I visit McAlister on race last Saturday! I left totally dissatisfied! The menu is misleading in my opinion!!! I ordered a Turkey/ham club whole sandwich. Well I thought the side(s) were included in the price of the sandwich according to how the menu read. But not at all! I paid 18+ for sandwich, side, and tea. Not sure if/when I will go back. I've always enjoyed McAlister's Deli. Everybody loves the sweet iced tea (I drink the unsweet which is also very good) and the sandwiches are always fresh and flavorful. I am usually limited to the salads and spuds. Not any more!!!! They now sport a full gluten free menu and most importantly, GLUTEN FREE BREAD for their sandwiches! And not just GF bread, excellent GF bread! On a recent visit, I ordered a sandwich and soup. The sandwich was more than I could have expected - light, toasted bread (not the usual dense bread that gluten free results in) that held together well as I took bites. Facilities: nice, kinda crowded during lunch hour, 2-seater restroom. We sat at a booth where the seat upholstery was cracked, so it was like sitting on alligator skin. Food: it took a while to get our food, since they were so busy. I ordered the pasta dish "four cheese chili with veggie chili", but they first brought me the wrong kind (traditional chili, not veggie chili). Once they brought out the right pasta dish, there were still a few pieces of chili meat in it. But once I got those out, the rest of it was really good. I'd still order it again, but a different, less crowded location. read more

Weve eaten here a total of 4 times, lets just say this place has alot of colorful people working here. The first 3 times were great i got a bread bowl broccoli n cheese soup and half sandwich, and my wife got the same soup and a toasted type sandwich with sweet tea. The last time we came here tho we stood in line for 10 mins and the lady just passed us by closed her register went in the back and then when she came back she opened a different register and took the order of the guy behind us. We have been coming here since it first opened. Our first time visiting a Mcallister's was in Vicksburg. When the one here in Searcy opened we were very happy. We really enjoy going on Sunday evenings after church with our church family. There is usually about 10 to 15 of us. The serving staff is always very courteous and helpful. The food is always expertly prepared. If there are any problems with any order they are quick to take care of our every needs. We were there tonight and they were very busy. They never missed a beat. We were all treated as a special guest and service was superior as always. read more

i LOVE McAlister's sandwiches, broccoli cheddar soup, and salad! I am so thankful there is one in Searcy! I have a punch card from them and intend to make the use of it for the next few years. Their ice tea is to die for, but I don't drink ice tea. I usually order to go. I just call in and place my order and pay and they hand the food and I leave. It's very convenient when I'm in a rush. My mother and I stopped in around 3pm yesterday on our way to a funeral as McAlister's are generally a safe bet. The restaurant was pretty empty, but there seemed to be something going on with an employee's meal and some managerial stuff that was distracting the woman at the register. She was obviously frazzled and kept switching between speaking to us, the employee getting lunch, and herself which made it very confusing trying to order. My mom ordered and the employee, who was clearly not listening, made her repeat the order twice. No eye contact, no smile. It made us feel like we were putting her out. The veggie spud at my normal McAlister's has cooked broccoli and onions on top, but what I got at this location was raw. It isn't the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant, but I definitely will not be returning to this particular location. read more

Came here because it was close to the hotel and other Yelpers gave amazing reviews. Should have looked at dates on reviews. Nothing recent! So here's a "what have you done for me lately" review. The good news is that the sweet tea is perfect and the service was very quick. I had a loaded potato and thought it was light on toppings. Could have used more gravy, more pot roast and carrots that were not still crunchy. The gumbo was disappointing. Salty tomato base with sad slivers of some kind sausage. No peppers, no onion, no okra, no flavor. Even this Yankee could figure out this was not gumbo. Sorry folks. Not feeling the five stars. read more

This is one of the very few deli resaurants that I've actually eaten at, but I don't see how it can get much better than this. I can't vouch for their "famous" claim for their sweet tea, but it is good! The wife and I sometimes order a sandwich each with one of their massive baked potatoes to share between the two of us. Great variety of food options (although I miss the dinner plates menu and the meatloaf sandwich!) and everything I've had has been very fresh. Their grilled chicken salad is great, I could eat it every day. The tomato bisque is my favorite, I have yet to find one as good and it pairs well with their cheese griller. The king club (with double turkey instead of turkey & ham) is the best sandwich. There is a big variety of sides and soups and the mix & match menu is a great way to try new things that you aren't ready to fully commit to :) OH and the baked potatoes! So good. Everyone raves about their tea but I don't think it is quite sweet enough. Everyone is very friendly and they come around often to check on you. read more

I love MCAlisters and usually experience great customer service but I rated it lower due to the fact that we have used them often in the past for large group orders but the most recent time when I called in our order the lady that answered the phone and took our order was completely RUDE! She didnt want to take the order b/c it was before 10:30 (it was like 10:10) and then when she did I heard someone in the background say "are you kidding me" and she said "yes, its a big order" and continued to be rude. We will be going elsewhere from here on out! read more
