Mahjuba covered my shoulders and hair, I sat in front of a mirror in the daylight, and we looked at how different fabric swatches of color looked against my skin. I was really surprised to see how much nicer I looked in one shade of red over another, and she introduced me to some colors I would have never thought of wearing. I had no idea that the right colors would make my eyes sparkle and my skin look smoother. I feel like she's unlocked a huge secret for me that I can use for the rest of my life! I purchased my color palette swatch book from her, and then I started going through my wardrobe. I got rid of some things that were clearly unflattering, bought a couple of pieces in new colors for me (light yellow! mint green!), and ended up dyeing some pieces with RIT dye, transforming them from "I need to do laundry" items to some of my new favorite pieces.
