My family has been working with Natasha from Nidji Photography for the past eleven years. From my niece's wedding eleven years ago, to several other family parties, family portrait sessions, anniversaries, professional headshots and birthday parties throughout the years. And occasionally when she is unavailable, we have also had the opportunity to work with other photography companies. Comparatively speaking, no other photographer will take the time to individually position and pose every single guest and/or family member during family portraits. Most photographers will simply say "ok, look at the camera" and that's it, without any regard to how they actually look. Ties disheveled, food in teeth, subjects looking in different directions etc, Natasha is the only photographer I've seen who actually takes the time to correct these errors beforehand. No other photographer will work for FREE just because they love their job! Yes, she photographs TWO FREE weddings every year! Natasha has good reviews before 2020, I get it. I think she's a nice person but we've had a terrible experience. She shot our wedding in Oct 2023 and we still do not have our full set of photos processed and completed - after 10 months. She's been a very poor communicator throughout and has now completely stopped communicating (even though she opens our emails and read our whatsapp messages). We've reached out to her dozens of times over the months, and she's either not responded or made empty promises. At this point we have no choice but to take action and try to get our money back, and warn others about our experience with her. Writing a bad review is not what I want to do but I would not wish this experience on anyone. A few months delay is one thing, but if you ever want to get what you expect from a photographer, I would look elsewhere. Natasha will do anything for the perfect shot. She got in a canoe (and made us get in a canoe in our wedding outfits!) to get the most beautiful shots in the middle of a lake. I've known Natasha for a long​ time and I have always been fond of the work she has done. So when it came time for my marriage the only thing I asked my fiancé at the time was to let me pick the photographer. Shortly after I reached out to Zahra( Natasha younger sister) for her inquiry, I got a call that same week. And in no time I received my contract via email and everything was good to go. Natasha Singh ROCKS. When my husband and I met Natasha for the first time, we felt as if we had met a long lost friend. I can't stress how important it is to like more than just the quality of the product that your wedding vendors provide, but also like the wedding vendor herself/himself - especially your wedding photographer who will be with you through all the excitement, inevitable stress, and happiness of the day. Natasha is the kind of person who puts the mind at ease - she doesn't add to the stress of a wedding, but instead actually diffused it for me. Her bubbly and genuinely caring personality is a rare find, if you asked me. Couple that with the quality of Natasha's photos and I would say she'd go unmatched in the industry. During our engagement photo shoot (which Natasha does to get a couple comfortable with being photographed by her in advance of the wedding), there were so many laughs which made for heartwarming shots, and there were also photographs which only someone with vision could capture. Natasha turned a small pond into what appeared to be a great lake with the angles and lenses that she used. She also wasn't afraid to do anything to get the perfect shot. We were out at Jamaica Bay in a swampy area and a giant centipede nearly crawled up Natasha's face. There were some screams and giggles, but Natasha carried on doing what she loves. Natasha and I met in advance right before our wedding to discuss all the details and review a questionnaire she distributes to all her clients so they can indicate what's important, what family sensitivities might exist, etc. She really goes the extra mile and it totally shows once you receive the final product! For our Hindu wedding, every single detail was captured in the most natural element, every step in the rituals so poetically documented through Natasha's photos - including my tearful eyes. For our reception, the photos were romantic but also so much fun and spontaneous-looking! Natasha stayed even as most of the guests had left - ensuring that she captured the most hilarious and action-packed shots on the dance floor. I first met Natasha as she was the photographer for my sister in laws wedding. After seeing the amazing pictures Natasha took, I knew I wanted her as my wedding photographer! She was the first vendor I booked. I knew Natasha would be the perfect person to cover my wedding. She is an amazing photographer and takes breath taking pictures. Photography is not just her job but her passion, and that is what makes her stand out from the rest. You can feel her energy and how excited she is when she is getting the perfect shot. Natasha has a very down to earth, approachable, friendly and hilarious personality. She makes you fee like you are hanging out with one of your friends, which helped me to be more relaxed during our photo shoots ( I am super awkward in front of the camera). There are no pictures of me holding my bouquet. There are no pictures of my dress before I had put it on. There are no pictures of my family awaiting my fiancé's family, even though they remember posing for them (amongst others that she did not include in my final set). There are no pictures on stage of my immediate family with my father's eyes OPENED. Simple, basic, IMPORTANT shots like these were not included. Instead I received about fifteen repeated pictures of my table settings. Again, amateur photography at best, which is exactly NOT the quality of work we agreed upon or paid for. When meeting her to sign the contract she insisted that she would "do anything to get the best shot possible, even if it meant pushing guests out of the way." We took this to mean she would maintain a stern yet professional demeanor, and yet my guests complained about her terrible attitude all night. Upon receiving my photos, I had asked for these missing