As a dad who didn't know much when we first reached out to Olivia, (I was truly surprised at how much I didn't know), but that was okay, because Olivia was there to help. My wife gave birth at home with our midwife, and Olivia helped us create our custom birth plan, which she even gave to our provider, and even went over it with her to make sure our midwife knew what we wanted for our birth. My wife was struggling to make it through labor pains, but Olivia was there the whole time to tell her that she was strong enough mentally and physically and encouraged her every step of the way, she helped my wife stay as calm as possible. Olivia also helped me with what to do for my wife during labor and she was able to give me multiple much needed breaks. Basically, Olivia not only helped my wife, she also helped me! We are so blessed to have had her as our doula and will book her again for our future births. Thank you so much again Olivia! The prenatal visits were very valuable to me- to get her advice on my birth plan, soothing massage, practice for labor and guidance for my husband. When it came time for labor, she joined us at home until it was time to go to the hospital. At the time, my hospital only allowed one visitor due to the Omicron COVID variant spike, so I had my husband with me and Dawniel continuously on Zoom. Even virtually, she was an excellent guide and coach for us. She was essential to my empowering birth experience. She is a great listener and has an abundance of experience- both personally and professionally (around pregnancy, birth, lactation, baby care). My husband brought me the broth in the hospital and we joked how it was not "chicken soup". She explained the process to my Mom and did a great job. It has been a month since I gave birth and i have had 3 or 4 blue days. I know it could have been a lot worse and have really been myself. I know the pills have helped me heal quicker and kept the blues away. I will be recommending Jenna to all my friends and will hire her again for the next baby. If you are on the fence about doing this I say Do it, you have nothing to lose and so much more to gain. Jenna is the best at it. She truly bring class and respect to the practice.

I have used Jenna's placenta capsulation services for two of my three children. For my first…read moreencapsulation Jenna had said that she would deliver several types of services (watercolor, placenta broth, encapsulation, umbilical cord dehydration, placenta tincture, and raw placenta smoothie) and all of these would take place in my home. While she did deliver these services within the 72 hour time frame, my initial contact after birthing the placenta was stressful. My husband try to contact her several times via text and phone calls after the birth. It took her 24 hours to get back to me and, of course, had a sad excuse (was at a funeral in Texas). I feel horrible that this was her situation but communication should have been there and letting all of her soon to be expecting mothers know she was going to be out of town. This was extremely frustrating. I decided to give her another shot because I liked all of the services that she offered and it is hard to find someone to do the broth and watercolor. I had to pay in full up front the second time around. I was under the impression that all services would be included (and I did ask her about this and her response was yes). When my husband called her after the birth of this placenta she did answer and say she would come and pick up the placenta. I was a bit weary but she stated the turn around time would be faster. THIS INDEED WAS NOT THE CASE! She said she was going to drop off everything back to my home with 1 1/2 days. My husband contacted her on that day with a late response stating she would deliver the next morning because she had "fires to put out a work". The next morning he tried again with no avail. Finally, in the evening of the next day (she has now had my placenta for almost the full three days) she calls with another sad excuse (her brother in law is in a car accident and she has been busy fielding phone calls). Once again I feel sorry for the incidents in her life, however, WITHOUT PROPER COMMUNICATION, I just feel frustration (which is not something a post partum mom should have to deal with). She did end up delivering SOME items that evening. I received ONLY my placenta pills, broth, and a chunk of raw placenta for the smoothie. I DID NOT RECEIVE the watercolor, umbilical cord or a chunk of placenta for the tincture. All in all, the communication with Jenna is HORRIBLE. This should be a pleasant and easy process. I would not ever use her services again because of these communication frustrations. She also promised to make things right, by giving me a follow up call two weeks post partum. Well that was three weeks ago and I still have yet to hear from her. Once again... BIG FAIL on the communication front. If you want to have a pleasant post partum without the frustrations of placenta encapsulation....do yourself a favor and DO NOT use her services.

As I grew closer to my due date with no labor signs, I began to feel incredibly stressed and inadequate. Luckily, Daron was always there for me. She visited me at my house once, sometimes twice a week and would speak to me and my husband about preparing for the baby. Whenever I had worries, I could text her and she would call me back ASAP with advice/a shoulder to cry on (let's be real, I cried a LOT.) Once I hit 40 weeks, she provided a myriad of resources and ideas for natural induction because she knew how important it was for me to not be chemically induced. When I was 41+1, I went to the hospital for a check up and was told that I needed to induce that day because of my baby's health. Daron got to the hospital very quickly and helped me assess my options. She was so great, that entire day supporting me and my husband despite the fact that my birth plan went out the window. Because of her love and support, I was able to deliver a beautiful baby and would 100% hire her again if I ever have another.

There was an instant connection and calmness that was present while we spoke to her ( & our dogs approved too!). I was being monitored for possible pre-eclampsia which added another level of uncertainty and Daron was an amazing support and resource. I work in the medical field so I understand the risks, but we still felt we needed to listen to my body and honor the gut feelings. Long story short we ended up being admitted to the hospital Sunday night and ended up with a C-section Tuesday morning. Daron was with us the whole time and a huge support. The situation was not ideal but Daron was a patient, supportive calming presence the ENTIRE time. I highly recommend her and would undoubtedly work with her again if the opportunity arises.

I cannot recommend Doula Kate enough!  When planning for the birth of our first baby, my husband…read moreand I hoped to find a doula with whom we felt comfortable and whose confidence would give us strength through the experience.  Kate was all this and so much more.  She provided thorough and meaningful support in the months leading up to our baby's birth through visits, talking us through various anxieties, and connecting us with resources that fit our birth plan and philosophies.  When the unexpected happened (my water broke at 35 weeks), even though she had just attended the birth of another baby hours before, Kate dropped everything to be by our side.  Very little about the birth of our son went according to our plan.  We were required to navigate decisions we had never expected to need to make.  Kate was incredibly instrumental in this process by helping us research these questions  and being a calming, kind, and gracious presence in the room. The labor was long and difficult.  Kate stood next to my husband for hours and hours, reminding me of the techniques we had practiced, helping to relieve pain through positioning and deep breathing, reminding us of our priorities and goals, and supporting my husband as he supported me.  My cousin, an ER nurse who was also in the birth room, told me that after watching Kate assist me through labor, she believes everyone should have a doula! After our son was born, Kate stayed with us to help us navigate our first attempts at breast-feeding and bonding.  She even came back to the hospital the next day to pick up the placenta and bring it to the encapsulator. When we finally were able to bring baby home, Kate made another home visit, bringing food, resources, and a lot of encouragement.  I was especially grateful for her suggestions of people to help us work through residual trauma from the challenges that were part of our baby's birth.  This kind of thoughtfulness and anticipation is simply how she operates.  I am so thankful we had Kate as our doula; hire her!
