What I can get most excited about is being a local to Auburn. Residents passes are an incredible $25 lifetime swipe key. Only if you loose them is it an additional fee. I most certainly believe there is a missed opportunity for visitors to enjoy. Currently if your not a resident no access to permitted. Let's just say I had a bit of an in to utilize with no residency and leave it at that. I told you this would be short and sweet. If your a resident of Auburn get your swipe card and enjoy all there is to offer by your city recreation center.

An absolutely beautiful location…read more I have been to numerous MWR sites over the past 45 years and this is by far the worse. Driving onto the property one can see the neglect. The road is in rough condition. Public areas while generous are in the same run down-shape. Even the floaters at the beach are sinking. The cabin was dirty, I cannot believe any staff had been thru the property. Blinds broken as were chair and screen on the porch. Nasty rag sitting on toilet. Then there was a civilian truck being worked on in the equipment garage?? Misappropriation? Researching on line initially one site said the property was closed until 4/1. I could go on...to what point? Believe that chain of command shown on the office wall needs to make a visit!!

And yes, we were just there for the playground. Dada took a guess and the playgrounds were empty- everyone else was still eating. Plus, it was barely playground weather, but you take what you can get in November in Ohio. Baby K loved it: there are several slides, and some climbing areas, including a climbing wall. Off to the side there is a hockey-themed climbing area for bigger kids, and a workout area for adults with a grownup-style climbing wall. There's a shelter nearby, and benches, and the whole park is nicely laid out. We'll be back.

It looked ok at first glance from the parking lot, but as we go to the play structures we quickly realized the structures were not safe. Several areas on multiple structures were broken and could easily hurt a child. The entire play area needs to be shut down and completely updated. Also, there are. O trash cans close to the play structures so there is trash everywhere. Super disappointed.

We arrived at 6:30pm, which was after dark, and were told we couldn't camp because he had locked the gate. It would have been helpful if he had told me on the phone not to bother coming if we were going to be there 30 minutes after dark instead of saying "try to be here before dark". Jackson Lake Island is amazing, especially if you are a fan of Tim Burton's Big Fish…read more You enter through a gate, and there is an entire process for paying and then obtaining the gate code. Luckily, we paid, and were then calling the phone number to get the code, when someone who was camping pulled up behind us and put the code in for us. The small road bridge leading from the main land to the island was a little scary for me. Good thing there wasn't a car coming the other way, or I would have freaked out even more. This land is wonderful. I could see the appeal to kayak, fish, or have a picnic here, or even camp here. We stopped at the bathrooms first, and they are clean and provide running water. On our drive to the town of Spectre, we ran into the goats. We were driving down the road and all of the goats were coming at us. We put the car in park and enjoyed the goats. One goat even jumped up on my door to say hello. They are fabulous and very friendly. When we exited the vehicle at the Spectre movie set, a super friendly goat was charging at me, I immediately went into the car and the goat approached my boyfriend. All the goat wanted was some pets. And that's what he got. They are like large dogs. There are swing benches around the lake and it is nice to sit and enjoy the scenery. Watch out for goat poop. That is the only bad thing. The goats keep the island well manicured and provide the best entertainment and are adorable.
