If this was the case, then, why didn't they tell us that when we fist walk into the restaurant and seated us outside. I thought at first It was quite odd to seat us outside when the dining area was nearly empty; but after they told us that they could not accommodate our dining menu, that's when we realized there is some type of racial and age discrimination going on that we -- as as senior Asian citizen group sensing. Without creating any further commotion, we decided to walk away and take our business elsewhere. As a season cruiser who like to enjoy fine dining, I would NOT recommend this place!!! It's not what we came to Australia to see and we were very disappointed.

There was one time we came, and that was for some farewell drinks for a friend of mine, however, until recently, that was the only time I ever went there (though I may have popped in a couple of other times). I came back here again when I was back in Adelaide, simply to check it out again. I have to say that it's not bad, though it is pretty flashy. There is a really nice beer garden out the back, which is non-smoking to boot. However they only have the standard beers on tap, so it's not a place I would go back to all that often.

Got the steak - I asked for medium rare and the steak actually came out well done... Had the steak been cooked medium rare then I would have scored a 5 as the average score for my visits here as pretty much everything else I've eaten here has been lovely and even though the steak Wasn't cooked the way I like it, it was tasty and not tough or chewy at all... The pork, pizzas and pan fried chicken are yummy too... The wood oven pizzas are actually to die for. Nice pub with a nice outdoor area and the staff are friendly and welcoming which is great. Pink Moon Saloon is an adorable little bar made to resemble a ski lodge. It may look small from the outside, but it does extend back into a bar, courtyard and kitchen. The bar has a collection of local and import craft beers as well as some fancy cocktails which I'd be interested to try next time. There's a wood fire oven in the back that creates a great alpine atmosphere, especially during cooler weather, but be warned; expect to have that smoky smell come home with you in your clothes. Both me and the wife have been going to the Birkenhead tavern for years and have always enjoyed the…read moremeals. I normally get scotch fillet and used to get the sticky date pudding. When the lady who made the pudding retired and some tried to make it the same it was not even close so o stopped ordering it. Last night I went out with my wife and daughter and my scotch fillet tasted like it had been cooked then reheated. Very disappointed and I will be looking for another venue.

Also, it is a bit further back from the river than I expected it to be, which means you have a pretty good view of some undeveloped land and a bunch of fishermen. Through the "Festival of Food" program was how I discovered this gem many moons ago. It has a fantastic view and is situated at the Windy Point Lookout, as the suggests. The service here keeps the bar high in the hospitality industry. Everyone appreciate that friendly and knowledgable staff is worth their weight in gold and this establishment gets a tick from me. We were here for the Festival of Food preview, the official program kicks off in May. Our food journey begins with the housemade ciabatta with red pepper butter. Our entree tasting plate comprised of crocodile chipolata with a sweet potato harissa, thornby lamb shoulder, ras el hanout, saag aloo with a spinach puree. They were all good except for the lamb. Not a fan of red meat, I gave my share away. The main attraction arrived and they were beautifully plated. I had the barramundi with battered mussels accompanied by a fennel and orange salad. The skordalia paste completed the dish. The barramundi was perfection. Simply melted in my mouth. The salad contrasted nicely against the heaviness of the battered mussels and the richness of the fish. The other girls both had red meat. One had the kangaroo and the other had the steak. Both were happy with how their meat were cooked. We ordered some fat chips to share and did not regret our decision. They were super crunchy and filled a void on a cold Autumn night. As part of the Festival of Food, our dining experience was completed by the arrival of petit fours (French for small oven, is usually a small confectionary or savoury appetizer). Ours included nutella puffs and lemon, lime & butters marshmellows. Interesting take on the original marshmellow, however I could have lived without it, personally. The puffs were average, nothing of note here. The girls did opt for desserts as well. One enjoyed the tasting plate immensely. The other not so much. I made a booking through the festival of food which gave a particular deal which was $31 for bread, Entre, main course and a dessert tasting plate (such good value). We had the one waitress for the night and she was very friendly, asking us with every course whether we were happy with the food and giving a description of each course. I didn't even mention it was my 21st when I booked but sure enough when dessert came out they had a birthday message written for me. The Entre was comprised of three delicious bite sized portions, crocodile chipolata, thornby lamb shoulder and saag aloo. The lamb shoulder was particularly good and just melted in your mouth. Following on from that really all the meat served to us was cooked to perfection, at our table someone had the kangaroo which was done well, a steak was ordered which was asked to be medium well done and came out just as they wanted and the chicken breast did not have a hint of dryness to it.
