't until I arrived at the dealership for an oil change less than a month or so later that the master mechanic informed me that I needed new brake fluid. Initially I believed this was an oversight (on the part of Mavis). However, I now believe this establishment indeed engaged in unscrupulous business practices by cutting corners. They also refused a coupon for brake pads based on their perceived invalidity of the discount due to my needing a complete brake job which included brake pads. Please do not spend your hard earned money at this franchise. read more

Was in a serious bind where my valve core went bad and was leaking air. Without hesitation they had me pull into a bay and replaced it immediately despite not having purchased the tires from them. I paid over $1,000 to have upper and lower ball joints installed on my Ford T-250 (I provided the parts), 4 new tires, mounting and balancing, and an alignment. I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT TROUBLE EVER SINCE. THREE separate times! The wrong size tires were put on! Some egregious error on their part absolutely RUINED my brake calipers and one rotor. When I complained, I was told that I did not have a warranty, which I expressly told the manager that I MUST have! Less than 90 days later, one of their tires blows off my rim. I had to remove the tire in their parking lot myself and put it back on myself in the parking lot. TODAY, I learned that all four weights had fallen off! How is that even possible?? And another one of their tires was actually separating, too! And still! They say I have no warranty. And STILL, they will not replace the tires that I have paid for and not yet received! The ONLY reason I even give this place a star at all is that their reps and mechanics were very friendly and tolerant. Not once were they rude to me. Maybe a little condescending, since they were talking to a woman, but never out-and-out rude. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO ANY MAVIS LOCATION, I DON'T CARE IF MY TIRES FALL OFF! I'll walk first! I Do not recommend going to Mavis Tire on Schomburg Rd in Columbus,Ga. I spent almost $1000 not even a year ago at this place, new tires installed, alignment, CV Axle and I just had one of my tires blow out. They are trying to blame the bad tires on issues with my car. Now they want to spend another $700 on new tires AGAIN when they should be responsible , they are STILL UNDER WARRANTY. They are trying to state that the ARM caused the blowout and is causing all tires to wear fast and also it is leaking oil. We went there today so they could show us and they really could not show us the issue with "ARM". Instead they make excuses of why your not seeing what they are talking about. The manager got rude with my husband and I, and refused to give us their written estimate. Poor Customer Service and Poor Management. I think they have trained their staff to get you for anything they can to make a sale. The Regional Manager was going to "MAKE IT RIGHT" and he also failed! He stated that an ARM on a car tends to go bad. I did my research, the only reason an ARM goes bad is due to an accident or hitting a huge pothole! I used to have my car serviced only by the dealer. For whatever reason I decided to visit Tire Engineers. I guess I'm pretty hard on my tires (car is 6 yrs old ... 100k+ miles". I was offered tire insurance with each new tire I had to replace. It sure paid off . They make their customers feel like CUSTOMERS. Not sure I'll ever switch car service companies ... btw they also provide full car services. read more

I went to get a replacement for a flat tire and had a horrible experience. It took them 4 hours to change my tire, they called me hysterical and told me to compose myself when I questioned their efficiency, and they overcharged me. Do not use this business.
