We were here for a family photo and most people seemed fine with the shoot so I can't give them a straight 0. I guess Yelp is stopping me anyway. The staff were great the day of the shoot. However we took multiple shots and after processing, people looked ridiculous. I understand that I'm not photogenic but they literally photoshopped my face differently in each picture. Not exaggerating I look like a new species of alien in 10-15 pictures of the entire set. The rest of my family looks fine so I doubt they care much but these photos were entirely unusable. I would rather look ugly but human instead of like I'm in a rotating sideshow mirror from a traveling circus. I don't understand how someone looked at my face and decided "anything but the original is better" every time they looked at a new photo but didn't keep the photoshop (which took months) consistent. I have since used my own warped face as memes and my own sticker set. It's comical. They insisted they would do a good job of inserting the people who were absent into the photos. Everyone has different shapes and sizes. Hire someone with actual experience. I feel like they should give us a refund with interest. Then again, the pictures are hilarious so maybe I'm paying for entertainment and not actual photos. read more

It's going to be 2 years since I've been married, Howe we've to receive anything we paid thousands of dollars for. My husband and I completed 2 out of the 3 albums in April 2020, months went by without a response. Then, I inquired about the enlarged photo and still no response. I've been sending emails every so often and haven't received a response. Last week I decided to call and speak to someone. Come to find out that our albums were never sent for edit! How is this possible when we selected the photos in April 2020 and it's now May 2021! The service at the wedding was good, but the customer service after the wedding is unacceptable. Max Photo is the absolute best! My husband and I booked Max Photo NY for our wedding that took place in July 2022. During our initial meeting, Yvonne was so helpful and very informative. She answered all of our questions and also tailored our photography and videography package to meet our needs. Yvonne kept in contact with me on a bi weekly basis, providing me with information and necessary details. The week before our wedding, we met with Yvonne to finalize all of the details and she definitely made us feel at ease. On our wedding day and reception day, the photographers and videographers, including Max were absolutely the best. They were so patient and made us laugh the entire time. It was such a great experience. After our wedding, within one month, I received all of our pictures from our wedding & reception and within two months I received our highlight videos and wedding/reception full videos. Yvonne and her team were amazing for our wedding and planning in 2022. The photos were great, with a lot of different options on what we wanted. We also had outdoor photos done with location of our choice all included in one big package. Our photographers and videographers were kind, friendly, on time and would constantly ask us how we're doing, if we needed a break etc. The studio is cute, clean with a decent amount of wedding dresses, suits, traditional qi pao, you can "rent" included in their package. Their seamstresses can do simple modifications and were always very kind to us, even though my Chinese was lacking. My HMUA was also very sweet and clean. She did a great job on me for pictures and also on wedding day. My main review is for Yvonne, a very kind, knowledgeable and resourceful person to help me through the months of wedding planning. She always made us feel welcome and calm, because trust me, wedding planning is stressful . She responds fastest on WeChat. Overall she was very organized and accommodating. Our photo albums came out beautifully and we even got some large canvas pics too. The entire team's dedication to making a successful FJ wedding was really priceless. Max Photo NY is Bad News. They are great if you agree that they have done everything 100% right and have no complaints otherwise buyer beware!!! Max Photo NY is in default of a "Summary Judgment" in a court order by a judge to pay us back money from Our Wedding Day Disaster. The company agreed to abide by the final decision yet lied to Judge's face under Oath! We are taking them back to court a second time for making false bogus charges against our credit cards trying to illegal take more money as a "Fraud" and that will then be heard by another judge. They have refused to pay and now we must execute a warrant with the Sheriff's Department to serve them this judgment. It's a disgrace when a company that is run by Asians use their immigration status and language barrier as a way to manipulate and take money from innocent victims. Funny they spoke perfect English and their contract was in complete English when they took our money (hard earned money). In my opinion this company is made up of narcissist and pathological liars, who will say anything to get their way!! I waited for a year already and still haven't received my wedding album. When I asked for my wedding album, they just said they're working on it and declined to show me the digital version. When I asked them for the product again, they just asked for more and more money. I still haven't received my product after a year and I've already paid in full. Max is such a nice person my husband and I uber ride dropped us off at the wrong location. we called max to let him know we are running late and had to request another Uber he told us don't he will come pick us up. We paid for only 5-6 photos he was so sweet and took about 20 photos for us. Our photos came out so amazing it was our first photoshoot and he made it such an amazing experience for us we highly recommend him for all your photos we for sure will be using him as a photographer from now on. I have been trying to get a refund for an event that I scheduled in late April which I had to cancel given COVID and they have still not issued a refund and said they would not be able to. They said they can only offer a store credit. How does that even make sense? Its a photography service -its not like they are the caterers who would have to buy supplies for an event. Please don't use this company disregard the other reviews the photographer they used to take my wedding pictures is horrible and the manager offered no solution to resolve the problem. We had a two day wedding (Hindu ceremony / reception one day and an American reception the other) and used Max Photo on both days (one photographer and one videographer). Both gentlemen were professional, punctual and efficient. They gave clear directions, listened to exactly what we wanted (what types of pictures and where) and they didn't waste time. We were able to get all the pictures and videos we wanted without spending much time away from the party. I can't stress this enough, Max Photo is efficient, competent, and professional. This place is TERRIBLE and UNPROFESSIONAL. I had been communicating with a staff member named May, and was very excited about my baby girl's 3 month old photo shoot. We arrived promptly at the scheduled time, and waited for almost an hour for a photographer to show up. I had woken my baby girl up from her nap, and prepped for days in advance with outfits and props only to be stood up by their unreliable staff. May was rude and unapologetic the whole situation. I was a guest at a wedding at which MaxPhoto NY was handling the photography services. It wasn't even my wedding, but I was so impressed by what they were doing that I had to seek out the name of this photography company just to be able to give it a deserved glowing review. The quality of the pictures were amazing. These photographers pull out all the stops. They are everywhere, like a well oiled machine, capturing everything you wouldn't even notice. They have the most advanced equipment I've ever seen. If you have a camera company coming with a few DSLRs, they are light years behind MaxPhoto NY. This company has drones flying around capturing pictures. The best part was the same day edit they put together and presented at the reception. This piece alone was better than 95% of the movies I see in theaters. If you gave me all the raw content and 3 months to do it, I still wouldn't have been able to put something together even half as impactful and qualitative as what they did, and they did it in likely an hour. My mind was blown when I saw that piece and let the idea sink in that they put it together during the wedding ceremony. Amazing! Cat was very helpful. I had not gone gown shopping in a long time but it didn't feel at all like a business transaction like it had in the past. She was so welcoming and kind. My mother is handicapped and she even cleared the snow in front of the boutique so that we would have a close parking spot. The dresses she pulled were great and she gave honest feedback on all of them. I will be getting married in a court this year and again at a destination wedding next year and she was able to find me two dresses. I found a court dress that was stunning and for an unbelievable price. I couldn't decide between two dresses for my destination wedding but she told me to go home and think about it and I now know what I'll be walking down the aisle in the second time around! She takes her time with you to make sure she has the perfect look and you can tell that its something she is really passionate about. She was so nice and even allowed me to take pictures. You get the attention you need and she gives you honest feedback because she really wants you to go home happy and not just buy a dress.
