One of my favorite things about this area is that you can actually head out toward the sand dunes for some sand dune riding, so you get the best of both worlds in one place. One minute you're enjoying the ocean breeze and soft sand, and the next you're surrounded by the rugged desert landscape. It's such a cool contrast and makes for some seriously beautiful scenery. I also love that Playa Bonita doesn't feel like just another beach stop. There's something peaceful about sitting by the water and looking out toward the dunes -- it's one of those views that really makes you stop for a minute and take it all in. I've been coming to Puerto Peñasco regularly, and I always find myself appreciating the landscape a little more each time. Beach on one side, desert dunes on the other... it's such a uniquely Sonoran experience.

The sandy beach is the cleanest in Mexico, the tides are extreme so the beach and view are ever-changing. The park is large, flat, sandy. No palm trees or green except by the hot tub. It is very well staffed; the same faces every year to help with a problem. Security all night long; we see him walking all night with his flashlight. There is a community-managed 'Social Club' wiht Karaoke, Bing, LRC, Zumba and Line Dance. There is also a nice group of every-speed bicyclists in the winter months. Plus potlucks for special events. Nice Hot tub and showers.laundry. Vendors come through with propane, water, shrimp, breakfast burritos. This is a GREAT place to have work done on your RV! Paint, repairs, upholstery! I'm rating it a 5 because of the cleanliness, safety and location. It is what it is, it is NOT a palm oasis, but it is a well managed park in a great location.

Ten minutes later we were in the water. We had a great time. We got to keep the boards for 24 hours. 50 bucks each. We left them in a convenient place outside without ever bringing them inside. And they picked them up the next day without any help from me. This service was above and beyond. They responded immediately as I texted to arrange payment and logistics along the way. I could not recommend more and have no reason to ever go anywhere else for my sup needs in rocky point. Kudos! You've earned a customer.

Once you're there, you are surrounded by volcanic rock, sand, and mountains and it's very peaceful. The museum shows the geology, history, and native people who have lived in this desert region. This El Picante y Gran Altar Desert is one of the 13 natural wonders of Mexico. Despite a harsh climate, it is full of live with many different types of plants and animals, including saguaro cacti, bobcats and Gila monsters. The museum has lots of displays, a short video (English or Spanish), gift shop, restrooms and cold drinks. The staff are very kind and knowledgeable. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Rocky Point who has an interest in nature, history, or just something off the beaten path.

The crew got us hooked into our safety harnesses and helmets...and away we went. The ride up was fun and the guys literally had us screeching and rolling in laughter. Daniel and Abdiel were fantastic! Couldn't have asked for a better crew on the ziplines. They both had us laughing all while making sure we were all safe. My group and I were staying just down the (dirt) road from the zip lining and at first, having to drive off payment kinda makes you concerned but don't be deterred! You are heading in the right location! Their catch is that they advertise $20 a person but it's easy to not see the "& up". The $20 price zip line is the shortest one! While to do anymore would be $60. So... my friend and I paid the $60 to get more of the experience! Worth the money! We did all 6 lines and it was so fun. We just had a party of 3 with their 2 employees (1 was the owner!). Our personal favorite was when, if we were to get stuck, watching our guide come out to help us. I'll let this continue to intrigue you. This was our first time EVER zip lining experience and it was great! They explained well how to use the tools and what to expect. Pay the money, have the great time, see the views and come back!
