I don't want to give all of my secrets away or I may not be able to get an appointment, but this…read morereview is solely for the massage service. I live quite close to Body First, so when Eric R. and I needed massages, we started here. The prices are very reasonable ($1 per minute) and often we get coupons in the mail for 20% off. I go to Tracy, but Eric R. has gone to Mary and Andrew and we were happy with all of the therapists. The beginning of the appointment is a brief consultation with the therapist to let him or her know any issues and focus areas. Then, a comfortable massage experience that flies by. I think given my issues, I find the massage to be mainly therapeutic rather than relaxing, but you can request what you are looking for specifically. I just took advantage of the August special 75 minutes for $60. This is truly a great deal considering I used to live in Vegas and even with 20% off local discounts at the casinos, I often spent more than double for 60 minute massages. I will continue to return as needed and will stay loyal to my therapist. This is easy - the first appointment requires filling out a form but otherwise I just show up a few minutes before my appointment and have never had to wait.

I have lots of knots and tightness in my back and legs due to my military training/working out, and this was just what I needed. She was incredibly knowledgeable and was very receptive to where I told her I needed the most attention. She was not gentle in the best way. She applied a lot of pressure and attention to my knots and muscles and I left feeling so much better. See her if your muscles need some tough love. I will be making another appointment and bought a gift certificate for a friend.

I have no doubt that the medical staff are competent. However, I had an incredibly stressful…read moreexperience trying to find out results of a MRI they ordered. The scans and the radiologist's report were faxed to them the afternoon of the MRI. However, I was not informed of results for 11 days which is an agonizing wait for someone who is a cancer survivor! Fortunately results were fine, but no one should have to wait that long for test results! Trying to communicate with this organization is a pain. Their "patient portal" is a joke. You can't leave messages on the portal. You are told you can text them, but no one ever responded to my texts. You are also told by their voicemail to not leave multiple messages. However, whenever I called trying to find out what was going on, the office staff were polite but kept giving me various excuses that "they got a lot of faxes", or the "hospital doing the MRI didn't send everything" (which they did, twice!), or "the medical records people have to upload the material so the doctor can review it". But 11 days?? Forget it. I will not be returning to Orthopedic and Sports Medicine.

I ended up getting a second opinion because my symptoms were not matching up with what a normal sprain would be. My second opinion proceeded to take one look at my scans and see that I actually had a non-displaced distal fibula fracture. Definitely NOT a sprain. The staff was kind but I would not recommend going here after something like that was missed for me.

The K-State Recreation Center is a beautiful complex on the northwest side of campus. It has…read moreparking reserved at all times for any KSU permit holder except on football game days when those spots are rented out. The Rec Center has its share of weight and cardio machines, free weights, nice locker rooms, and dual entrances. It also has a combatives room, four studios for classes, a private gym for personal training, a rock climbing wall, outdoor equipment rental, a challenge course for leadership development and group bonding, a smoothie cafe, 2 tracks, plenty of courts - pretty much anything one needs to work out. I have been trying out the different classes, getting a feel for the different offerings. Everyone teaching courses is certified in the course area. There are courses focusing on mind & body, cycling, aerobics, cardio, abs - so many options. There are even aquatics-based courses. However, to be a member of the gym for non-students costs one amount, but joining the natatorium has another fee. I have the gym-only membership. Thus far, I have taken all-levels yoga, yogalates, PiYo, and Zumba. The classes are all challenging and intense, and garner a good amount of attendees regardless of the day of the week. There are even classes on weekends. I plan to try as many as I can to vary my work out. To bring a guest only costs $5, so I can have Eric R. join me when he wants to use the gym instead of the local trails. The hours are really good as the center is open most of the day every day.

The inconsiderate nature of the students is overwhelming at times. This campus caters to your…read moretypical 18-21 age range of students for sure. There are non-traditional students that pay the same fees and attend the same classes; however, it would be hard to tell. The campus is all about this "family" that is wildcats. That "family," can leave you feeling left out and uncared for as a student if you were not raised within a 5-100 mile radius of Manhattan, KS. This campus is swimming with students that have yet to nor will they ever experience what the real world is like. There is a lack of culture and diversity in this small, western, Middle-America town. Some of us do not bleed purple, as a result, will be left on the outskirts of what feels like a neighborhood bonfire that you were not invited to. That being said, there is nothing that can be done about inconsiderate youth here. The real tangible things that can be changed, never will. This university uses its finances to build/purchase/change unnecessary things. What was wrong with the student union? Why would you eliminate study space? The Student Union was perfectly fine and there were plenty of places to study, with tables. Now, this "fancy" Student Union is filled with chairs and what feels like four tables. Where can I spread out my notes and books in order to study? Am I supposed to study in my own lap? Inconvenient to say the least. Fix Willard Hall. That building is a mess. The bathrooms are disgusting and in need of renovation. That is where the monetary resources should have been allocated, that and parking. Another real tangible change, that will never happen, more parking lots being built. As a student that drives 30 minutes one way, I have to fight to find parking. I pay well over $100 and still find myself having to pull a parking ticket because the parking lots are either full or the parking garage is full. Not everyone has the luxury of walking from their home to campus. Parking is beyond frustrating. The ratio of parking per permit type is not accurate. This campus should have built another parking garage or another parking lot instead of building another unnecessary sidewalk. BUILD ANOTHER PARKING GARAGE OR PARKING LOT KSU! Last thing, the library. The library is absolute breath taking and is a pure gem on this campus. The library usually has enough space to hold everyone and houses plenty of study space. That being said, the library is a library. Why should any talking at a normal decibel be allowed. A library is not a "chill spot to hang, fam." The library is and should be a place for scholarly activities. The Student Union is the perfect place to talk. Talk at the union not the library. The whole library should consist of quiet zones, not just one floor that fills up in minutes. The only reason that this campus gets two stars is because some of the professors are excellent. Not all. A large majority of the professors, while not usually approachable, have a clear cut passion for the subject matter and teach in a passionate way.
