I happen to see the prior review on here so I thought I would add my experience as well. In Sept…read moreof 2023 my husband and I were looking at a property they manage in Springfield. I asked if they could do a FaceTime walk-through since I was also located in New York. The "agent" was unresponsive after a scheduled time went by, I waited for the call and she was an hour and a half late to do the walk-through. By then I was already at work in an on-call emergency room. She didn't seem to understand how to keep her camera from facing herself and the entire view of the unit was blurred. Included on the After that, she pointed me to an online application where it went unread for over five days. I looked at their listings in this building and there three available units available so why they didn't prioritize two doctors wanting to rent for minimum two years and we needed to move ASAP. I repeatedly called their offices numerous times in a week and I thought I had the renting agent cell phone number but realized it wasn't. We eventually gave up and ended up finding a spectacular place about four blocks away in a much better area. This company was so unprofessional.

This is probably the most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with…read more A woman named Cherry was texting with me. She agreed to an 11am viewing of a property knowing I was driving up from New York (2.5 hours) as well as having told her I was pregnant (7 months to be exact) so the drive is far from comfortable. I had messaged her the day before asking if we could move it to 5pm and she never responded so not wanting to lose the appointment I headed out there from NY at 8am. I text her on the way to let her know traffic was building up and I would be there closer to 11.30am and if it was a major issue. I'm still open to 5pm. She agrees to 5pm so now I have 11.30am-5pm to find something to do. 4.50pm I text to let her know we were a few minutes away. No response. Noone shows up. We waited outside for 20 minutes and nothing. No text, no call nothing. Really disgusting if you ask me.

I understand having a strict application process. I understand being thorough and wanting to make…read moresure that a person is trustworthy, before entering into a lease agreement with that particular person. However, there is a line between being thorough and just being unreasonable. Sears property has crossed that line. When we first viewed the property with one of there agents, they were extremely pleasant, if not a little informal, which i appreciated. We fell in love with the apartment, and the neighborhood so we applied. Our application wasn't accepted, because we didn't pass their credit check. Every credit check i do always shows that I have above average credit, borderline good credit. So I don't know how i didn't pass this part of their credit check. When i inquired as to why i was rejected as an applicant that's when the fun began. They wouldn't even tell me what kind of credit score they were looking for. The Sears representative again and again stone walled me. Refusing to provide me with any information on why I was rejected. They refused to provide me with any information, and just recited that they have a strict policy. Now I asked if we could work something out. Its customary for rental agencies to request a double security or an extra months rent for someone with a questionable credit history. I offered a second security, i even offered several months rent before moving in. No matter what I offered or suggested their representative remained apathetic and really unhelpful. It became clear that they didn't want us to rent from them. My fiance and I really loved the apartment and were really hoping to work something out. However, the staff remained uninterested and unreasonable. I would understand if they showed a little customer service and just explained why they couldn't work with us. But, all I got was uninterested and poor customer service.
