I took my Schnauzer to Hartman for his entire life. At least 1x per year he'd get some sort of…read moregastrointestinal issue, usually a little blood in the stool. Almost a decade of charted issues and routine check ups. Somehow, his back tooth got bad enough that it got infected. Took him in on a Thursday and the vet prescribed him NSAIDs. Now, at this point, I have no idea. I'm not a vet. I trust the professionals. By Friday night he is puking up blood. Hartman closes at 5pm, this happened literally at 5:15 pm. So I hope for the best and plan on taking him in on Monday. He wound up having to go to the emergency vet because he started wailing in pain toward Sat night. Come to find out, NSAIDs are not good for gastrointestinal sensitive patients and is ultimately what caused his internal bleeding. Why was he prescribed NSAIDs with his charted history. A simple google search of "should you give NSAIDs to someone with GI issues" returns a resounding NO. Yet they did and my dog is no longer here because of it. My GFs dog, who grew up with my Schnauzer, was a long haired Daschund. After he was 10 years old, Hartman said over and over that his teeth were getting bad but at his advanced age, wasn't a good idea to be put under. Fast forward SEVEN years later of this being the same narrative when we would take him in and say "maybe we need to pull some teeth here". Nope, he's too old for that. Well, finally, his teeth abscessed and Hartman finally agreed to put him under and do some surgery. They cleaned his teeth and pulled a few and assured us he should be on the right path. Less than a month later we were back in their office because his mouth was worse. The infection was so bad it had eaten away some of his upper pallet and was rotting through the outside of the skin (see below EDIT: couldn't post due to it being graphic because his little face was THAT BAD). They FINALLY realized they fucked up and referred to us to Memphis to a vet that specializes in dental issues. They were appalled at his condition and could not believe that he had been under the care of a licensed Vet, much less Hartman who they take referrals from all the time. This vet is like a bad PCP. Cookie cutter diagnosis, always by the book even when the patient presents with obvious symptoms, nope, by the book. One dog died due to their negligence and my other dog suffered needlessly for YEARS with infected teeth because the book said it was risky to do a teeth cleaning on a dog that was 10. He lived until 17 AND HAD SURGERY AT HARTMAN at 17 years old. Had they taken his teeth more serious (and shame on me for "trusting" the professionals against my better judgement, a mistake I will not make again) my sweet little guy would have had a much better quality of life in his golden years. **I kept this all to myself for a few years until I realized they are paying to be promoted on Google as a top result. Please take your beloved animals anywhere else**

It didn't work out for they were not as compatible as hoped. The lady there was so nice and helpful in trying to introduce my dog to others and he just showed his ass the whole time. I wished that I could have afforded to make a donation to help support the rescue. I could see this lady really cares about all the cats and dogs and is working hard to try and save their live. So if anyone is looking for a new family member or can donate,I encourage you to consider this rescue. They knew in advance that my dog is a French Bulldog, a breed that is extremely sensitive to heat. The groomer arrived approximately two hours late on a day when it was around 110°F outside. When the van arrived, all of the windows were open, the inside was hot, smelled bad, and was visibly full of dog hair. It did not feel clean or prepared for a grooming appointment. I specifically asked whether the van was air conditioned because I was immediately concerned about putting my Frenchie inside such a hot vehicle. I was told that the generator had only just been started and that it "should be okay." That did not reassure me at all. I was originally quoted $118, which I already felt was very expensive considering my dog does not require a haircut. He simply needed a bath, nail trim, and his glands expressed. I agreed to the price because I assumed I was paying a premium for a convenient, professional mobile service. Once he was inside the van, I was told the appointment could take an hour to an hour and a half, which also seemed excessive for a short-haired French Bulldog. Because of the heat, I was very concerned about him. I texted the groomer asking how he was doing and received no response. I texted again and still received no response. I even went outside and knocked on the van because I was becoming genuinely worried that he could be in distress. No one answered the door. About 45 minutes later, he was brought back inside. I was told he did not like the dryer, so he was not dried, which I was completely fine with. However, the final price was $129 instead of the $118 I had been quoted. The payment screen then only presented tip options of approximately $17, $25, or $35. I ended up tipping $17 even though I did not feel the service warranted a tip. In total, I paid close to $150 for what was essentially a bath, nail trim, and gland expression, while also dealing with a two-hour delay, a hot and dirty van, poor communication, concern for my dog's safety, and a final charge higher than the amount I was quoted. For the price being charged, I expected a clean, climate-controlled van, punctuality, clear communication, transparent pricing, and appropriate precautions for a brachycephalic breed in extreme heat. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. I would not recommend this service, particularly to anyone with a French Bulldog or another heat-sensitive breed.