items to be included and she did a very scant job of them -- a lot of cropping and poor editing techniques I could have easily done myself. Also, she took a picture of my dress wrinkled and hanging on a Macy's hanger she assured she would photoshop the label out of. Another issue I had was that in the pictures our guests took of us, it looked as if one of my teeth were missing due to my lipstick color or placement, and so I asked Natasha to please look out for this and maybe photoshop my tooth in. I also happened to have fallen asleep on my henna hands and so the stain ended up on my face, and although my makeup artist did an amazing job covering it up, she had reminded Natasha to please keep an eye out for this as well. Natasha assured me she would do this and remove any flaws (like my annoying baby hairs) from the final set. Needless to say, this was not done. Natasha had contacted me a month after my party to tell me she had outsourced my photos to a different company to fix my tooth issue and that she would receive them that week and I would have my final set earlier than agreed upon (one month after the party versus the three months listed on our contract.) This was absolutely not true. I contacted her a week later after she told me this to see where my pictures were, and it was the same nonsense all over again. She would not return my calls, emails, or texts, nor those of my fiancé or sister. For two months, we tried and tried and tried and received no response. We also wrote on her Facebook page, only to see the post deleted shortly after. I understand such a large number of pictures take a long time to edit and organize, but why then would she tell me they were ready if they weren't? Why not respond to me? There was a terrible lack of communication from the start. What about the privacy she had been so assuring about? If my pictures were supposedly outsourced, God knows who was looking at them and editing them. The exact reason I had hired her for had all been for nothing. During her two-month disappearance, I happened to google "nidjiphotography zenfolio" and came across photos of other hijabi brides in albums labeled as "private" but were very much public, and they included photos of the brides without their headscarves on. I knew some of the guests at both of these weddings and so I asked for the brides' information to let them know that their photos were all public. They, too, had the same complaints I had about Natasha not responding to them and breeching their contract, and only hearing from her after they threatened her with legal proceedings. They reached out to Natasha who IMMEDIATELY got back to them, so I knew she purposely was not answering my phone calls, emails, or texts. Again, I understand these things take time but what I didn't get was why I was being treated this way as a client. I did some more research and found a complaint about her on the Better Business Bureau's website. I contacted the first bride who gave me good feedback on her who also told me she breeched her contract. If I had known all of this beforehand, I definitely would NOT have hired her. That is why I've chosen to write this lengthy, detailed review. Natasha should know better than to leave clients this unhappy when she is involved in a business that relies so heavily on word of mouth. I had contacted a lawyer about what to do and after taking her advice, I contacted Natasha one last time threatening legal proceedings if she were to continue not contacting me and breeching her contract. The day of our deadline, a day after I sent my last email after taking legal advice, she responded with my pictures. There was no apology, only an offer for a complimentary photo album I surely was NOT going to take her up on. I would probably have to wait a year for it to be completed and in my hands, and only after having to fight with her the entire time. As an overwhelmed bride on her wedding weekend, I could not have been more thankful to have Natasha by my side! I had been browsing for a while and seen many of the over-posed, over-edited shots that made me and my camera-shy husband cringe. Instead of being phased by the chaotic series of events that happen at most South Asian weddings, Natasha was there in the middle of the madness capturing it all. Even after the reception was over, she still had the energy and enthusiasm to get a few final shots. In every way, Natasha went above and beyond to make the whole weekend the experience of a lifetime! When we received our photos after a very busy wedding season, it was definitely worth the wait! I hired Natasha for my very intimate wedding that took place in Oyster Bay Cove late last year. I told her beforehand that we only needed her services for 6-8 hours but, our party ran over and Natasha ended up staying an extra two hours. Before she decided to stay, I asked her how much extra she would charge for the two additional hours and Natasha said "Don't worry about it! It's your wedding day...go enjoy yourselves!" From the moment she arrived, she began working! There were pictures in our final set of images that I didn't even know she had taken! She was professional, courteous and I could tell she TRULY loves her job! I can't keep raving over the beautiful pictures she took of my wife and I! To be honest, my wife and I thoroughly researched Natasha's work as well as her online review(s) before even scheduling a meeting. We loved her work so much that despite her single negative review, we decided to contact her to schedule a meeting. This review is long over due. I got to know about natasha through a friend and after seeing her work decided to hire her. One of the best decision I made. She made the whole process so smooth. We hired her to shoot my daughter's first birthday and then later we hired her to cover our family photo shoot. From start to end we didn't have to worry about anything. All the important ceremonies, moments ,family pictures, etc were covered. She showed up on time. In fact stayed an hour extra because our party ran longer. Pictures were delivered on time. For family photo shoot we didn't have any idea about what place to do the shoot. She suggested an awesome place and did a wonderful job.
