I was looking for an opportunity to be able to learn how to paint. I wanted to find a place where I could walk in with no experience and would be welcomed with the spirit of "We are glad you are here with us, so let's learn something together!" I have been truly blessed to find MBodied Art Studio! I have found a wonderful instructor and artist in Shannon and a class filled with others who are embracing the artist within themselves. Everyone there has been supportive of my journey and has encouraged me in every possible way. MBodied not only provides me with in-classroom experience, but with their wonderful YouTube videos and Forum Digest categories and topics created for online viewing by Shannon and Michelle (owner, operator and artist of MBodied Studio). The highlight of my week is not only going to class but also the anticipation of what I will be learning and creating next. What started out as just a fun mother/son activity together has blossomed into a legitimate hobby that we both enjoy so much. The atmosphere is positive and cozy, but the instruction is nevertheless top-rate. We've embarked on some really complex assignments, but both Shannon and Michelle are able to break down the concepts and guide you through the process, regardless of your skill level. It's the ideal balance between harnessing your creative ideas, and transferring them to canvas, using techniques you've likely never tried. You'll enjoy the journey, as well as the end product. I would highly recommend MBodied Art Studio to anyone interested in painting as a novice or as someone who has had more experience. Michelle was very patient (especially with children, who were part of the "painting together" class I took today) and helpful with all the stages of painting, even when it does not follow the theme of the class. Her studio reminds me of a combination of a cozy living room and an art classroom. I found it pleasant and relaxing. This studio is amazing! Such a warm, cozy, welcoming feel. Michelle hosts open paint nights every other week which are free if you have your own supplies or $5-15 if you buy supplies from her. I think it's incredibly wonderful that she allows me and other artists to come create at her studio for free and to enjoy the sense of community. She is also an amazing art therapist and it is quite obvious that her love for art and her love for therapy are combined in a beautiful way that helps people. read more

I've been to the paint and sip classes before where the entire class paints the same thing but when I came to Michelle's studio, I felt at ease because she gave me (as well as everyone else there) the CHOICE to pick what you wanted to do. i also got to choose the size of canvas I wanted! This is a very affordable and safe environment to express yourself...however you want! Michelle was patient, kind and instructed those who wanted it. Wonderful! Took Michelle's beginning acrylic painting class and found it to be both challenging yet accomplishable. I learned a lot of tricks and got over my fear of the blank canvas. Doesn't matter how good or bad my paintings turned out, I was happily lost in the process and just content to spend time in the good vibes of Michelle's class. I have been taking Shannon's drawing class for almost 3 months now. It is exactly what I was looking for when looking for an art class! I have a background in visual arts, but have lost my practice as an adult. I was very surprised with the high quality of her technique instruction, and the creative project ideas. I hosted a birthday party for a friend at MBodied. It was absolutely wonderful! We were able to bring in our own food and drinks. Michelle was completely accommodating to our agenda, not to mention so warm and encouraging once we got painting. We were not an easy group to lead, to say the least. I would highly recommend MBodied Art Studio. I recently took the beginner acrylics class. I was new to painting and Shannon, our instructor, helped us with the basic principles we needed to get started painting. It was a very fun class with a very relaxed environment. I took Intro to Acrylics October 2016 and really really enjoyed this class! I am very new to painting and don't know how to draw. But with Michelle's patient guidance, I learned to paint some fairly realistic pieces. I was shocked!!
