Clean, well laid out and full of things I've never seen before and a lot i have. It also has a…read moretakeaway food section with hot dumplings and all manner of things. I've only been in here twice now, both times to get the same thing. Couldn't find it at the normal supermarkets or anywhere else I normally go so I tried here and bingo, they new exactly what I wanted and where it was in the shop, and at a decent price as well. What was it I was after your probably asking yourself about now, well I'll tell you, even though there may be a real danger of causing a stampede to all the Asian supermarkets. But first there is the obligatory story to read, enjoy..... My sister introduced me to these on a recent day trip to Mount Martha, we stopped at the service station and shops on citylink for some brunch and at one of these shops they had beans or edamame as a substitute to chips. Well I decided to give them a go on her recommendation and we bought a tub of beans and a tub of edamame, we then sprinkled some Himalyan salt on them and devoured the lot. I preferred the edamame over the beans, they were also fun to squeeze out of their pods so I have been looking for them in shops ever since. So here I am ready to explore another bunch of new experiences in food from my local Asian supermarket, I can't wait. What are edamame you ask, they are soybean pods, who'd have thought it. Boil them up, add a little salt and get squeezing,Yum.

Caribbean market runs on a few days of the week, but Sunday is where it's at…read more From very early in the morning it is already packed out, finding a parking space can sometimes be confusing due to lack of space, and the road structures. Just before you walk into the main pavilion there are some stalls either side of you. Most of the outdoor stalls sell plants and clothing/cheap socks. There is also a regular yoghurt van and donut van outside. Once inside the entrance is dedicated to food, baked goods, fresh veggies and fruits, lollies, nuts and other food related items. Most people in the market are seen to be holding a plate of poffertjes (Dutch pancakes), covered in some sort of icing sugar or sweet topping bought from its permanent stall at the back wall. This place is definitely a bargain to go if you are buying bulk lollies/nuts/soy crisps. Their range of pastries and breads are also delicious, get a 'Cheese Stick' if you come here. Personally the best part of this market is the computer/electronical side of it. The entire right wing is dedicated to computers, electronic gadgets, printer cartiges, computer programs/games, memory card, USB's; the list goes on and on. Don't be fooled by their brands here, I'm pretty sure all of its 'fake'-but who cares when the 'canoon' ink is only $10. Caribbean gardens also have a cafeteria area with bathrooms, the food here isn't really anything decent (fried tuck-shop style food) and the bathrooms aren't exactly appealing. This place also has a mini train ride on offer, as well as a chair lift, Japanese garden and ponds (to test out your new remote control boat). Definitely a family place, don't expect much for hygiene (it's a market, in a shed with leaky roofs) but definitely come here at least once to see what its like.

I gave it one star out of five, as they were not very good, the environment which is a massive…read moreparklands was great, kids would love it, rides and ducks to feed. The stalls were like if you walk into one of those dollar shops, all Asian imported goods, very cheap junk items. I wouldn't waste the time driving out there to visit if your visiting Melbourne. Visit Queen Victoria markets instead folks.
