Recently had to take our Senior Golden in for a pretty bad ear infection. When I made her appointment to see the Vet., I was given a break down cost of what to expect (I asked for cost estimate). The clinic is Clean and the staff is very capable. We were given an exam room within 5-10 min. Dr. Sara came in to see us. She was very gentle with our girl's tender inflamed ear. She took the time to talk to us, find out what was going on and how she would proceed. A quick Q-tip swab of the ear was taken, and then to the backroom for a culture. Dr Sara came back with results and again explained how she thought we should treat the infection. We were notified that the procedure could take additional treatments to get all of the infection. (inflamed, drainage, smell). While the patient's ear was being cleaned and treated, a vet assistant came back into our exam room and let us know the procedure, and again broke down the cost for our approval. We were on our way home within 30-40 minutes from the start of our appointment. Cost $212 (office visit, cytology, clean & flush ears, EKT with tobramycin, 2 antibiotics to take home: prednisone & ciprofoxacin & annual rabies shot). By the next morning - Our girl was wagging her tail and wanting to play. The drainage and odor was gone and the ear was normal flesh color. I'm Thrilled! We do have to go back for a follow up next week, but I'm told there is no office visit fee, just a quick culture/exam to confirm infection is gone ($35). The staff is very capable. Dr Sara was wonderful with our precious girl. The hours aren't very convenient for people working 8-5, but they do have longer hours (7:30pm) on Tues/Thurs. I think that they discourage 'walk-ins' unless an Emergency. I don't think this is any different from your people doctor's schedule. The scheduled appointments allow control of the wait time, exam rooms and patient care. The price is uncomfortable, but only because it was an unexpected expense on my part. The clinic is closed on Sat/Sun, which means you have to schedule your appointments during the week and schedule around your work hours. This is no different than what I have to do when making appointments for my own medical treatments. We will continue to use Vilonia Animal Clinic as our Primary Medical Facility for our four legged family members. They receive excellent medical treatment there - thank you. read more

the first appointment to diagnose was great. unfortunately, after being told to call back once his antibiotics were finished... they told me the initial vet had retired and a second appointment was needed. Unfortunately what the first doctor said, isn't being held. I was told to call back if the first medicine didn't work and he would provide a prescription. in other words, the receptionist wants me to spent another $150. why did they assign a new patient to someone that retired within days after my appointment? June-Aug 2025 I'll be pulling his records to find a better vet. read more

The staff doesn't really have a attention to detail. I told them to call me on Friday and they called me on Thursday and then said that they tried to reach me and then after I came in and had my dog exam and paid the fee for a consultation fee they basically left me hanging with a pregnant dog and then told me that I need to go find somebody else to do it which is fine but at the same time like I didn't bring my dog there to pay somebody and then have to go to a whole Nother bed so I would just say communication wise. This bed is not very good but at the same time I cannot attest that they have bad services for the actual animal. Love the staff and Doctors. Dr. Chris is one of the few vets in AR that does PennHip evals. If only the clinic was closer, i would be ecstatic. As it is, i traveled one hour each way for PennHip. Even though the results were disappointing, Dr. Chris was a great source of information. Five Stars!!! read more

I received a letter yesterday from this clinic telling me that on numerous occassions I had expressed displeasure with their clinic or health care and that they wanted me to be happy, so they were willing to refer me to another veterinarian that would suit my needs. This information was all news to me and had never knew I felt this way! I called the clinic minutes after I received the letter to try to get clarification and spoke with Chris Gentry, DVM and one of the owners. He could not give me any example of where I displayed this behavior. So I asked if it had to do with a couple of weeks ago I had questioned a charge for a semen collection kit with the Office Manager. When I had spoken with this same manager a week earlier I had never received any info on the total cost of the service I was seeking. I was shocked when I discovered they were charging $170 for a kit I could obtain myself for leas than $50 and to collect and ship semen was over $400. This is a ridiculously inflated cost for this service. I have done this at vets in FL for years before moving here.Turns out the Office Manager was the vet's wife, which I was unaware. It was obvious by her reaction that she did not like my questions. When I spoke to the vet yesterday he said the manager was upset because I accused them of charging incorrectly to my credit card. This was a total fabrication! I told Dr Gentry that I never said that and it never happened because the credit card was not mine but the owner of the dog where the semen was being shipped so she could be bred. I never received a call from them eegarding the incident or about them being able to satisfactorily meet my vet needs. We live in a small town and this is a small town vet, so I would expect to be able discuss what had occurred. It is obvious that they do not want anyone to question anything....they would rather send you elsewhere for your pet needs. Dr Gentry also told me they often used this letter to send to clients who they felt did not mesh with their clinic. The letter they sent me was a form letter and did not even have original signatures. In my opinion the only goal of this clinic is to make money. They claim to be an animal reproduction service, but they have NO Saturday hours. Which also happens to be a disservice to those people who have to work 5 days a week. I would strongly urge anyone considering going to this clinic to look elsewhere. Not only do they overcharge, but their commitment to animal care and welfare is greatly deficient. read more

I am really disappointed in the prices at this Vet office. I brought my cat in just to get her spayed and a couple shots and it cost me over $350. I was not given any prices up front and was told when I picked her up how much it cost. I have had other cats spayed in other clinics and have never spend over $100, so never would have thought it would cost this much. They seemed to be friendly but I think they over charged me for their services and added on extra stuff that was not necessary. read more
