I have been going to Maximum Performance for over a year. In addition I work out with my trainer every week for two visits. The facility is excellent. I enjoy the small intimate environment . Unlike a very big gym, Maximum offers the same equipment on a smaller scale. The gym is not overcrowded and the trainers and owner are friendly (and patient with this senior client.) She is so knowledgeable, patient, extremely kind and more. I am please with her workouts and her knowledge about body types and various workouts. This gym is incredible. They have lots of different equipment to work your entire body. Will ,the owner and trainer is a machine ( he practices what he preaches) and knows how to work with you to get the maximum performance from you. He will guide you with nutrition whether you are a vegan, vegetarian , or a carnivore. Even better than the usual trainer Will is great with deeper issues you may be having. I am his second heart patient that he has turned around. I had a congenital heart issue and open heart surgery and despite repeated attempts from other luxury gyms and trainers nobody else was able to get me back in shape. I felt hopeless and was very sick. Then I hired Will! I understand he has worked with other customers with heart issues and other medical issues. Very few trainers if any are able to turn medically ill people into a healthy state. He is patient, and understanding with what you may be going through. If you are motivated and willing better than any other trainer I believe he will get you through it. He is reasonably priced and will work with you. He has a high moral and is honest. I currently use him four days a week and I also do some Zoom video trainings to double the impact. Will is literally the most physically strong man I know and it goes to show you how to keep your body together is so important. I think he is close to 60years old and looks maybe 45. Do not waste your money anywhere else especially on personal training . This place is the only place. read more

After not working out for 5+ years, the thought of finding a gym was overwhelming. I knew I didn't want a big chain based on my past experience at Equinox, but I needed a personal trainer. I'm so grateful I found Will and Max Performance! It's a small gym that specializes in individual training. Will, the owner, initially met with me to get a sense of what I was looking for, and from there, he assigned me to one of his trainers. Over the months, I've worked out with and observed many of the trainers, and they are all great. Most of my sessions are early in the morning, but I've popped into the gym mid-day and on the weekends, and while there are busier times than others, it's never overcrowded, and all the people are friendly and welcoming. If you're looking for a gym to work with a personal trainer that's clean and drama-free, this is the best place in the neighborhood! read more

I've been going to Maximum Performance for about 4 years (maybe more) with my trainer Mario. Good size, great equipment and typically not super crowded. I saw a review from a few days ago about an aggressive trainer, I go at 6am so I don't see everything but honestly I've never had any encounter with anyone who is a bully, intimidating, etc. The customer mix is pretty varied with both males and females, older adults, kids, etc, it's not an environment with a bunch of "meatheads" (no offense to meatheads lol). Will the owner is pretty on top of things if there is an aggressive trainer I don't think he'll let them continue. Just giving my two cents, I love the place. read more

Easily one of the best training gyms in the valley . I was introduced to this place and found one of the best trainers John who has not only got me into shape , but put me in the best physical health position I can be in . One of the best things about this specific spot is the trainers . Everyone from John ( my trainer ) to Will who is amazing to quite a few others . They are all extremely friendly and are willing to give tips to make you better . The gym itself is wonderful . Everything from a treadmill , trx, weights , indoor turf, and much more . You can get more than just a workout at this location especially if you hire one of the trainers to put you to work. This company steals your money. Even though they are closed, they are still charging. After a number of calls, emails, requests and promises for cancelation and refund, they are still charging me more than a year after my initial request to cancel. This is even after speaking to the owner of the company. Avoid at all costs, because if you want to cancel, the only option is reporting this fraud to the bank. read more

Not a safe training environment. There is a trainer there who went ballistic on my husband because he asked him kindly to turn down the music. He gets in my husband's face and screams obscenities at him, spitting in his eyes and giving him an eye infection. Because the gym owners allow such disrespectful behavior, we have to find another gym to go to. It's too bad we have been going there for years now have to leave because of a new trainer bullying clients there. My husband is also a veteran who gets physical therapy there, which is even more appalling that this trainer was allowed to disrespect my husband in this manner. If you want to stay safe and have a peaceful work out, do yourself a favor and do not train at this gym. It's also sad because there are other wonderful trainers/therapists at this gym now we have to make other arrangements just to see them. read more

She is knowledgeable, enthusiastic, supportive, encouraging, and has helped me over the last few years to regain my strength and self confidence. This is a brand new gym for people who want top quality personal training. The gym has everything including TRX stations, free weights, cardio equipment, machines and a turf area. It's sparkling clean with lockers and plenty of room to move around. I have been working out with Will James, the owner, for many years and he is an excellent trainer - focused, creative, smart and very knowledgeable. Will trains everyone from older clients to athletic teens to people trying to reach a goal (like weight loss or training for a race). As a competitive powerlifter, this place is my heaven! I was invited by Alejandro to come check the place out as it's brand new! It's located on Ventura Blvd with it's own lot in the back so parking has never been an issue. It gives me a great opportunity to get a quick headstart on my training during my lunch break when I need it & it's exactly what this end of the valley needs. It has cardio equipment (rowers, treadmills, ellipticals, stairmaster, etc) as well as three Rogue squat racks that are optimal for both squatting and bench pressing (they have the competitive height flat benches that can very easily be moved to wherever you need) and built in pull up bars. They also have rubber dumbbells, kettlebells, all the specialty bars you need, plus a turf with a prowler/sled & mats to stretch on & another rig set up with TRX straps for those who like to do rows & such off rigs. They have a ton of bands for stretching, too! Normally I commute all the way to Westlake Village after work so Maximum Performance has definitely saved me a bunch of time. But, above all else, they have extremely friendly staff - I even got my mom to train in there & she was astounded by how much help she was getting from Kimia, Alejandro AND Will....all at once! Seriously, this is my favorite training location in the valley now; essentially a one-stop shop for both lifters & cardio bunnies! :) read more

This is a wonderful new gym. It has a great range of equipment for whatever you want to work on. It is spacious and the locker rooms are nice. The trainers are all very experienced and very knowledgeable. I've been working with Will James and followed him here when he opened it. He's helped me tremendously with a lot of muscle imbalance and strength training. He's been very creative at adapting exercises to suit my issues. He is also working with my two boys, who are football players. He worked with them in the off-season to stay in shape, as well as making them stronger where they were weak so they didn't get injured for the first time in several years. I never worked out at a gym until I met Will James, one of the 3 owner/trainers at Max Performance. I had concerns that training was only for young, hard-body, in-shape denizens of the gym - none of which described me. What I found is that the trainers of Max Performance work with people of all ages, body types and conditioning. What has impressed me most in my work with Will, and in overhearing Adam and Alejandro with their clients, is that they have much in common. They care about how you're doing, and each visit to the gym is designed for your condition, mental and physical, at that time. Going to the gym is not the easiest thing to make myself do. It's only the relationship with my trainer, knowing that he will be sensitive to how I feel that day, his humor and his investment in having me reach my maximum performance that day make me go.
