My wife and I were in Savannah TN around lunchtime and we decided on The Spot after reading…read morefavorable reviews online. We were promptly seated and waited on. I had the cheeseburger with the usual trimmings and onion rings. My wife had the cheeseburger with homemade fries. Both burgers were delicious as well as the onion rings and fries. Our waitress was efficient and friendly and answered our questions as this was our first visit. We didn't have a salad but the salad bar looked great. Lots of choices and everything looked fresh. We look forward to trying the salad bar soon. We will definitely be back in the near future.

I do love me a good local Spot, and this is that for sure. This has a very hometown-local-dive kind…read moreof vibe, and that's not at all a bad thing. I feel like this is the place you'd run into someone you know every time, if you were from here or had integrated into the Savannah, TN community (which is nice). Service was friendly and prompt. The food was very mid-caliber for me. I had the pimento cheeseburger, jalapeño poppers, and the salad bar. The salad bar was...well, it's what you'd expect to find - basic "shredduce" with bare minimum topping options, though I was surprised to see some beets (tiny little suckers, though). It was edible and nothing looked as if it'd been neglected, so, solid middle. The jalapeño poppers, while RIPPING hot, were standard frozen meh. The burger didn't do much for me either - the pimento was bland, the patty was bland, but the bun was soft and the meat:bun ratio was good. Overall, fine food and ok value, but I don't think I'll try it again during my few months in the area. The question for a good burger in Savannah continues...

But, the fries were over the top...with Abe's special seasoning on them...amazing! Hope we get in sometime for the breakfast...their biscuits are famously delicious!

For context, I lived in the DMV (DC/Maryland/Virginia area) for 10 years, and I always looked forward to my roadtrips home to NW Mississippi during that time, which often included stops in Corinth, Mississippi, Huntsville, Alabama, and Chattanooga, Tennessee, along the U.S. Route 72 corridor. That's when I first discovered Abe's Grill. Abe's Grill is an institution in this stretch of the South, known for its history, hearty diner food, colorful decor, stool lunch counter, and mom and pop vibes. I've only eaten at Abe's for breakfast, and I was so impressed with the food and customer service that I bought their signature seasoning mix, which I used pretty frequently when I lived in DC. Considering this review is based on a 10-year old photo, I did do some additional research to ensure the restaurant has survived the test of time. The restaurant continues to be extensively covered and recommended by local and regional news media, online food reviewers, bloggers, Visit Mississippi, and the Only In Your State website.
