Food was great! Everyone loved their food! Great service, the waitress even brought something's we forgot out to us! Cute chairs and tables! Even better parking for truck/trailers/boats, etc. WITH a playground right behind the restaurant! The last time I ate here was with Mom when we were in Cuero. Deja vu, huh? Thankfully we made it in time for the lunch specials. We both had the #11, which was cheese enchiladas for $9.99. The posted note at the table was rather deceiving. It stated a savings of 3.99% if paying cash. The cashier debated what the sign said. Could tell I was on the losing end of the argument. Whatever! Overall, the service was mediocre and the food a little above average. (Chips seemed rather hard.) Oh well! At least the restaurant seemed clean and well-maintained. Stopped in for a quick bite and was so impressed! We had the bean and cheese nachos and the special of the month--one beef taco, one cheese enchilada, and guacamole--and everything was delicious. The flavors were spot on, and you could tell the ingredients were fresh. The service was excellent--super friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. I arrived and immediately without hesitation received tortilla chips with two salsitas (red and green) and water. I ordered the carne asada plate that comes with a cheese enchilad, rice and beans and choice of tortillas. The food was good, tortillas were warm and service was excellent. i would go back to this place again. They have my business. read more

Third time here. Three times requested a lime for my husband's tea. The third person finally went to the bar to get I guess, but then my street tacos came out with four on the plate. Service here is not the best. However the second time I ate here was with a big group and service was good. It wA also dinner not lunch. So... Street tacos were good and my husband had La Maya combo which was also good. The taco meat was tasty and all the salad toppings were fresh. Th enchilada was not flat with all the cheese melted out. Guacamole was good and chunky. Salsa is disappointing. I asked for green salsa and the waitress said yes, but she never brought it. We have eaten at Maya several times and the food and drinks have always been excellent. Except for last night, we could not eat the rice. It was cunchy as if it had been made several day earlier and then rehated for serving. When we brought to the attention of our waitress all she said was " Yes, rice is crispie." I was flabbergasted.No offer to replace the rice, nothing. I am hoping that this is just a blip in the service, because this looks to be the best place in town for Mexican food. read more

I have never been crazy impressed with texas Mexican food choices. I was hesitant to try this place, but the pickings were slim and my super great hotel clerk suggested it. I'm so glad he did. It was quiet, unpopulated which I usually kind of chalk up to bad good/service, but this was not the case at all. My cup stayed full, my enchiladas were amazing. I mean MIND BLOWING great. I generally liked the food here. I ordered the #10 and changed the cheese enchilada to a spinach one. Then we ordered the trio dip as an appetizer. Had I realized that the dip came will basically the same filling as the spinach enchilada I would not have done that. The guacamole dip was good, but half of the bowl was full of lettuce at the bottom. The chalupa was really good. The dressed beer was delecious as well. Our server could have been more friendly. The food is great, had the enchiladas verdes with retried beans. Yummmm!! They can get busy and short handed at times but overall it's a great place. It had been awhile since we had been here... if it's been awhile give them another shot. Chips are so good. Delicious! If you're driving through Cuero, this is the place to stop at for good TexMex. I had the Seafood enchiladas with crab and shrimp and lobster with jack cheese and it was so good! Pretty bad. Took the family here after church on Sunday. Not too busy, plenty of wait staff. Had to hunt down our own tea pitcher after several attempts to get refills. Buffet was bland and warm at best, not hot. Food off the menu was there in a decent time, but was generic and warmed over. Won't be going back.
