It's a cute and trendy hotel located in Little Tokyo, which was walking distance to a lot of restaurants and bars. Their lobby provided a full coffee shop, barber shop, and a mini store to buy snacks and some toiletries. The bathrooms in the lobby were very clean. I loved how they had the fancy Toto toilets just like in Japan. We received one drink coupon each and we used them for a couple of glasses of house wine at the trendy rooftop bar during cocktail hour. The bar is all indoor, no outside access. Check in and check out processes were fast and easy. The rooms were very spacious and clean. We loved that there was a huge sliding door that divides the bathroom, but opens up completely to make the room even more spacious. The two single beds stuck together were pretty comfortable though the pillows could use a little more fluff. The shower did not have a curtain or a door to block it from the rest of the bathroom. But because of how spacious it was, we didn't have a problem with water splashing out. I would have appreciated more ledges to put toiletries on. The room provided complimentary still and sparkling water bottles and some toiletries including hand soap. Hair dryer was readily available. There was no available iron/ironing board inside. Our only complaint was that the AC never got cold no matter what we did we the settings, so sleeping was a bit uncomfortable with the heat. There was also no room phone to call the front desk. Overall besides the AC problem, we had a great stay and would definitely consider staying here again if ever we come back to Dusseldorf!

This hotel is within walking distance to a bridge that crosses the harbor so that you can walk to the Rheinturm. The staff gave me good directions to where I wanted to go. Everyone that I encountered spoke good English and were polite. On my second visit I was given a room on the top floor with an excellent view of the Rheinturm; what a difference! There is a restaurant in the hotel that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. As an Elite Platinum member, I was disappointed that I was charged for WIFI but was pleased that I got a nice view on my second stay.

The hotel itself is lovely, the rooms well appointed and clean, comfortable beds and a great shower. The windows open, but if you are facing the airport, it will be loud, having said that, it is very quiet when they are closed. Breakfast is typical German style, no complaints. The bar is nice and cozy. Staff is friendly, helpful and smiling. Being close to the airport, there are many shops and restaurants there if you don't want to venture into the city. The Maritim is a great choice.

The front desk check-in had no interest in telling me that they could give me a full week parking ticket that would get me out of their lot for a small fee. Then when I did get the ticket, three mornings in a row it didn't work, and I had to leave my car in bad weather and block others in to get a new ticket at the front desk. And each time, the staff's attitude was either indifference or humor at my plight. Work meetings dragged on until 9:45 one evening, I had not had a chance to get dinner. I went down to their bar, where ostensibly they serve food until 10:00, they refused. I ended up ordering UberEats. I had two separate stints here in about a two week time period, separated by one day when I was in another city. The first time around, I had a 10th level room, the second time, it was 3rd level. The second time, I was not able to use the Executive Lounge on the 11th floor because I did not have a 10th floor room. It didn't seem to matter that I am a Hilton Honors member with a lot of points. Rooms, breakfast, and the gym were okay, but the inconsistent execution and lack of care for the customer by the indifferent staff leave me saying boo, Dusseldorf Hilton. Boooooooooooooo!!!!!

We booked three rooms and made very clear that we come with extensive photo equipment. Upon arrival, we were informed that the rooms in the first floor (not ideal, since our equipment is big and heavy) and that we MUST NOT use the elevators, as they had a huge function in the lobby and we could not load. We had to carry all gear up the narrow stairs - over 1000kg (2000lbs). Then, we had three rooms - and there was a major issue with the air condition. We were toasted in room #1 and froze our nose off in our retreat, room #3, which we had to give up using. The banquet staff - some I know for decades, were deeply apologetic and brought blankets and coffee and tea - it was really freezing cold. After we left, I checked back with sales - took weeks to get someone responsible on the phone - and I was told "this is the first I ever hear - and why didn't you check with reception (we did every ten minutes) and other stuff. I gave them month to compensate - no interest. If we had not booked our events already this fall, I'd never go again. Sadly, the rooms are rather meh too - we do not stay since years. A shame really, as otherwise the hotel works fine for us and our events.

