I bought a set of tires from them in early January for my mom's car and her car was barely driven because of illness. About 2 weeks after purchase I noticed the passenger rear tire was going flat. I called and took it up there and left it. I picked it up later and they said it was OK and holding pressure but didn't say they found any problems. About 3 weeks later it was flat again. Mom was in hospice by then and I couldn't deal with it so I just pumped it up. About 3 weeks later it was flat again. I called then and they said bring it and it should take about an hour. I was told the tire was "unrepairable" and I needed a new one. After it was installed they tell me they pro-rated it and I owe them $80.00. I said absolutely not . That tire was 2 months old with less than 250 miles on it with a tiny amount of tread wear - and under those conditions according to the warranty on their website it's supposed to be 100% covered with free installation. They were supposed to measure the tread wear - which they didn't. I questioned this. The guy looked at me like I was crazy and started making excuses. What was wrong with the tire I asked? I was told it had a nail in it. I asked to see the tire. The manager said they couldn't find it. Give me a break. I kept complaining and they knocked it down to $40. I made it pretty clear I was highly displeased, they weren't honoring their warranty terms and this was a rip off - but that's as far as I could get. I had to pay the $40 to get my car. Never again will I buy anything from these people. That was the third set of tires I had bought from them over the years. Apparently they don't care about their reputation. Shameful. You don't really know the quality of a company until you have a problem. Now I know about Mavis Thomasville. read more

EDIT: Mavis Tire was good on their word and fixed everything to a T. Manager truly had exuberant customer service. Regional manager was dually a kind and honest person. I made an appointment on Thursday for Saturday at 9:00am and did not get seen until 11:30am, I saw they were taking peoples car that came after me. i told them that my wife's car was pulling to the right and they told me I had to change one of my back tire, told them ok. I also told them that the car was pulling right and that I think k it need an alignment. when they did take my wife's car it took 2hours for a tire and alignment. I took back the car like 5minutes after I left and told them still pulling to the right, anther 30min later got the car back and started driving home and still pulling to the right going back today to ask for a refund on alignment. 7/11/22 just got here spoke with Robby he gave me full credit for the alignment... going to take the car to the dealer..... thanks Mr. Robby!!! read more

Spent 2 hours here last week for an oil change and tire rotation. Got home and found oil leaking. Brought it back yesterday and was told it wasn't leaking! Took it back home and it's still leaking. I had concerns about this company after reading some of the reviews but one of my family members told me this place was reputable. Brought vehicle in for oil change and alignment. Advised that I had a transmission overheating light come on that needed addressing. Was told by the manager they would check it out. Was called a few hours later with recommendations needed for my vehicle. I accepted those services assuming it would fix my issue. I took my vehicle on a trip to Atlanta and the same light comes on multiple times. I call the shop and they then advise they do not work with transmission. I now have broken down on the side of the road with the same light on that they advised they would look at but never did and am having to have vehicle towed to a repair shop. All of this could have been avoided if I was advised they did not work on transmissions in the first place. Now costing more out of pocket. read more

I took my car into Mavis on Friday May 24, 2024 to get front and rear brakes. I told the guy at the front that I wanted them to replace both front and rear brakes. I also left my phone number from them to call if the rotors needed to be replaced. I left Mavis around 10am and went to work. I called back around 2pm since i had not heard from them. I was then told they tired to call and tell me that it indeed needed brakes. So they had not done anything because I had not called back. First off I told them to put brakes on there, Secondly they called my husband and not me. I was then told it would be done in 30 minutes. So I gave them 45 minutes and we up there. Car was still not done. I waited there for two hours before they were done. Then on Sunday while driving my family in the car the caliper comes off. and my brake pad is hanging. I had to have someone tow my care home to see what was the matter. Turns out the bolts were either not put back in or were not tighten when they did it. So I had to buy two bolts to put in it just to get me back to Mavis on Tuesday morning, because Monday was a holiday. When I arrived at Mavis on Tuesday morning at 8am, I had to wait for 30 minutes before the manger came to talk to us. I seen the manger several times walking around in the back. My rim is damaged from the caliper coming off, and they did not replace that. They did make sure that all bolts were tight and were apologetic. They also offered me a refund and free oil change an a free alignment. This had been a horrible experience and scary from my family as things could have gone worse especially with the caliper coming off. I am upset they did not replace my rim as it is damaged. read more

