I'm in the entertainment business and have done thousands of photo shoots, but there was just something about Maxine's photos that made me want her to be the one to shoot my daughter. Once I contacted her, she was quick to respond, knew her stuff and really put me at ease. I really wish I would have known about Maxine when my son was born 2 years ago. I'm just so thankful that I found her for my daughter. We planned for her photo shoot to happen when she was 5 days old. It was perfect! At that point, my baby just wanted to sleep all the time (which is what you want!) and she was still in that jello stage. She has everything you need (diapers, wipes & a changing table anyone?!) and then tells you to sit back and relax while she takes over. She was so great with my baby girl, holding her close and talking to her when she was moving her around or trying to position her a certain way. I was lucky enough to be able to accompany my daughter and her new baby to the studio--not only is Maxine is a gifted photographer and knows how to make you feel at ease and comfortable the minute you meet her, she is very accommodating to all the needs of a nursing mother who just gave birth less than a week before! She becomes you new wonderful friend during the 3-hour photo shoot (and beyond--I hope!). The experience of bringing a new baby to Maxine would be a very rewarding one--even if she weren't taking photos. She takes such care when handling your baby, has such warmth in her hands as she handles your baby, and takes all the time she needs to get the baby to be positioned in the way she feels would make the best shots. Her studio is very warm and comfortable. If the newborn messes, it does not bother her in the least. She so patient and calm if the baby gets fussy and/or needs to eat. (She knows that's what babies do.) My daughter and I watched as she placed all the blankies, hats, head bands, etc. needed on the baby to make her look soooo precious in all the photos. And she even let us look at some of the digital pics as she was taking them! Of course, all the pictures turned out so beautiful--which makes it very difficult not to pick all of them. I had Maxine take my senior photos last fall, and they turned out better than I could have ever imagined. Maxine has an incredible ability to pick spots for photos. She is always finding places with unique backgrounds and gorgeous lighting that capture the model splendidly. Every shot she took was so unique and so beautiful. She truly creates exquisite, one of a kind photos. She is also an excellent equine photographer. She took some incredible shots of my horse and I (a horse that can be quite difficult when he wants to be). She kept his attention the entire time, catching him with his ears perked and eyes focused. I was so impressed! Beyond her incredible artistic abilities, Maxine is one of the warmest people I know. She is always very professional, but goes above and beyond to make the client feel comfortable and like an old friend. She is very personable, and makes the experience very enjoyable. Despite getting in contact with Maxine towards the end of my pregnancy, she accommodated my newborn session. I really loved the look of her newborn photos on her website, and I just couldn't wait to deliver. Towards the end of my pregnancy, I experienced some unexpected news and Maxine was warm and calm. Unfortunately, she suffered an injury around the same time. I was given three options to choose from, and I knew canceling was not an option. Maxine went above and beyond for my newborn session. She contacted another photographer to come to her studio to shoot the session, and she was able to have my baby come in just before the 10 day mark. The studio was warm and inviting. Emphasis on warm since it comforts the baby. Funny enough is that I dozed off on her comfortable couch. Despite only working with one arm, the whole process was seamless and comfortable, not only for baby, but for the parents as well. You can tell she loves what she does and you just can't help but fall in love with her personality. My wife and I had our daughter, Ella, photographed by Maxine in her Agoura Hills studio less than a week ago. To say that our experience was exceptional would be an understatement. We did a session with Maxine and couldn't be happier! Throughout the entire process Maxine was thoughtful, enthusiastic, and gracious, even though our little guy decided to poop on her changing table. I guess shooting as many newborns as she does, it's beyond phasing her at this point in her career. At the shoot she was funny, gentile, and friendly as she handled our son and moved him in and out of outfits and settings. Coordinating the shoot was simple and easy as was the delivery of the selects and final images. Her studio is OCD-level clean (I mean that in a good way), her couch is super comfortable, and she's got an array of snack and drinks available for parents. If you decide to shoot with Maxine, you'll be delighted with the process and the result. She's the greatest. If we decide to ever get more professional photos done, we'll be going straight back to her without hesitation. This was the best baby gift ever! My family arranged a photo session with Maxine. She contacted me right away and kept in touch with me as we awaited the arrival of my baby girl. We went to her studio in Agoura Hills when my baby was just six days old! My baby was really fussy for the first hour, but Maxine didn't give up on her and even managed to get the most beautiful pictures. Maxine is one of the best photographer's I've ever met. My husband and I had looked into diffrent photograpers and their reviews. Maxine by far had the best reviews. Not only did we feel her warmth and sincerity. She welcomed our babyboy who was just under a month old with opened arms. Our son had undergone heart surgery only a few days after being born. Spectacular photos, surpassed only by Maxine's professionalism and friendliness. We were in a crunch to book newborn photos as Baby Bryce came early and we hadn't yet booked a photographer. We also debated spending a substantial amount on the photos as every photographer we were looking at was not worth the investment (in our opinion) - until we saw Maxine's website. We called her immediately and she was able to accommodate us the next day. She was so friendly and her studio was amazing. Warm, clean and beautiful. We were happy but Baby Bryce was not - he definitely gave Maxine a run for her money, but she impressed us with her handling of our very feisty and fussy baby. I can't recommend her enough. We researched and chose Maxine long before our little girl arrived. Things didn't quite go as planned during birth and we unfortunately spent some time in the NICU before we finally got to bring her home. Although we had to cancel our initial scheduled photo shoot, Maxine went out of her way to make sure we were able to bring her in before 10 days for the newborn shoot. She did a fantastic job; it was everything we could have hoped for as far as the quality and artistry of the photos. Maxine Evans is the best photographer in town. I drove from Hollywood to Agoura Hills for the photo shoot of my 3 month old. The studio was gorgeous and Maxine had the prettiest things available for my princess! As a result of the long drive, the princess was very cranky but despite the situation Maxine took gorgeous pictures in gorgeous poses. She was gentle and so friendly, she genuinely wants you to have beautiful pictures and she'll work her butt off until she captures that smile!! I flew in from Hawaii to have Maxine do my daughter's one year portraits, and they turned out BEAUTIFULLY! Maxine really has an eye for setting up great shots and the talent to capture them perfectly! Her studio is gorgeous and is set up so nicely. We booked a last minute session for our 13 day old and Maxine couldn't have been more helpful. The online booking process was very convenient and communication was prompt and very professional.
