I was using this cleaners for a couple of years and thought it was good. Then they lost a very expensive jacket of mine. I went to pick it up and it was not there. Then they said "We will look for it and call you Monday." Monday came and went and nobody called. It was very stressful for me. I went there Wednesday and she said the bar code fell off and they lost it in Napa. I asked why no one called Monday when it was promised. She apologized. Very poor customer service and I still got charged the full price. There was no compensation. I will go somewhere else, now. read more

ZERO stars. Make sure you ASK how much the service will be BEFORE you leave. I left 6 120" table clothes to just be ironed - not cleaned and ironed - just ironed. The value of the table clothes were about 20.00 each at most. When I picked them up, the bill was a whopping ridiculous 188.00. They charged over 32.00 a tablecloth to be ironed. Had I been informed of this beforehand I would have never agreed to it. Something tells me they know this. What's worse is there's still wrinkles in them. Still wrinkles! I left upset and said I'd never come back again - and she said fine. No care at all. There should be a law against this type of willy nilly as they see fit charging. Major rip off. read more

Do not use this cleaners under any circumstances. The store - which used to be the BEST - has been sold. All cleaning is now taken to Napa. Two recent experiences (see photos): 1) they shrunk a brand new polo shirt by about two inches on its very first cleaning. It's now unwearable. 2) I asked them to re-press a jacket that they had messed up and it came back even worse. And they still charged me. I have left my phone number, but nobody has called me back. I have frequently utilized this cleaners for over 20 years and would consider them a five star service. I give them two stars rather than one now because the women running the location are so nice and hospitable. I learned they are no longer locally owned, was purchased by a guy in Napa and the cleaning is done at another location. This week was the second time very recently where I returned time and again to pick up my clothing because they were unable to make the due date that they set. The counter clerks call to follow up and are not given good information on when the items will be ready. There seems to be absolutely no concern by new management that they are creating unhappy long term clients or that the are putting the counter ladies in an uncomfortable position. If they are not fully staffed, if that is the problem then they should change the due date to give themselves more time. It is frustrating to frequent travelers who need dependable service to have clothing for departure dates. Also the clothing does not look very professionally pressed. Bye Bye Maxwell Cleaners! You can do much better. read more

Maxwell does a decent job of cleaning but they are crazy expensive. I'm new to Sonoma so perhaps everyone is this expensive. I recently moved from a beach town in So Cal and expect to pay a 10-15% premium but Maxwell charged me $8.50 for one short-sleeved blouse!!! I looked at their price list which stated it would be $7.50. I asked why $1 more and I was told "we charge an extra $1.00 for silk." I told the lady it wasn't silk, it was rayon. She then said, "oh, yea, more for rayon too." Seriously?? I'm used to paying $2.95 for short sleeve blouses and this is over the top. I'll never go back. read more

I hate to do this but have to.....The girls at the front are great and very friendly, so I thought I had found a good cleaner in Sonoma. Sigh.....no. I paid over $40 to get a down comforter cleaned and they returned it to me 2+ weeks later and it wasn't even cleaned or touched. Totally unacceptable, don't go here. read more

This is the only cleaner I use. When I was in the Navy and needed perfectly pressed uniforms I learned a lot about cleaners and dry cleaning and good service. I really love this place. They have never gotten a thing wrong, have made things happen for me in a very limited time frame and all with a smile. Prices are great! read more

The customer service at this place is horrific. Their system is not computerized and so even though you go there every week you are require to tell them your name and phone number all over again. I am disappointed with the way I was treated because I am frequent costumer I thought I deserve better. I guess they can afford to be mean. Dry cleaners nothing special, OK but not terrific, they left a spot. I want to say about that person who do repair clothes -Diana monster,she is not a person she is terrible dirty spot in the beautiful town Sonoma, she is not a professional in that clothes repair industry , she is just trying to do the job what she have no idea how. She said " I do not have a special machine for this repair but I did as cheapest as I can, not right but cheapest" Outstanding answer.She was extremely unprofessional and rude to me , she damaged my pants and treating me to make me pay for her mistake. My experience wtih Maxwell cleaners was so great I had to review it for others. So we were from out of town & in Sonoma for my brothers wedding & before I left MD I noticed water spots on my ivory and black dress. I was referred here & the lady that greeted me was so kind & knew I was nervous that the water spots & a tiny little spot on the front wouldn't come out. She said she would have her owner look at it and try his best & all will be ok. They did the work within a day and got everything out, the dress didn't shrink & it was pressed & it looked beautiful. Plus they pressed my husbands 2 shirts. They were so kind and helpful and the charge was so reasonable. If you are staying anywhere in the area I whole-heartedly recommend them!
