I am really glad that some of my yelp friends tempted me out to visit Mazi Mas, even though it took all of us quite a long time to get out into this part of east London!
Mazí Mas is a social enterprise that gives ladies from migrant and refugee communities a chance to have paid work experience in the food industry and to share their fabulous culinary skills with lucky East-Londoners. At the moment they run the kitchens in the Russet on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday evenings. The menu seems to change regularly depending on the chefs...but everything we tried was lovely.
We shared:
- Some Brazilian cheese bread (I could have eaten a whole plate to myself - they were so good!)
- Some dumplings from Nepal (also tasty...but better with the spicy dip!)
- A sharing platter with baba ganoush, frittata, salad and gorgeous bread.
For mains I shared a pumpkin curry and a fish curry (so we could both try both flavours...) I liked both, but pumpkin was my favourite...
So, do some good by eating yummy food - head out to the Russet and eat everything, you will not regret it. read more