The atmosphere is contemporary and laid-back, the staff very friendly and helpful. I don't know if they have a lot of clients in the middle of the night, but the bar is open 24 hours. You can borrow one of their bikes (for free) if you are in the mood for a little tour through the city. I did, and really enjoyed it! As a guest, you can use (also for free) the Schwimmoper pool, sauna and fitness complex next door. I went to the pool in the mornings and it is a really nice one. From our spacious bedroom, we had a beautiful view from the city. There are mini-fridges and coffee machines in the bedrooms,free wifi. The breakfast was very good, with a large selection of food and many local products. More and more hotels try to be more eco-friendly, asking guests not to wash towels everyday. This place uses a clever trick to try to get you more motivated; if you choose not to change towels, you put a little fabric bag on your door and you'll get a little treat. Cute and brilliant! My husband who was there for meetings also told me that everything ran very smoothly. They had rented a conference room for a few days and the hotel provided them with coffee, snacks and lunch, all delicious. I would certainly go back and highly recommend the Vienna House.

Arrival for my first visit was a bit interesting. They were doing construction on the driveway to the hotel so the road was semi closed off. That isn't good for anyone driving to the hotel at night. Anyway, ultimately it became pretty easy as parking was available at an underground parking that is connected to the underground floor of the hotel. The parking is under the swim hall adjacent to the hotel. I was never really told how much parking was or how it worked other than I was given a voucher.. I was charged 6.60EUR three times during my visit. So each voucher is good for 2-3 days. I learned this the hard way as one morning I tried to exit with the card and it wouldn't let me out. Luckily no one was behind me and I could back out. The parking attendant explained to me in German and figured it was expired so I ran back up to the receptionist and they gave me a new voucher. So check when your parking voucher expires. Update: On a second visit the receptionist gave me a voucher that covered my entire 7 day stay. So suggest the voucher covers your enter stay. Overall I think the hotel is pretty nice. I think the breakfast is pretty good compared to the Ibis I had also stayed at. I love the location of this hotel It is just a short walk over to a lot of restaurants in city center. The room is pretty spacious. It has a good work space which is shared with the TV. A cushioned task chair as well as a cushioned arm chair. The carpet, drapes, and chair fabric is a bit dated. The bathroom is clean and spacious. My only gripe about the bathroom, which can be problems at other hotels also, is the water temperature during the morning rush. It is a bit of a timing issue. The worst was when the water cycled between pure hot then pure cold. It is a fun game until it goes hot when you are washing your face. As you scream because of the burning the cold hits and your breath is taken away! The wifi here is free. You just have to ask the receptionist to be given a voucher with a user id and password. This is where I feel this hotel falls flat on its face. The internet here is terrible. It is provided by mycloud so maybe it isn't the hotel's fault directly but they chose to use their service. The coverage is spotty. First time I stayed here I got an end room and I could barely get signal. Second time I got an end room again. After testing the wifi, I asked to get a room closer to an access point. You can see them as you walk down the hall. I got a room right next to one. Secondly, even though I got good signal strength the speeds are horrible. I called into customer support if I could pay for a premium service and they said it is not available. So for anyone that has to stay for a long time, this will sour you. At least when I stayed at the Ibis the internet speed was super fast if you pay for the premium service. Since, I am natively speaking English I can watch regular tv so I have to stream netflix or something. If they can fix there wifi speeds here it would help a lot. Side note: It took me a while to figure this out but it seems you can only use the voucher on one device at a time. I had entered the voucher info on my work laptop and my phone. So what ended up happening is each device to kick the other one off and I would just be in this endless loop of having to re enter my credentials. Summary: Overall I like this hotel and the location. Even if you just walk, you can find dozens of nearby restaurants and the old city is only about a 10-15 minute walk from here. The service was good. Rooms were clean. The breakfast buffet got pretty crazy the first day we were there, but only because we arrived later than normal. If you have breakfast around 7:30-8:30 you should be good. They have an okay selection of cereals, bread, fruit, and drinks. Nothing too fancy, but enough to get you ready for a day around the city. The heater worked well, I liked the big windows in our room on the 5th floor, and the soft and firm pillows were nice. The shower also has good pressure. They let us check in early, which was nice. They will also watch your bags if you arrive earlier than they can provide a room for. I will say that the walls seemed a little thin. Especially when around 8 PM on New Year's Eve the room next to us started their loud music up. Nothing like hearing loud, drunken, singing? like it's inside of your room. However, that was the only issue over the 2 nights we were there. I would stay here again.

No butter; it is only margarine.