Had 4 new tires put on my truck. The Thomasville, Ga. Location has a new manager and starting to change the culture of the location. It takes time to so this. My visit was a little long but, the manager is going to make this location the best in Thomasville. Please understand that it takes time and patience to change. I went to this place and was told that it would be a hour wait to get a tire plugged. I spent over $2000 at this store in tire purchases. There were two techs working and two reps working. One of the techs had not started a job and could have taken in my vehicle for a five minute plug job. One of the reps could have even plugged that tire if they valued a customer at all. Had Kauffman Tire in Thomasville "check out" my SUV because my rear brakes were making a scrubbing noise. We were visiting family for Thanksgiving and they must have noticed my out of state license plates and sensed desperation. After "diagnosing" my vehicle needed an additional $1200 in repairs to be roadworthy, I sought a second opinion. Another local garage repaired my SUV for less than $200 and informed me that Kauffman liked to "screw their customers". I am inclined to agree so unless you have an unlimited bank account and like being taken advantage of, I'd avoid them like the plague! read more

I recently purchased a set of tires at the Thomasville Mavis and I am sure that I will not make that mistake again. This was my first visit to any Mavis tire store and I can only hope that better service is provided at other locations. My biggest complaint is that Mavis does not back the products that they sell. My car was shaking terribly after having the new tires placed. I immediately returned to the store and the technician test drove my car and agreed that he could feel the car shaking. He took the car back into the shop for about 30 minutes and then returned telling me "I don't see anything wrong with the tires. Drive the car for a month and see if the tires break in". After one week of driving the car with no improvement and feeling like the car was going to fall apart from the shaking, I returned to Mavis. They took the car into the shop and continuously stated that they will try to fix it but only because "you are such a good customer". As if this is my problem and not any of their responsibility. These were obviously faulty tires that I purchased from Mavis and Mavis is telling me that is my problem that they are shaking my car to pieces but they will make an exception and try to do me the favor. They told me that they did find a fault in one tire and replaced it without a charge. The car is currently shaking less that before the replacement tire but it still shakes. I will return the car once again and hope for the best but I can guarantee that I will never do business with any Mavis tire again and I would advise the same for you. read more

JUST AWFUL!!! This place was decent when they first opened, but it gets worse every time I go! Two trips ago, it had become "that garage." The guy there was actually trying to get me to replace shocks on my wife's van based solely on the mileage. Shocks are not replaced by schedule-they're replaced when they're bad. Nice try! It's just a money factory now- I guess times are tough. PLUS-you wait forever for them to do all these inspections you don't want! JUST ROTATE THE TIRES!!! Then, this time, I waited an hour, WITH A SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT, for a rotation, and they never even took it back!!! Don't believe the service they sell you with the tires! I had my front right tire blow out 2 months ago, and Mavis Tire replaced it and also put new wind shield wipers on my car. The tire that was most recently replaced blew out last night and the first time I used the windshield wipers one of them broke off and scratched my windshield. I waited four hours for one tire to be replaced then which I was charged after waiting 4 hours. Secondly, they damaged my rim and never said anything to me about it. They did replace it but never offered to return my money for having to wait. Actually went back in a couple months later to get the refund they said they give me but they told me I waited too long. This was not the first bad experience there....It's been almost every time! Staff are not helpful. In my opinion the technicians are being supervised and if they are there being supervised by someone who's not trained well enough to supervise them. read more
