I came to Mayra after a botch work I had done a year ago. My past experience with microblading was horrible, it included a lot of pain because of lack of numbing cream. What was left of the work done is what you see which is just a black smudge and many empty space. Mayra took her time with me! She assessed each eyebrow individually. Drew out the area and her plan of what she planned on doing. Also included the colors she had in mind, everything was very inclusive. The actual process to correct the issues took about an hour and the discomfort was very minimum because of the numbing cream. The atmosphere was comfortable and welcoming. I love Mayra's Art. I was a bit hesitant at first because of their prices ($35 for just brow shaping, not including tip), but I have to say that it's worth every penny. I personally go to the Sunset location inside of Christie Pea Nail Salon & Boutique & get my services done with either Kristyn or Giselle. I remember going to other brow shaping establishments & leave feeling frustrated because my eyebrows would look different from my previous visit, or one would look completely different from the other. Now, I understand that eyebrows are "sisters" not "twins", but they were starting to look more like the "second cousin twice removed". Cue Kristyn & Giselle, who saved my brows & brought them back to life. I've been going diligently to Mayra's Art every three weeks & these ladies never disappoint. They also offer an array of other services like microblading, lash lifts, brow tinting, & makeup. I wouldn't recommend using Mayra's Zen art eyebrows studio... She's consistently late extremely & over priced ...when you make a reservation you have to put a 50 or $100 deposit down in order to save it. The other part of the equation is that when you're checking out after having your eyebrows tattooed for $700 They always push you to give them gratuity which I find very classless. I've been to the studio multiple times, and the aftercare directions that they give you are also inconsistent. Booked an appointment online last minute because my regular go-to eye brow lady had an emergency. I am going to a wedding this weekend, so unfortunately, I could not wait until next week. I had been hearing about Mayra for years, but am happy with the lady I go to, so I never had the need to switch. I used this opportunity to try her out. As I mentioned I booked the time slot online (assuming they actually use their booking system if they have it available to customers) but also texted Mayra letting her know- which she acknowledged. I showed up to my appointment 20 min EARLY, not minding having to wait for my scheduled time. While I was waiting, someone else came in and sat next to me. As soon as this other person arrived, Mayra came out and said hello to her as if she were a personal friend, and then went on to tell me that this woman had texted her last minute so she could no longer do my eye brows and instead passed me on to someone else. She then went on to try to sell me on getting henna... I told her I just needed a clean up (thinking she'd take me since it wasn't a major thing I was asking for) and didn't feel comfortable trying henna which I have never done right before my friends wedding. She continued to insist and then tried to sell me on Microblading. She clearly was not listening to me and just trying to push me into something I didn't want. At the end of the day, the other lady that did my eye brows did a good job (again- I just needed a clean up) but the point is that I had a scheduled appointment with MAYRA and had confirmed it. I made an appointment online through Mayra's art, but the webpage did not confirm which location. I called and the woman who answered said that there is a glitch in the website and no appointment was made. She was helpful in setting up a later appointment at the sunset location. During my Lash Lift, my lash line started burning / stinging. With my eyes closed, I waved around for a while to get someone's attention, but the lady must not have been nearby. When she finally noticed me, she didn't seem to know what to do. I sat there in the chair ( for what must have been over an hour) dealing with the pain to complete the treatment. (I was there for 2 hours) At the end, my lash line was swollen and I was happy to be out of there. The next day, my eyes were scabbed from the chemical burn. My sister decided to do microblading with her OMG BIG mistake!! She claims to be an expert just because she went to a 3 day course a few months back. My sisters eyebrows look like big bold lines over her actual eyebrows. She is mortified that everywhere she goes people notice how bad it looks. Quite possibly the worst brow experience I've ever had. The artist "Ashley" who did my brows completely butchered them. I have thick brows and like to maintain them that way. She got happy with the tweezer after waxing and left me with a gap in my brow that I had to pencil in for months. She then tried to make it better by telling me she'd "tint" them free of charge and that tint was supposed to last 4-6 weeks or until I returned (she really thought I would). Well, guess what? The tint came right off when I showered that evening and there was my gap again. They charge ridiculous prices for doing the same thing any other waxing service does with the exception of putting a warm bag around your neck to try and make it seem over the top. There's nothing special about this place and they are definitely not celebrity eyebrows experts. Save your time and money. read more

This review is a long time coming. I have put up with Mayra for 5 years since she does descent brows. Mayra has jumped around to 4 different spots over 5 years, so you know I am not the only one who can't put up with her shit. Ninety percent of the time she takes me 15-20 minutes late. She offers a descent shape for brows, but you do have to use a filler to cover up her imperfections. As far as a business she is the epitome of what's wrong with Miami businesses. She is rude, she is pushy with product and she is condescending. She has no concept of how to treat loyal customers. Even though she takes me late every time and I have to put up with her mouth I still tip her 20% which puts my total price around $55 a visit. Over the years I have missed two appointments with her. I missed my last appointment with her and she sends one of the most unprofessional texts I have ever received. I feel like when you are buying a service you are not only buying the service, but you are buying the person providing the service, and the business supporting that person. read more

Always very happy with my eyebrows!! Recently had the lash lift and tint and was extremely happy with the results. The next day at work I was asked if I had had lash extensions put on. I recently went to Chrisitie Pea Nail Spa located in South Miami. I went there to redeem a GROUPON I was given by my sister in law for a mani/pedi. I arrived a little bit earlier to try to see if someone was available to do my eyebrows. Well, there was this girl available and as soon as I told the front lady, she sent me back to Mayra's Art Spot, where they do the wax. I must said I told the front girl this was my very first time at their place. My eyebrows just needed a shape, as I had clean them the day before. So she did the wax to get the shape done and she also did my upper lip. To make a long story short, I was charged $45.00 for both services. ($35 eyebrows and $10 upper lip). I had to ask the front lady twice because I wouldn't believe it. The eyebrows came down nice but it is definitely NOT worth the price. It so overprice that it's ridiculous. I felt like I was robbed. Mani/pedi were ok, nothing out of this world. I had gotten better ones. read more
